Who would buy this contract???

On the Timeshare Store site, there is a 300 point Vero Beach contract $65/point for $19,500. Use year is April.

The note on it is 300 points available 4/1/08 and 300 points coming 4/1/09.



Ok, so someone is going to pay almost 20K for something they can't use for over a year? (two years if they don't want to start out in 'borrow' mode)

So someone actually has used all of their 2006 points, borrowed all of 2007, and then decides to sell the contract?

I can't see anyone jumping at this. Am I missing something?

Well, there are a lot of ifs...

IF - I wanted Vero with an April Use Year and a 300 point contract, and

IF - I couldn't easily get it through a Disney waitlist for sold out resorts, and

IF, I already had vacation plans for the upcoming two years, and

IF, I really wanted the next years (three, four and so on) to be Vero vacations,

THEN, and only then, I might buy that contract!!!!

Maybe what they want is either:

an uniformed buyer wanting to actually buy ... or

they will accept a low-ball offer to sell it quickly and let ROFR take it.

I saw a simular contract for BWV on another site. 210 points with two points coming on 6.1.07.....

It just got reduced to something like $65 a point.... I just checked someone bit. How much you want to bet it doesn't get past ROFR at $65 a point... Guess we will never know.

$95!!!!

I know BCV sells high, but for a fully stripped contract that strikes me as being GREEDY! You will have to watch and see how long this one takes.

(And how could you have used your 2008 points? Sounds like maybe there was an error there and it should read 2/1/07.)

I found it and these folks are VERY greedy. They haven't used thier 2008 points YET, they want you to agree to buy now, but you can't close until 4/2/07..... so in other words they are going to strip 08 for a vacation in March 07 and then dump the contract.

I believe they could use their 2008 points for a cruise in 2007, correct

They could use 2008 points in 2007 - but the reservation will be cancelled by DVC during the closing process. Some members don't realize that and scalp the contract for personal reservations only to find their reservations gone during the process.

These sellers must realize this.. They don't want to close until APRIL 2007..... Probably should have just waited until March or April to list!
