I just went to the Disney site and was happy to read that after May 5, 2005 Disney guests will be able to step of the plane and jump into the Magical Express which drops you off at your resort. This will be great for our September trip...we won't need a rental car on this trip afterall. :)

I am for my possible May 27-June 6th trip. I figure since it is free, what they heck. They only problem is since I am using Spirit Airlines out of Chicago, they will get my bags from the airport, but I can't use the hotel service for my flight back.

We won't be able to use it for our April trip, but we will in July 2006. I hope this option is around after the 50th celebration.

disneyjunkie,

It should be, but there will probably be a charge for it by then.

I am going to stick with town car. Grocery stop, and no lines, and no extra stops. Hopefully, with the ability to check in at the airport for your resort, no lines at check in either.

kirbsam, my DH agrees with you. Yikes! I have to convince him to let us do do the Magical Express this time just to experience it. :)

I hope to use it this fall. I bring my 5 kids down by myself, since DH is a teacher and not a Disney nut like me. I don't rent a car, and this sounds like it could work out nicely, if all goes according to plan. I'll be curious to see how it goes.

I for one will still get a Town Car Pickup. I was all for the Magical Express until I read that it is through Mears shuttle service. I'm not a fan of Mears, too long of waits and too many stops.

Where did you read that? Or was I just being careless and didn't read the fine print. I thought that this was a straight Disney shot. Hopefully, it will only make Disney on-site stops. I doubt that Mears will want to screw up this great contract they have.

I don't think they will run like the normal Mears service. You have to book in advance(I think 10 days). Each bus will only make 3-4 stops. I figure this means they will have each bus going to specific resort area. I assume someone going to PC won't be on the same bus as someone going to the Poly.

I'm looking forward to trying the service in July 2006.

Maybe I've been lucky but both times I've used Mears, the only stops were at the 3 All Star resorts (I stayed at Music both times). They has separate shuttles going to different resort areas.

I'm looking forward to the new express shuttle if only for the check-in at the hotel on departure day (I've used this feature in Las Vegas & just loved it!) :cool1:

That's what I read also. I'm trying it out in June.

Since we aren't getting in until 6:20 on a Sat. evening and don't plan on doing anything on Sat. night we will more than likely use it because we won't be in a hurry to get to a park or anything.

When you use the Magical Express - you check your luggage at your home airport and YOU DON'T SEE IT AGAIN UNTIL IT IS DELIVERED TO YOUR HOTEL ROOM - Does this make anyone else nervous?!?!?
We used towncar svc. for our first trip to WDW. It was great - no waiting - free grocery stop - took us right to our door. Cost $92.00 round trip.
But, DH wants to use express this time because it's FREE
We will be coming to WDW in late May, so barely any time to work out the bugs. Am I just paranoid? Lost luggage would do me in :earseek:

I'm planning on using it in May, but also planning on bringing a full set of clothes in my carry on. I know that they will give luggage tags, but even the expensive heavy-duty ones get torn and broken on transport. My only good thing would be that I am not arriving until after midnight so there shouldn't be too many other people to wait for or to drop off.

because I always have more time than I have money.

I wish I could use it in the next for this trip but the service doesn't start until May.

I am always looking to save a few pennys.

Are you sure it is the same Mears service....becuase on the Disney website it says themed vans??? I thought that meant they would be Disney themed??? I could be wrong though.
