Actually, football was KING during the 70's-early 80's. Won the State Championship in 1980. Defeated (stomped) Christopher Columbus HS in Miami. Several of the players on that team were Miami Dolphin Kids...we taught them how to lose.

For a big game, there would be 10,000 folks at the game.

The marching band "The Showband of the South" won more awards and marched in more parades then I'd be able to list here.
In 1980, the band was named the Grand National Champs of the Marching Bands of America.

Elvis Peacock who used to play Football for I believe Dallas.:o He is now a coach. Also, a Famous Gymnast, whom I cannot remember right now, but it was a guy and he was in the Olympics in the 80's I believe.

Patty Wetting ( not sure of the spelling of the last name) from the show in the 80's Thirty Something. I'm not sure if she ever did anything more then that. The first episode she did a cheer that was one from my shool, everyone was talking about it the next day :D.
