Who went to the E:E preview and what did you think???!!!

How does this compare with Dinosaur? Scary-wise. Last trip my grandson was almost 4 - rode Dinosaur, loved the ride but was pretty scared at the end .

We're going back the end of February and he's now 5 1/2. If there are any "soft openings" I would love to ride - but want to be prepared.

So - any comparisons? :thanks:

Myself,DW and two grand daughters rode it first thing Thursday morning.
Probably about a hundred people in front of us. While in line DW grabbed fast passes so we got to ride it twice right away before racing off to the airport heading home. Pretty cool :cool1: ride.

We were there on Saturday and waited in the 2 hour line. There were times we weren't sure about it but afterwards we were glad we waited. We loved the ride but we thought it was a little short. Maybe it was all the stopping and starting. I don't know if we would wait that long again but it was worth it this time.

I walked through AK's gates at 9:05 sunday morning headed straight to Everest and waited about 1 hour and 40 minutes, a long line but a good line as everyone's mood was up to ride the new coaster. The ride was a bit better than I expected and the YETI at the end looked pretty cool.We only rode once as I wasn't making another wait of 2 hours and we didn't get Fastpasses for the ride as the return times were like 2:30-3:30 at 9:15 and like 4:30- 5:30 as we were waiting in line at about 10:30.Have to come back and get some rerides to get a better feel for the coaster.

I went to the preview Thursday, Friday and Saturday (yup - Saturday was NUTS crowd-wise), and the CMs dubbed me the 'unofficial record holder', riding E:E a total of 43 times! :yay: (20 on Thursday, 22 on Friday, once on Saturday.) Rode with a CM on one of my rides, and he personally took me 'backstage' to the Tower (control room) to introduce me to the operators and show me how the ride worked. Holy cow! What a highlight for me!!! I felt privileged, believe me! But, boy - was I a tired girl!!!!! Also had the privilege of meeting Len Testa from the Unofficial Guide. Totally cool!!!!

By the way, it was reported a few weeks ago on the Inside the Magic podcast that Disney does plan to dress up the side that is not in the park, but that you can see. (I didn't even notice this eyesore,but....)

When does the preview end?I understood it wasn't going to open til April ,we're leaving tuesday please don't tell me we're not going to get a ride on this new coaster on this trip. :sad2:

AP preview is over. There may or may not be a soft open during your vist. However, soft opwnings are not announced so if you happend to be at AK swing by and see that's about the only way to know.

That's very good news, I was wondering about that as I was driving in AK's parking lot you go around a curve and basically you're seeing a building(very Un-Disneylike)and i couldn't believe the imagineers didn't think people would see this as they were driving in!

The back of the ride definitely needs finished - It takes away from the Mystique as you enter the park.

We went Friday afternoon and lines were very reasonable (Esp compared to Sat & Sun). We entered thru the DinoLand entrance & had no problem or line! The Standby Entrance said 20 minutes, but it was closer to 15 with the Fastpass time only out about an hour. We did a Baby-swap - and it worked well. So, with one standby - one baby swap - then another standby - our hour was up and we rode once more with our FPs. DS10 rode it 4 times - 3 with me and once with DW - all in just over an hour.

There definitely should have been a higher LE on the Preview pins - I was told that they were sold out on Friday afternoon. It seems like they should have just given you the coupon for the Lanyard & pin as you entered the ride area as well - instead of a 2nd check-point!

But, the ride was definitely worth it! I have never ridden a roller coaster like it! I think the best way to describe it is to say that if Splash Mountain were a Roller Coaster - it would be Expedition Everest!
