It seems a lot of people on this board were at WDW this week, and we were too. The crowds were minimal until Saturday and the weather was great (except for Friday afternoon).

A few photographic reflections: a good tripod is a joy to use, a good ballhead makes it even better. My new plan is to only carry two lenses at a time, more than that seems to be too much.
For the best, most unobstructed view of Cinderella's castle go on the day before the Christmas Parade taping, when the Christmas tree and the flagpole are both moved.

And here are some of the photos, in no particular order:

This shot is AWESOME! Well done! That is the type of stuff that I just didn't have time to think of running around with the family. GreatJob!

Bob, thanks for sharing your wonderful photos! Christmas seems to make it even more magical - if that's possible!!!

I wasn't, but wished I was. We were there last year for Thanksgiving. Now seeing all of the pictures from everyone who was there I'm having serious Disney Withdrawals. Thank you for sharing the beautiful pictures that you have taken. Would love to see more.

That last one of Walt was seriously awesome. Great catch on that angle.

Just out of curiousity - What kind of lens did you use for the photo of the Japanese archway (I'm blanking on the real name for it)?

Thanks. I can't take credit for the idea of Walt Disney and the star, I saw it somewhere on Disboards as I recall, and thought it would be fun to do. The photo is not difficult to line up with a SLR but at age AARP+ it's getting difficult to stoop down low enough to get the photo! ;)

The Torii gate photo was taken with a Canon 10-22mm @ 10mm. The 10-22 may be my favorite lens for providing a different perspective.

Nice work! I especially like the two Illuminations photos.

Not everyone was down there, we've got almost five months left before our next trip - it's roughing hearing all these trip reports! Plus my sister just got back so I'm hearing some stories from her - and seeing the video at Orlando Attractions of the new castle lighting is making me bummed that we will miss Christmas season this time, unlike the last couple of years. I just hope they're still doing the Epcot 25th anniversary extra fireworks after Illuminations in April, the videos of them look amazing.

Oh well! More time to practice and build up the gear collection! :) Got a 135mm F2.8 and a 70-210mm F2.8-4.0 on their way to me now...

Ya'll are just mean! ;)

Great photo's as usual. Thanks for sharing. :)

Thanks for the info. At first, I thought it was a fish-eye lens, but then realized that wasn't quite right.

Great shots!!! A lot of people may have been there for the beginning of Mousefest for the Cruise... and then a lot going this week for the Land part... and I can hardly wait!!!!!

I wasn't there last week, but we leave this Saturday for our stay Dec 9-16th. This will be my first trip with my dslr, so I am very excited!!!

Nice shots!

Also our trip does not start for another 8 days.

Will the decorations still be up? Heheheheheee

Mikeeeee

we weren't there and so far no trip planned but a lunch at disney vero was enough to make hub want to go for the real thing so hopefully sooner than later:thumbsup2
nice work Bob

Nice shots Bob. I too saw that Walt/Tree shot in another thread somewhere here and took one myself. I still haven't processed my photo's yet. I'll start that today.

Wish I had known you were down there. We probably walked right past each other and didn't even know it. I did that with Amy, but she recognized me and also knew I was in that particular park that night.

Bob, I was down there too!:)

Not once, did I take a flash photo on a ride!;)

Your pictures are wonderful! Thanks for sharing!!!

I came back Monday night, spent the next day doing errands, and am back at work today. As soon as I get a chance I will post some photos of DGD's 3rd birthday at Cinderella's Castle using my new S5.

TC:cool1:

PS: I ran into OffKilterFan at Epcot on Thursday. We were there to hear, what else? Off Kilter!

Bob, I was not there and really wanted to be....does that count :rotfl2: nice shots, you might as well list all you exif data and how you took the shot info to keep questions down. :lmao:

Love the castle :santa:

We weren't there :sad1: We were here freezing our behinds off. Your pictures are amazing !!
