Who Wants to Learn the Bacon Dance? – A May 2012 TR - 6/30 - 3 Updates

Love the update!! I am so sorry about your air-conditioner!! It's been SO stinkin hot here, I know you need it! I hope they get it fixed tonight!

The Bacon Dance has me cracking up. I love the instructional photos. . .tell Alex I practiced! ;)

Chef Mickey's is so great. . .I'm hoping to get back there for breakfast soon (we've done the dinner the past few trips)! Can't wait to hear more about the rest of your day!

I hope you're staying cool too! Can you believe this heat? Crazy!

:lmao: I'll tell Alex you practiced! :thumbsup2

Yay for the bacon dance! And eating bacon totally deserves a dance party! party: Bacon is awesome. I could eat it at every meal.

I love cups and mugs, too! I have zero room in my cabinets for any new ones, though. I'll have to weed some of the old ones out before my October trip!

I could eat it every meal too. Yum!!

We have way too many cups and mugs too. When I was buying mine Mike asked where we were going to put them. I did have to make room for them when we got home.

My DH would be all over the bacon dance! He is a firm believer that you should always have "breakfast meat" in the morning, and bacon is the preference. And a dance just makes it that much better!

Hope the a/c is fixed soon! It was *only* 103 here today... Ugh. Just glad it's not like last summer at this time when our air went out and I was 7.5 months pregnant and it was 98 outside. You couldn't have found a more unhappy person than me! And a more grateful person that our neighbor is an HVAC guy!

Loving the updates! Now I need to do some of my own!

Bacon Dance = HILARIOUS!!! Love it!!

Chef Mickey's is wonderful! So glad you had a good time, again, there!

Stormalong Bay looks really cool!! Glad the kiddo's liked it!

Yay for a fun time at MK! The new queue at the Haunted Mansion is REALLY neat! I loved it!!!

Good to know about the Villians and Heroes parking lot sides. I had no idea.

I hope the force stays strong with you and you have good luck!! :lmao:

The Bacon Dance is hilarious! I know a few people who'd gladly do that dance in their excitement over the food. :rotfl:

Stormalong Bay sounds like so much fun! Your pictures made me want to try it out one day. Add to that the fact that they have Beaches and Cream right next to it, and you have what has to be the coolest pools on property.

What are the odds that you would sit at the exact same table 3 times straight?!?! That's crazy!

LOVING your report! You had me at "bacon dance." :lmao:

We drive from Michigan (well, now we'll be driving from Wisconsin...but I digress), and always stay off of I-24 in Chattanooga the first night.
So I TOTALLY feel your pain for that drive through Georgia. We always drive all the way to WDW from Chattanooga...it'a a LONG drive.

We love TN...we'd like to take more time and explore it, but we're always in a hurry to get to WDW!

About an hour later we hit Atlanta. Our goal was to get to Atlanta between the morning traffic and the lunch traffic. So you’ll just have to take my word that the Atlanta traffic wasn’t too bad.

We only figured out the "diamond lanes" our last trip. That made Atlanta a whole lot easier. Still a pain to drive in. Though, not that we have to drive through Chicago every time we go to visit family, Atlanta won't be such a big deal. LOL

When we were planning our trip, Mike made it very clear that we had to stop at Zaxby’s for lunch. You see, we don’t have a Zaxby’s in Knoxville. The surrounding smaller towns do, (like Maryville or Maravull to us natives) but we don’t. This upsets Mike. He’s jealous that they have one and we don’t. So before we left, Mike looked up what exits in Georgia had Zaxby’s. I think he might have a problem y’all! So when we hit exit 228 we knew that there would be a Zaxby’s waiting for us and Mike was all too happy to pull off at the exit at 11:20.

I'm going to have to look up this place. The only restaurants we know and trust in Georgia are Shoney's and IHOP. We have been at the IHOP in Adele (I think) Georgia several times, and the Shoney's in Tifton (again, I think.)

Some of you may wondering why I would take such an interest in this one picture. Well my friends, I suffer from Coulrophobia – aka fear of clowns. There’s not much that bothers me, but clowns are my nemesis. I know it’s silly but I just have no desire to try to like them. So what’s a clown fearing girl to do when she’s sitting across from a picture of a clown? I turned the other way, pretended it wasn’t there and preceded to check us into Zaxby’s at Jonesboro, GA on Facebook. But in the back of my mind, I knew it was still there. I could sense its presence…

I FEAR CLOWNS ALSO.

We always take pics of the FL welcome sign. :goodvibes

Sounds like a great trip so far. I'm giggling over the "Western Way" sign. LOL

Can't wait to read the rest!

Great updates! Hope your a/c is fixed soon! Ours has been running almost non-stop this weekend. It is so hot!!

We spent quite a bit of time at Stormalong Bay. We only went to the sand area once, though. The rest of the time, we stayed in the area around the whirlpool and the bottom of the slide.

I really missed going to the Contemporary this trip. We've either stayed there or eaten there the past 4-5 trips, so not going this time was odd.

We saw the fire on the news when we were in Vero Beach. I was hoping it would be under control b the time we got there.

Can't wait to hear more!

Great updates! You got a lot done is so little time!

I hope that both of your air conditioners are back up and running. Lacey said it's hot as heck in Knoxville.

Great updates! I enjoyed hearing about the bacon (and pancake) dance! Always enjoy a breakfast at Chef Mickeys! :)

Love SAB at the Beach Club. Couldn't you just stay in there all day?

Hope you've gotten all your A/C working at your house. It's been crazy hot here the past week---five days in a row with highs all over 100 degrees. Cold front's moved through, apparently--Only 97 today!

Just read your progress thus far all in one sitting. I can't wait to hear more.

I'm enjoying reading your trip report so far. My family was there May 24-June 2 so it is fun to see where you were and what you dealt with on the same days as us. We stayed at Pop and I have attached a picture of the view of the fire from our hotel. It was actually pretty scary for a few minutes and was only 2 or 3 miles away from us. The wind seemed to shift and they started getting it under control so the smoke began to diminish fairly quickly. I think it did end up burning about 20 acres and we saw some of the damage on the way back to the airport.

We also got caught in the crazy traffic trying to get to the Magic Kingdom that evening since I-4 was closed in both directions for a little while. Our bus driver was constantly in contact with dispatch and they finally gave him permission to reroute. We cut through Caribbean Beach Resort and made a big loop and then we began the bus ride our family referred to as "Mr. Toad's Wild Ride!" We were on back roads out of traffic and going faster than we usually do on a bus! We were just glad to finally make it to the MK safe and sound about 45+ minutes after leaving Pop. :)

Another Knoxville gal here. Great report. BTW...there is a Zaxbys on Cumberland and one off Emory Road !!! Love Zaxbys too.:cool1:

Great first day at Disney! You got so much done. And learned the Bacon Dance... :rotfl: Stormalong Bay would be so great today! (upper 90's here). I hope your A/C is up and running again!

So funny you had the same table (three times!) at T-Rex... what are the odds?!

And, yowza! That wasn't just a piece of chicken, it looks more like the whole bird!

Ok, I'm just going to reply as I go through each post.
Yay for Bacon Dance time!!!! Love how you had the instructions by the very creator of the Bacon Dance himself--very impressive he must be hard to get for these type of things, I imagine he is doing world tours with back up dancers and everything ;)
Then I noticed--oh hey I have that blue laundry basket.
And then I read as you explained where you were sitting, and I was like "yeah, we were in that section too." By the kitchen you say, us too. Then I see the pictures. . ."WE WERE AT THE SAME TABLE AS YOU GUYS!!!!" How exciting is that!!!!! Or I'm a nut ;)
Ok, back to the posts. . .

That pool area/water park, does look awesome and I'm glad you all had fun! Ouch-a-ma-gouch to the blisters on your feet--oh so not a good thing when you have to walk Disney World at the same time :(

I've never eaten there, and it is very quirky that you have had the same table each time! I could see the same section maybe, but at least it must have felt a little like home ;)
Isn't the castle a wonderful site to behold :) We never did get to HM, but it is on our list of two things to do when we go back in Feb:cool1:

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE to see your big box fan in the back of your van!!! We always have to have a fan too! Kinda hard to do when you fly though. We brought a clip-on fan in our checked baggage last trip. This time we are going to see if a noise ap will help!
