Who wakes up first

On Christmas morning who wakes up first in your house and what happens next?

I always wake up first and I can't wait for my DH and DD's to wake so I usually wake them. I have DD's brush their hair and teeth while I light the tree and turn on the coffee. DH gets the camcorder ready. After the presents are open DD's check out their loot while we have our coffee then about 10:00 we go to DH's parents house for breakfast with his family. Then we go to my parents house and when we get home we're in for the day.

We do all the of visiting the night before so the kids can stay home on Christmas day. On Christmas morning, DH and I get up before the kids, first things first, have coffee!, plug in the tree and wait for the kids to wake up. We do let the kids open one gift on Christmas eve though before they go to sleep (one that we choose) after they sing Happy Birthday Baby Jesus. They've been doing that since they were little.

Usually DH. Then me. Then my teenager - about 5 hours later. Actually, we have to wake her up so we can get the presents opened before midnight.

Its just me and my DH right now, no kids yet! I am always up the earliest, watching "A Christmas Story" marathon on TNT. Then around 6 a.m. I wake up DH and we do the tree, then we get in the car and drive the 3 hours to Connecticut where my family lives and we spend Christmas there. Christmas Eve is done at his family's house (that live down the street from me).

The kids! They can come and get us at 7:00 and we will all go downstairs then. (They usually don't wake up much before then anyway, so it's not like we torturing them making them wait until 7:00.) I put their stockings in their room and wrap everything, no matter how small (except candy) and they open that before they come and get us.
