Just curious how many of you use a travel agent or do you plan everything yourself????

personally I love all the planning but I am thinking an agent would have a more heads up on what is going on...

thinking about using one for our next May trip..

I use a TA and I plan everything myself. I just have the TA make the calls to Disney to book and make any changes I want. I hate dealing with Disney phone lines and especially hate being on hold for hours when a new deal comes out. I also figure that since it doesn't cost me any extra it's nice knowing that I'm supporting a small business.

Same here as PP. I use a AAA TA, but plan everything myself. Depending on which TA you use, some offer extra perks. For example, AAA offers great parking passes, special character story time at Epcot, and a special wishes viewing spot. Ive heard these perks may change in 2014, so Id ask. Really, I dont think there is any downside to using a TA, IMO! :) Good luck and have fun planning your trip!!

I plan and book everything myself. I like knowing I can call Disney on a whim should I want to change something or add/delete something without having to go through a TA to do that. I also frequent these boards enough that I hear about possible discounts before they are released as rumors start surfacing prior to Disney making any official announcement.

I used to use AAA. In the past, I would transfer the reservation once they had a promotion like a free GC for booking during Disney month. The GC used to be actual Visa or MC. Now they switched to AAA GC and require full payment at time of booking. The AAA GC at first I was told it would not be good for payment of membership fee but apparently it is. Otherwise it would only be good for the outdated and overprice crap they sell. Also, last few trips during Xmas, we were not able to use the Diamond lot pass because the parks would not use it during busy times.
