I go there from time to time.

What are some of your favorite things and what do you stay away from?

So far everything that I have bought I have been very happy with.

Fresh fruit and veggies, milk (love the milk there and I am an absolute freak about my milk), canned beans, taco seasoning and shells, seasonings, eggs, garbage bags, frozen foods (they never seem to have the same things with each visit), egg beaters, bread, hummus (the best) and ice cream!

I never went to Aldis ever then I was asked to Mystery Shop there and I have been back at least 2x a month since.

ice cream for sure, ice pops, laundry detergent, granola bars, and the sweet and salty bars.....all very good.....now my mom...she loves all the vegetables and fruits....me not so much

I love Aldi! They just opened in my area a few months ago.

My favorites there are popsicles (brand name is Sundae Shop, I think? or Sweet Shop, or something like that) and their turkey bacon- I think it is the best I've ever had. I buy lots of frozen ground turkey there- it is a staple in our house and is $1.19 vs. $1.79 at other stores nearby.

Other things I buy there regularly: milk, eggs, biscuits, cinnamon rolls (with the biscuits), hummus, potatoes, sloppy joe sauce (which I use as intended and for meatloaf- yum!) and tortillas. I have found the produce to be kind of hit or miss. Prices are good, but quality is not always there.

Love the snacks-chips pretzels, butter, milk eggs, egg beaters, shredded cheddar cheese, some frozen and canned items too!

They have a $3 Chardonnay that I love!!! LOL! Winking Owl, I think it is!
You know how their ad focuses on a theme every week? I love the Italian stuff.
Also their fresh produce here is really good.

I bought the tortilla chips for salsa for .99 cents and my daughter said they were excellent!

I also bought a pack of chocolate fudge cookies and they were off the hook amazing!

I didn't care for some of their canned soups and they don't have canned fruit packed in juice only.

I like most of their things though.

things we always buy at aldi:

milk
chips and snacks
spices
lettuce (always .99 per head)
white castle frozen burgers (DH loves these)
dog treats
pepperoni
shredded cheese
selected veggies (such as potatoes and baby carrots)

things i won't buy from aldi ever again:

their store brand pop tarts - in every pack in the box, the two pop tarts were stuck together, and broke all to pieces when i tried to separate them. the great value brand at wal-mart is much better.

That's good to know about the poptarts. I usually get them even cheaper with coupons at Acme or when Target has there deal.

we buy the bulk of our groceries from Aldi's, but my favorites are the take and bake Pizza's- excellent, and one $6 pizza feeds the whole clan, and the frozen strawberry Popsicle. Yum, and only .50 each.

Oh, I really like Aldi's. They are great for snack foods. If you are having a BBQ or party, shop there for your chips and things. I have used their cheese and fresh meats. Everything has worked out great!

I've grown to love Aldi's. I have been pleased with, pasta, milk, eggs, bread, seasoning, olive oil, cereal, wheat thins, chips, cookies, napkins, paper plates, veggies, fruit, ice cream, cheese and waffles. Meat has been hit and miss. the quality isn't always the best, so I choose not to buy it there anymore.

I have not tried laundry detergent. I may buy it if they have HE. My washer recommends that type of detergent.

I was in Aldi last night when I overheard a woman asking the manager about their milk. "Why is it so much cheaper here? What's wrong with it?" Manager said, "Nothing. It's our brand packaged for us by Borden." She grabbed 3 gallons. Her son in the cart asked, "Who's all this for? Is David coming over for dinner?" I guess that's his friend that likes milk.:lmao:

So far, we like just about everything we have bought from Aldi, with the lone exceptions being the medium salsa (mild is good though) and the marinated asparagus I bought during a week when they were featuring German foods. I don't buy much of their meat because I can normally find it cheaper during a sale at other stores. I have a deep freezer, so I stock up during sales.

Here are some of the stuff that I regularly buy there:
fruit
veggies
eggs
tub margarine
butter
cheese
cottage cheese
cream cheese
yogurt
crackers
chips
tortilla chips
pretzels
salsa
fake Velveeta cheese
spaghetti noodles
rice
canned veggies
canned fruit in juice
canned soup
cookies
lunch pies
cereal
pop-tarts
napkins
coffee creamer
frozen Southern Style chicken (super yummy!)
frozen fruit
ice cream
popsicles
frozen fruit bars
bologna
salad mix
canned biscuits
turkey bacon
bread and buns
garlic bread in the silver bag (best I have ever bought)
Lacura brand makeup and face moisturizer (surprisingly good)

their chips are great (I would never buy off brand chips before) but even my picky husband loves theirs and only $1.29 a bag. I buy their bottled water, produce and I will second the vote on the take and bake pizzas. They are awesome.

I'll admit that I'm not a huge Aldi fan. In the one near me, the fresh produce is pretty bad. I do have a few things I buy regularly there, including their canned soups (for cooking, like cream of mushroom) and canned mushrooms. I think their tubes of refrigerated biscuits are the best, but frankly, I'm sure that's because they have more fat and other bad stuff in them! They are delicious though, and super cheap. I used to buy their frozen ravioli and frozen hash brown patties also, but haven't been able to find these there recently.

I didn't care for some of their canned soups and they don't have canned fruit packed in juice only.

I like most of their things though.

Interesting! One of the managers told me their soups are manufactured by Campbells and renamed whatever their brand is. The cream soups taste the same to me as Campbells. Not sure about those like Chicken Noodle, etc.

I pick and choose fresh fruit and veggies carefully. Sometimes excellent and sometimes over the hill. I stock up on yellow mustard, ground pepper, taco seasoning, canned cream soups, dry onion soup mix (I put that in hamburgers or turkey burgers on the grill or on top of a roast in the crockpot or oven), spaghetti and other pastas, frozen veggies, frozen fruit, coffee creamer, tortilla chips, black olives, and medium salsa for taco salad. Their ice cream is great, too. We also like their 12-grain bread. Their chocolate candy is scruptious! I like more and more of their products as time goes by.

We don't like their refrigerated pizza (tastes very bland to us) and their refrigerated rolls that you bake. We might be in the minority about both of those items. Most people seem to like them a lot.
