I love BF. I refrained from going to Walmart cuz I didn't want to have to be out in the freezing cold at 12:00 pm so instead I chose Target.

Got great buys on cameras on printers as well as pj's for me and coat for mom.

Ventured over to Kohl's and did great there as well. got an Aero bed, towels, pj's, sweaters for DD and DH. Plus had a 15% off coupon on everything at Kohl's plus you get back $10 coupon for every $50 you spend.

Best part of the day was relaxing in a local restaurant with my friend who shopped with me. We were all done by 1:00 pm and had great lunch.

ps. the cosmo hit the spot

well okay, had 2 cosmos

I did I did!! I ventured to Kohls and got the 5 piece luggage set in purple for $39.99. I bought my mom some nice leather Isotoners for $16.99 there as well. I also picked up a baby Cabbage Patch doll at Target. I've had a really hard time finding boy ones (with normal names) and DS really wants one. Now he will have 2 because I found one on ebay with his name ;) I love black friday. I go every year whether I need stuff or not. I'm crazy I guess ;)

The best buy was the Right Guard Deoderant that was $0.02. And the things that were Sold out that my DBF found on the wrong shelves. And parking places that were right up front. My favorite things were 32 oz bottles of coconut bubble bath for $1.00 at ULTA.

I went out on BF and did fair but not great. Maybe a lot had to do with the fact I wanted to go January to come, instead of shopping or maybe I just was not in the mood to shop but the whole thing annoyed me this year. My best deal was a $45.00 sweatshirt from JC Penney that DS wanted I ended up paying $10 for it this Friday.

I went out on Friday and my best buy was a $58 robe for my mother for $19. I got some other good deals for my dad and brother, but this was the best.

I got quite a few good deals on BF, but the best was a free computer ! all I had to do was sign up for 12 months of AOL at $15.00 a month which equals $180 !
OH and forgot to mention that the free computer came with a free printer !!!

PooohBear,

I saw that in the Circuit City ad. Hopefully you didn't run into the same problems that the walmart stores did with the $250 laptops that they had.

Free :earseek: details please.

My best deal was Welcome to Mooseport for $3.44 at Walmart :) I also got 2 Wallflowers refills for $5.00 each...

Best deal was the spongebob tv and dvd player bundle from Walmart for $100 (for my grandsons). Also got 2 boys dressy outfits, 2 dressy sweaters and infants dress for $90.00 That was a real buy since the regular prices were $44.00 each for the boys dressy outfits, $34.00 each for the sweaters and $60.00 for the dress. That was at Macy's. They were 50% off plus an additional 20% early bird special.

I knew about their $400+ laptops but not about any for $250?!

icebrat001,

Here is the Friday CC ad that had the free computer in it.

default.aspx

I got Star Wars Battlefront 2 for PS2 for $12.99!!!!

Here's what happened: we found the ad in the K-Mart section late yesterday afternoon. It was listed w/other PS2 games that were in the $20 range. We *think* they put the wrong game photo in the ad b/c Battlefront 2 is a new game and is going for $49.99 in all the other stores. We think they were supposed to run the plain Battlefront game in the ad but made a mistake. The games were part of their 2-day sale (not door busters).

Of course, we didn't venture to K-Mart b/c they NEVER have anything that they advertise ... or, if they do, they have only 3 of ea. item. Instead, we had family hit Wal-Marts near them and we went to two Wal-Marts in the area looking for that game b/c Wal-Mart will price match. The *only* Wal-Mart we didn't hit was about a 45 min. drive away. So, this morning, I called the "far away" Wal-Mart and asked if they had Star Wars Battlefront 2 for PS2. Sure enough, they did. I asked them to set it aside until I got there. They said they had a lot of copies ... but after all the running around I did, I told them what I went through and asked them to set one aside. They were kind enough to do so. So, this afternoon, Daxx, DS9 and I headed to the "far away" Wal-Mart to pick up the game. Daxx distracted DS9 while I went to get the game. I was sure they wouldn't let me have it at $12.99 and was ready to do battle. But when I got to the register, the kids (ok, they were about 18-21 yo) were AMAZED at the price! They were all shocked and kept saying "Wow -- this is a brand new game!" and were just stunned that the ad had it listed for $12.99. They just said "Well, if the ad says $12.99, we have to give it to you for that!" They matched the price and didn't question it at all. I wonder how many of those games were left after I left the store. I know that all the guys in the electronics dept. prob. scooped up the rest w/my flyer!!! I let them keep the ad (b/c they make you do that at our Wal-Mart) for proof, should they need it!

I was soooo happy b/c I really was not going to spend $49.99 on this stupid game!!!!! And, when DS9 gets it on Christmas, he will be in 7th heaven!!!

I don't know if K-Mart made an error in their ad or not ... but if they did, I send a hearty thank you for the screw-up to them!!!!! It was a treat to save that much $$ on the game!!!

I went out BF with my dd15. We started at 3:30 am and did really good. I got my son a winter coat reg. $140 for $58 as well as many more. My car was totally full by 10am when we called it quits. We had so much fun. We met a lot of really nice people in line.

Nuthin'!!!

We got up at 5, were at Wal Mart by 5:45 and the one thing I wanted there (the Gameboy for $48.88) was sold out by the time we walked in the door. Then we headed over to Target and I did get DD the doll she wanted (there were only 2 left on the shelf), but everything else there that had been advertised as a special buy was gone. We got the ONE and only buggy left in the parking lot. It was one of those made with a seat for 2 kids. Even though we left the kids at home, it was still pure you know what to push this thing around the toy aisle in there. If I had a dime for every time I said "Uh oh, I'm sorry" or "Excuse me, didn't mean to bump your butt", I wouldn't have to be there for the early bird specials! I could afford to shop at normal person hours!!!! :rotfl2:

Madness. Pure madness.

I will not go back next year.
I will not go back next year.

Well, maybe..........

Did your store have a quantity problem w/those laptops?

There was one woman that I talked to, who got to Wal-Mart at 11:30 pm on Thurs. night and camped out just to get that computer and, when she got in, they were all sold out. She didn't tell me exactly how many were in front of her, but she said she was very close to the front of the line. I guess our store had a quantity of only 25!!! Needless to say, that woman was mad!!!!! Can't say that I blame her -- esp. after camping out since 11:30 the night before!!!!

I think some of the walmarts only had like 10 of them and in some of the stores they actually closed the stores after the crowd broke the doors down to get in.

Yikes!

My bro. was at a different Wal-Mart and he said there was some "official, FBI looking guy" there and he (my bro.) asked a sales associate what was up w/the guy. She said he was from some national consumer board and is watching how they run their Black Friday b/c Wal-Mart has received many customer complaints w/regard to Black Friday in the past. Fom what this sales person told my bro., Wal-Mart *might* have to start printing "Quantity" notices in their Black Friday ads. For example, the laptops ... they *might* have to put "Quantity of 25 per store" -- just like Best Buy does. That way, people won't be disappointed when they show up at 9 am and they're all gone.

I guess b/c, even if they're "door busters" and the "door busters" are available until 11 am (or whatever the cut off time is), that people assume there will be enough for everyone who gets there w/in that time frame? I don't know ... I always figure I have to get there early b/c how many can they possibly have?!?! I mean, if they had enough to go around until 11 am, then who would you bother to get there early to wait in line and get in as soon as the doors open?!?!

I noticed in many of the ad's they did put in quantity notices. That's as it should be. Did people really think that if there were going to be 5000 people in line that EVERYONE would get a $250 lap top? It is designed to get you in the door. Is it fair? No. Is it right? No.

It used to be that a free premium was offered to a certain number of people. I remember a few years back that I got a Target gift card of up to $100.00 for being one of the first 100 people thru the door. The value was between $5 and $100. Now they just offer insanely low prices with really low quantites to get you in the door.
