Who remembers Art the Greeter???

Just found a pic of him from about ten years ago. He usually worked the Beach Club lobby, he was the nicest man!

Does anyone know how he is doing? Any cast members still in touch with him?

This was taken on his last day (hence the button and carnation he had. He'd been married for just a few years, I believe, and honeymooned at Vero Beach. I thought I heard that he passed away a few years ago. Forgive me if "the rumors of is death are grossly eggagerated".

I worked at the Yacht Club for a while and because the resorts are connected, I ran into Art regularly, but like him, I'm also a WDW retiree after 22 years.

Always enjoyed seeing Art when we walked into the Beach Club!!! Such a great smile!

Art was the kindest, warmest cast member I have ever encountered in WDW.

Staying at the Beach Club many many moons ago and walking through the lobby minding our own business my wife and I hear someone calling us, "Hey, please come over here"! At first we didn't know it was us he was directing his call to. We went over to "Art" and he says, "Hey I have something for you two, can you come back here in another 20 minutes?" My wife and I were totally perplexed but were like "sure"!?!? We came back and he had a card and a present for us congratulating us on our wedding anniversary! The present was a commemorative wedding pin! The crazy thing was we weren't wearing any kind of pin or button like people do now announcing what they are celebrating. The staff must have alerted him that we were but what we don't know is how he recognized who we were? It was a very special moment for us.

Art was a truly special and inspirational person. My wife and I were at the BC earlier this year, and we still mention Art when we enter the lobby- how it STILL isn't the same without him. If you were having any problems, he would brighten your day. If you were having a great day, he would brighten it even more......
