I've often wondered how many folks actually use those huge kitchens at OKW? And if you do, do you just do coffee and cereal in the AM, or the whole bacon and egg thing? And does anyone really make a regular supper? You know, peel potatoes, make a roast, steam vegetables, like that. Or do most people just get the one and two bedroom units for the extra sleeping spaces and room to move around? I ask this because the few times we were in these bigger units, we just made coffee, and couldn't help but notice the good condition the dishes and pots were in.

We use the kitchen in the one bedroom every morning for breakfast, usually cereal and toast, but 2 times during the week for eggs , French toast and bacon.

We also have lunch meat sandwiches, veggies and fruit, usually for lunch, but if we ate out for lunch, then for dinner whenever we return.

I have cooked frozen pizza, hot dogs and spaghetti. I don't mind cooking,as long as everyone in the family helps clean up and we have eaten one meal out that day.

We enjoy not having to be on the go all the time and since we usually go during the summer, it has been wonderful to have lunch in the room and wait until the rain stops. I might cook more elaborate meals if we went in the cooler weather, but we sometimes only eat two meals a day in the hot summer.

I do. That kitchen is a dream and I use it. I also use the studio kitchen with great efficiency now.

In the morning it's usually simple fare like cereal, cottage cheese, muffins, etc. If I'm "home" in the afternoon I'll fix a sandwich, salad or pasta. For dinner I've made everything from homemade lasagna, fajitas, baked chicken, steaks, homemade apple crisp, etc. WDW has terrific restaurants but it gets too expensive to eat all meals out.

I have only stayed at the BCV so far since being an owner, and I made good use of the kitchen. When we stay at OKW in April, I plan on using the kitchen, for breakfast everyday, and supper after a day at the parks. If we have a "resort" day, we will have all 3 meals in the kitchen.

That was one of the reasons we bought into DVC was having the kitchens. With a family of 5, eating out every meal in WDW can get pretty pricey. The kitchen amenity alone saves us a TON Of money.

When we stay at OKW we keep the fridge filled with cold drinks and the freezer stocked with ice cream treats (love that ice maker too!). We also make frozen pizzas in the oven and popcorn in the microwave. Breakfasts are often cereal and doughnuts.

We don't do much "real" cooking there, but then we don't do much at home either.

There is nothing better than the garlic smell of pig's feet boiling for hours.

I guess Nick aint got no pig's feet smiles...

We use it. We eat most breakfasts in, everything from pancakes and eggs to cereal, and at least a couple of dinners. It really cuts down on the cost. And with a toddler, it can be more relaxing to eat in!

we use the full kitchen all the time .. make breakfast. lunch and dinner sometimes... not the same day though.. why wouldnt u . well if u had lots of money than .. but we love it ..and i am a chef so i have to or the wife gets a little mad:rolleyes:

We haven't as of yet - but on our first trip home we plan on using it at least once a day - we plan on doing breakfast everyday but one in the room - will stock up on stuff for quick lunches and maybe something for dinner one/two nights.

We are going on a tight budget and with 2 teens we plan on eating a few meals in house - but don't get me wrong - if we are out and don't want to head back - of course we will eat out also

We do use it alot (especially when we bring guests who are on a budget). We always do a quick breakfast (bagels, cereal, etc.), but cook full blown dinners. Spaghetti, baked chicken, or fajitas (just like someone else already posted). It's great after a day in the parks (the kids get some down time). If the parks are open later, we usually have time to head back in around 7:00 or hit DD, the Boardwalk, or just relax for the evening in the villa.

Use the kitchens at every stay. I enjoy inviting friends over for a dinner, or wine and cheese/snacks when staying there. One of the benefits of being local, I guess.

Only thing we've ever used in the kitchen since 1992 has been the coffee maker.
Of course we'll store milk and soda in the Fridge, but that's about it...

We're with Uncleromulus, the only things we use in a DVC kitchen are the frig, the coffee maker and sometimes the toaster. There are too many great WDW restaurants for us to be eating in the room. For us eating at the restaurants is a very enjoyable part of a WDW trip.

We do!

We usually go with children and grandchildren and have found that it is much easier to eat in the room, especially with toddlers. Of course, DH likes to cook!
We eat most breakfasts in the room, lunch is out and dinners are mostly in the room . We go out 3/4 nights for dinner.

DH and I are going to be at OKW 2/14-2/18 and BWV 2/18-2/22 with our 13 year old DGS. This time, with the only the 3 of us, we will probably eat out most nights.

Only 10 more days to go!:Pinkbounc :bounce: :Pinkbounc

I do, I do!! We prefer to eat breakfast and dinner in our villa. We usually do the bacon/sausage/corn beef hash (YUCK!!), eggs, pancakes/french toast thing for breakfast. Only on occasion will the kids choose cereal. Dinners are fairly simple. Usually chicken parm, spaghetti, those chicken skillet sensations, frozen pizzas, tacos. On water park days, I will make PBJs and take drinks and snacks. We get ice cream there for a treat. We get so tired of Disney food and the kids get tired of burgers and chicken tenders!! We almost always eat out for lunch. Since we are going to be there for 10 days this trip we will be venturing out to the grocery store mid-trip. I don't want to bombard our Tiffany driver when we make that initial grocery stop!!:earsboy:

We retired folk use that kitchen every day during our extended winter stays. I think that explains the high number of us at OKW!

We use it quite a bit. With three little ones its much easier to just whip up something simple in the kitchen as oppossed to dragging them out to eat.
