Who Or What is this Devine Character?

This might be a dumb question and I've never been to AK but I saw many photos of a character named Devine. What or who is she?

We saw her back on a trip to AK in fall 2002. She is what I would call a performance artist. She can be easy to miss. She has a costume that has many ivy type leaves on it, so thick that you cannot see her underneath, even close up. It looks like she has 4 branches going down to the ground. When you see her standing against a wall, she really does look like a vine. It's only when she starts to move that you realize it is not a vine. She had a handler with her, we took a picture of her standing next to my DD, 7 at the time. Looking at the picture I would say the leaves extend about 8 feet high, maybe 4-6 feet across. The handler would not allow DD to touch her.

I wish I could remember where we saw her. Hope you can catch a peek.

Is she a robot or is she human with some kind of costume on?

She's on stilts!

We were walking through AK on our first day there and had never heard of her. All of a sudden, she came out from among a bunch of trees and started slithering/walking across the sidewalk right beside us, then "planted" herself in another group of trees. It was the coolest thing ever.

that sounds cool. I hope I see her when I go. She looks very interesting. I wonder if her legs are sore from walking around on those stilts

Devine is human but just on stilts. We saw her last year at AK and didn't even notice her. We have known about her for a couple of years now and have been trying to spot her.

Definatly keep on the lookout for Devine, she is really neat!! I love watching her walk, she has some neat moves!!

We go the first week in September and have always asked at the front where and when she will be out...

They almost always tell us to look for her between 11am and 1pm on the road between Egypt and Asia...

We think she is so neat! One time we were watching her and she walked down to the bathroom and just kind of leaned up against the wall. Well, there was a group of us watching and everytime someone came out of the bathroom, they would just stop and look at all of us like we were crazy people watching the bathroom to see who would come out!!!

It is funny to watch her for awhile and watch all the people jump when they are walking past and she starts to move!!!

Devine is a Dryad. A tree spirit. Or atleast thats the costume. She is a person on Leg and arm stilts, and is quite amazing to watch. I've always seen her just after crossing the bridge into africa, there is an alcove there... She's very cool, and seems to "flow" with movement. I hope you get a chance to see her.

She is amazing. I was totally entranced by her. I will see if I can find my pictures of her from March. I hope we can find her every trip!
