Who on the boards are "Native Californians"

Like, fer sure, y'know...I'm a native, too  Lived in Canoga Park/West Hills until I went to college in Claremont; after that, 3 years grad school in NYC, which convinced me it's a fun place to visit but I want to live in CA! Since then, it's been Monrovia, Camarillo (any of you Camarillo folks know St. Columba's Church?), Simi Valley, Rowland Heights, and now San Gabriel. Dh was born and raised in what's now North Hills, went to CSUN; we met when he was in Simi and I was in Camarillo. Both our sons were born in Anaheim :earsboy: :earsboy:

I'm a 4th generation Californian, something my parents seem very proud about! But, I live in New Jersey and consider myself an Easterner and much prefer the East. Yes, there are very few people with deep Californian roots.

!!!

Me! Born and being raised in San Mateo, California.

I plan on moving to L.A. as soon as I'm out of high school. I love L.A.

That's cool! What part of Santa Clarita are you in? We're in the old part of 'North' Valencia...off of Seco Canyon. I grew up on the boarder on Newhall and Canyon Country (over by Costco). I, and most of my siblings, did our time working at Magic Mountain when we were teenagers :)

Have you seen the new Walmart? I just found out yesterday that it's supposed to open in a few weeks! It's SO pretty, hopefully it will be a nice store!

I grew up in Redwood City on the SF peninsula, parents and Grandparent born in CA too. Moved to Oregon in 1995. Most of my family still there. My son makes 4th generation native. He was 8 months old when we moved.

I was born in San Francisco at St. Luke's hospital, but I lived in Ann Arbor for a year when when I was 6 years old (my father worked for Bechtel and was transferred), then I went to college in Davis I spent 3 months in Portugal when my Dad lived there for a year and now I live in Millbrae!

My husband is a third generation native Californian on his mother's side. He was born and raised in beautiful Monterey, Ca. They all attended Monterey high school. If his nephew attends Monterey High next year instead of RLS (where I am hoping he'll go) he will be 4th generation.

Our daughter was born at the Mills-Peninsula hospital in Burlingame and if any other Californian's think their real estate prices are extreme they should check out the San Francisco peninsula where we are only second to Honululu, Hawaii.

It is so funny they even have a Honda commerical about how crazy the real estate market is here. This young couple is driving around in their Accord and laughing at 3 bedroom 1.8 million dollar homes.

Nice to know there are so many native californian's on this board. :wave2:

Native Californian here too!

Born, raised, and now raising my family in Poway (San Diego area). While we love it here, we're looking at moving within the next year up to Boise. We just spent a week up there last month and fell in love with it. I never thought I would ever leave CA (what would I do about my Disneyland addiction?), but I guess sometimes we surprise ourselves.

Born in Long Beach, but moved to Texas when I was 5. To Iowa for about a year and then back here when I turned 10. Been here ever since and thats about 30 years;)

I am sooooo a native. Been born and raised right here in Anaheim. Actually live in the house I grew up in. When I was a kid I would look out from the upstairs bathroom window or roof to see the fireworks from DL at night. Still do that on occasion. But not as often.

I was born and raised in the High Desert. I've moved around Southern California a bit. I also lived in Georgia, Alabama & Flordia for small periods of time but no matter where I've been or go...I love California. This is where I belong!!

Mom born in Hollywood
Dad born in San Diego
Sister Pt Hueneme - 1955
Me Oxnard - 1957
Brother Los Angeles 1959

Im a native calafornian. Ive lived in so cali all my life. I live about 10 mins away from disneyland in norwalk. My mom and dad are also native californians too.

 I'm also a native Southern Californian. I was born and raised in Los Angeles and went to college at CSUN (communting from LA). Then moved to Paramount, and now live in Fontana.

I may not be a native, but I feel like one! We moved to Oakland from Ohio when I was 6 - been in NorCal ever since. Hubby is a many generation Californian - his ancestors help to found the east bay town of Dublin. Our sons were both born in Alameda. I can't imagine living anywhere else (I also can't imagine my kids ever being able to afford to buy a home here!)
