Who offers the best Conceirge?

We are planning our Feb. 2004 trip and are planning on staying at one of the resorts at Conceirge level. Can anyone offer advice on best conceirge service? For example best service, food, assistance with planning etc..
This trip will be myself and my DD (15).

I can't give you a personal experience, but I did a lot of research into this very issue. The two most often raved about were the POly and AKL. We chose AKL because of the rehab at the POly while we are there, but if the Poly was as usual, it would have been a much, much tougher choice. I don't know if you have read Deb Wills' site (wdwig.com) but there are many trip reports about concierge. ALso, there was at one point a thread on this board on Concierge experiences. It was up not that long ago, so paging back a few pages you should find it. I hope to see some responses to this too!

My DW & I truly enjoyed the BC concierge. The staff were terrific and the lounge was wonderful (although a little small). The food selections were excellent and the staff worked hard to keep things "stocked" -- as much as possible. The evening wine, cheese and desserts were great -- a fantastic way to end a Disney day.

We also liked WL concierge -- although they don't have a separate lounge; they use the open area on the 7th floor overlooking the lobby. They have a berry cobbler that is just this side of sinful!

From what I've read, most concierge experiences are good to great. Of course, there are always exceptions. I think whatever you choose you will have a terrific time!

For pre-planning services I would have to say YC/BC/BWI the planners there were so friendly, helpful, efficient and thoughtful.

AKL planners were good, but not as personal and friendly as the BC/YC/BWI.

AKL however has the most incredible open air lounge on the 6th floor looking over the 3rd floor lobby below.

The food & beverage offerings were excellent and plentiful, the staff extremely nice and of course you room can have a view of african animals on the savanna.

You can also participate in the Sunrise Safari that is only for concierge guests

I am staying at Beach Club Concierge soon and will post more details about it soon but I would highly recommend AKL.

AKL concierge is great!

We have stayed at AKL and the Poly. Poly concierge (after AKL) was a big disapointment. Stay was not friendly and the pre-trip planning was bad.

So far, for our BWI trip in October, the pre-trip planning has been wonderful! We are very excited about trying the BWI. We still hold some reserve. We can't imagine anything being better than AKL.

The saffari is a big bonus! Transportation is great at the AKL too!

We stayed at YC concierge in July and they were wonderful. Efficient PS reservations, answered questions quickly, checked into some questions we had about MGM park, great food and beverage selections, and lots of it. Although I booked the trip without much lead time, the concierge folks called me at home to arrange my PS, and they were as great in person as they were on the phone.

I have to go with the flow here...we really LOVED the AKL concierge. Food offerings were incredible and then there was the expresso/cappucino machine. The staff was excellent and most helpful. I wasn't too crazy about the rooms...kinda small and dark, but the safari views made up for it.

We liked the Poly concierge, but on our last visit (11/02) the lounge was always packed and the staff were not especially helpful (not rude, but they sure didn't hurt themselves either). We had stayed there twice before and it seems like the quality goes down a little with each stay.

I was really glad to see the positive comments on the YC and BC concierge services...seems all the reviews I had seen previously were not too positive. We would love to try one of them out. We have reservations this Nov. for WL concierge. Would welcome any comments/suggestions on their service, also room suggestions.

AKL Conci Wins!!!!!

No can beat that Expr./Cap. Coffee Machine and that incredible View. The photos of me on the AKL Conci. Trip make me look 10 years younger due to my happiness!

Polynesian! We've stayed at Poly concierge six times - including twice for New Year's (which is a BUSY time at WDW). Lounge is restful with a great view of the Castle. We usually begin the day early, and lounge was never overly crowded. We've found CMs to be nothing but gracious.

Lounge is accessible during the night, and it's a great place to read or watch TV if everyone else wants to sleep. Great views, short walk to all transportation. Also short walk to Captain Cook all-night restaurant, so you can bring back more "substantial" food to add to concierge goodies.

It's more than just a floor - it's the whole building.
