There is all the talk lately about him poaching. But if you realy knew his nature, that is not what he wanted.I am pro 2'nd ammendment and a life time member of the NRA.To know what he puts into the rights would baffle you!!

So please do some research before you vote.

3-other. I liked his song "Cat Scrath Fever" from the late 1970s or so. Other than that, I have no interest in him. But I don't dislike him nor object to his views.

He's free to his own opinions as are we all. However, this is a non-political board and this is a political thread.

I have a lot of respect for the guy. He lives with his values. He believes in hunting but it's part of his living off the land thing. What he kills, he eats, no waste. He's funny.
I'm a bit creeped out about his much younger wife and her adoption.

Other.....

Stranglehold is the most awesome song ever.:cool2:

Love his book "Kill It and Grill It". I think it is one I am going to buy in case of Zombie Apocalypse. I have looked it over and it is interesting.

I have heard him on the radio & TV and appreciate his ideas with the environment.

I'd like him a lot better if he lived the values he preached. He didn't do drugs and I'm good with hunting. But the Nuge is a draft dodger who divorced his first wife, used his money to get custody of the kids and had his 19 yr. old girlfriend raise them. While married to wife #2, he fathered a baby with another woman which he only recently acknowledged. Now he has a hunting farm guaranteeing a kill - translation: animals have nowhere to run.

Everytime I see him talk about morals, I agree with it but don't "hear" it coming from that hypocrite.

I used to like his music when I was a teenager, but now I don't think it has much depth. I don't agree with many of his viewpoints. I always liked the hair though! :hippie:

Well, I have to go with 3 since he was my uncle's best man (obviously they are very close friends). He also played a wedding march, of sorts, on his guitar and wore buckskins when everyone else wore a tux...The toast to the bride and groom even ended with some politics. BUT he was also very gracious, down to earth, etc. He even complimented my singing...though after hearing HIM, that may not have been a compliment I want!:lmao: I appreciate many things about him and disagree with others. Pretty much like everyone else I've ever met...

I could be wrong, but I think Ted is very anti drug. He might drink a lot, though. :lmao:

And I agree... Stranglehold is one of the best songs ever made. It is far and away my favorite song by him. Funny thing though is that he is NOT the singer of that song, and he actually fired the singer of that song because in Ted's eyes, the guy was getting too popular because of that song.

All that said, I can't stand the guy on a personal level. But I have seen him in concert twice, before I knew what he was like.

I waited on him once in the 80's. I worked in a truckstop along I-10 in North Florida. He was on tour and they had stopped for gas and food. He was very unassuming (I knew who he was because DH was a huge fan, but obviously he didn't want me to broadcast the fact). The restaurant had dead animal heads hanging on the walls and he browsed around looking at them while he waited for his coffee.

My DH was VERY upset that I didn't call him up and have him come down to meet him.

If all of this is true, he sounds like a person from the political party he doesn't belong to. He would fit in well, in that party.

Nah, I don't apply these standards to the political party, only Nugent because he preaches about character…I used to watch Surviving Nugent. :rolleyes1

I'm a Nuge fan. He's a bit unorthodox but being who I am, I have to respect it. He's just the Nuge, what can I say?

He gives me the creeps, always has - I'm talking about his performances. I did buy his cookbook for my BIL who is an avid hunter.

I really don't know that much about him and don't feel the urge to find out. I know he's a musician, of sorts, and a pro-gun activist, which is okay by me. From what I've seen and heard, he may be a little too far to the right for my liking.
