Who knew choking each other would earn us fastpasses?

It may sound crazy, but I actually love those really hard summer rains! Sometimes when it does that I home I go out in my backyard and dance in the rain. My kids (and I'm sure my neighbors) think I am nuts! So I would have loved sitting on your porch watching the rain! Can't wait to hear about Hoop Dee Doo!

Good morning!! I just had to pop in and tell you how much I'm enjoying your trip report. It's a good thing it's slow at work :thumbsup2. Reading your trip report is definitely getting me in the mood for my next trip. It's always cool to find someone on the DIS that's also from La.

TSM is my family's favorite attraction at DW there is no way I could take pictures I gotta play the game :woohoo: and keep my undefeated record going ;).Your way of getting to Hoop Dee Doo Review is exactly the way we go. Bus ride, boat ride and a walk, three trips in one.:thumbsup2

I can tell you for a fact that you'd have no problem keeping your undefeated record going if you and I were in a TSM battle! I am not good at any video game. I think I scored a 2 :rotfl2: when Hunter got his Guitar Hero several years ago. I only tried once and that was enough.

We've seen Hoop 3 times and each time we went via bus to MK, boat and the walked to Ft. Wilderness. I was afraid if it was raining too hard, we wouldn't want to take the boat because we'd get wet. So, in my mind, I was running different scenarios to get us there.

YUM! That lunch looks great. Those cupcakes look to die for. What kind was yours. It looks super good.

It was some kind of spice type cake and had cinnamon sugar on top. It was very good.

I love doing that too as long as there is no lightning. Our front yard is sloped and, when it rains really hard, it makes a small stream. I have lots of pictures of Hunter and Lacey running and playing and splashing around.

Another great update! I'm loving the CBR pictures.....

Thank you! As you know, the CBR is simply beautiful and the pictures do not do it justice.

Welcome! I am beyond ready to head back to WDW. I need to start a pre-trip report and that's why I have been an updating fool lately. I love meeting "neighbors" on the Disboards too.

Hello! Savanah'sMom
I have family in Lockport! My mom's family is from the area....;)

Good Friday Lisa!
great resort walkthrough...I read on one of the web pages I was re-searching that the CBR (like POR) does not have elevators. It appears from your pictures that the bldgs are only two story, if so than I guess that should not be too bad. My creaky knees DO NOT LIKE stairways. Especially carrying a sleeping child, since Danny would have to carry the stroller.

Have a great day! and weekend....
thinking I may start a PTR Monday to get help with ADR's since we are doing the DDP for the first time!
:wave2: Connie

A Magic Kingdom bus arrived soon after we got to the bus stop. It was a little crowded when it pulled up but there were plenty of seats open because lots of people got off at the Jamaica stop. We made the loop around the rest of the resort and we were off to the Magic Kingdom.

As we approached the Magic Kingdom bus stop, the bus driver stopped in the road and was talking to a couple who were walking in the middle of traffic! He was telling them that it wasn't safe to walk in the median and that there was a crosswalk that they were to take. The couple looked at the bus driver like he had three heads and kept on walking. The bus driver yelled out the window that they needed to take the crosswalk! I saw him get on his radio and I heard him tell someone about the couple. I don't know who he was talking to but I heard him say "that's dangerous".

We pulled into the bus stop and the bus driver dropped us off at the nearest stop that he could. He made sure to tell us that this wasn't the CBR stop and to remember that on our way back to the resort later that evening. We got off the bus and started walking towards the boat dock. There were two castmembers "drawing" Mickey and Goofy with brooms:

Cool!

We made it to the boat dock and waited with about 5 or 6 other people. I took pictures while waiting:

I can not begin to tell ya'll how very glad we are that we no longer have to take the ferry boat to the Magic Kingdom. Back in the day when we stayed offsite, we had to take the ferry and it was a pain in the rear end. I absolutely hated waiting to get on the boat in the evenings. :scared1:

The boat docked and we were allowed to boat once the other guests had disembarked. I took more pictures while we waited and on our way over to the Wilderness Lodge:

My hair was really doing a number that day because of the humidity so I had it clipped with a barrette:

Hey Connie, there are no elevators at the CBR but the stairs are easy to get up and down because they are wide and have a stop in the middle so you can catch your breath if you're carrying Ashton.

Let me know when you start the pre-trip report because I will want to read along.

Well, the boss picked up the phone before I could get in his office so I'll try and post the Wilderness Lodge pics. Soon, we were at the Wilderness Lodge dock and walking up the walkway towards the resort.

The only reason we were making the stop at WL was so that Mama could see it. Mama said, while it was a very pretty resort, it didn't look like someplace she'd ever want to stay. I don't know if the resort fails to impress us because we live in a log home and it's not unique to us or what. Having said that, the resort is absolutely beautiful and I would love to have my house decorated like the WL.

I took more pictures inside the lodge but some didn't turn out very good because it was dim in the lobby:

Hunter had to rum Humphrey's nose for good luck:

I guess this is the only picture I took inside the store and it's not very Wilderness Lodgy at all:rolleyes::

SANY3629.jpg

John found a Wilderness Lodge t-shirt that he liked and I found a pair of earrings. Hunter didn't find anything that he wanted. I don't think Mama did either. We made our purchase and walked back out into the lobby:

**Okay, so I really need to stop here.

As usual I love all the pictures, especially the ones of the seven seas area. So pretty there:cloud9:

And, one thing led to another and we started getting sillier and sillier:

We were laughing so hard and were getting a few looks from other people who probably thought we were being serious. But, we didn't care. We were having fun choking each other. I know! I know! Who can have fun while choking somebody? Well, we can!

Just reading through your report and LOVE how much fun you guys all have! thanks for sharing!:rotfl::rotfl:

Hi Lisa! I love, love, love the Wilderness Lodge!!! We always make sure we have an ADR for the Whispering Canyon! Yummy!!! It's such a beautiful resort! Would love to stay there someday! I can't wait to hear about the Hoop Dee Doo!! I have always wanted to try it! Hope it was good and fun!!!

BTW, how is the weather down there? It has been snowing like crazy here again! We just got 18 inches the other day. Getting another inch today. Tuesday into Wednesday we are suppose to get another "major" storm, but they don't know if it will be snow, a mix or rain! :scared1: I am so tired of winter, the cold and snow!!! Bring on Spring and Summer!!!! :cool1:

I love doing that too! Haven't been able to do it as much since I moved to a busier street, but I used to go out and dance in the rain all the time. We never have very powerful storms here, especially not where I used to live, so even with lightning I'd go out. I'd just lay flat on my back on the ground and watch the lightning. Figured I wouldn't get hit if I was the lowest thing, and far from lone trees and stuff. :rotfl:

When I saw this (before reading the text) I thought he was acting like Donkey from Shrek! :rotfl:

I am anxiously awaiting HDDR! My plan is to go from AK to WL prior to our ADR. I want to see WL since I have a lot of friends that love it there! I want to see it in person.

We loved POR so hopefully you will enjoy your two nights there! I think we check in at POFQ the day you move to CBR...unless you have changed plans!

I love watching storms too and playing in the rain. I remember hot summer evenings in upstate NY, sitting on my Aunt Maria's porch and watching the storms move through. Love the sound of the rain in the trees. I found the storms during the rainy season in Panama to be the best. You could see them moving across the sky like a wall of water. And when they hit, it could literally go from a small stream to a gushing river in a matter of minutes. Such are the rains in a rain forest. A wonder to see.

Looking at all your pictures is getting me very excited since we will be there around the same time frame this year (June 5th-11th). This will be the first time in the summer. I'm used to fall weather no heat and no rain. I need to see if I can figure out how to start a ticker. Can't wait to see how HDDR goes!

Woah! I had a busy week, so I couldn't DIS much and I was WAY behind!

It sounds like you had a really special unplanned day at HS. I had seen some of the comments before I read your update and I was thinking... Is Hunter old enough to be a volunteer in the show? I didn't know the age.

That is totally cool that he got to do the show!

Ben really loves the Backlot Tour, the rest of us can pass. We were at the total opposite viewing of the show- you were there as it opened. In July, we literally arrived when they were pulling the chain across the entrance to the waiting area and we barely made it. The people a few steps behind us did not!

You definitely need to check out the Boneyard. It can get really hot there. My youngest is a dino lover, so it is fun to see him there. I have a hilarious inadvertant picture of Nate here when he was really tired. He is straddling a triceratops and unfortunately the picture is not fit to post on a family forum.

I think that rainstorm you described at CBR was just Disney's way to make you really feel like you were in Jamaica. Sounds just like a storm in the Caribbean.

May I borrow your "That's a wrap" picture for my trip report. I am an installment or two away from the end, and funny thing is, when I woke up this morning, I thought that's how I would like to end it. Then I saw your picture! I went through a period when I was "borrowing" photos from the DIS and putting them in my photo albums. Not a lot, but mostly decent shots taken inside rides since I don't use a flash when I am on attractions. Friends would get annoyed with me looking through the pictures. Is that yours? Is that one?

Sending you a PM about the brown and green backsack and an idiot button. I'm at 99% of my message space now (lots of Beach Club stuff), so I hope you don't mind using e-mail to contact me. I will try to clear a message or two if you prefer to work that way.

Dee

Goodness, I was PAGES behind! You've been so quick on the updates! Loving it!!! What a great way to start the day. :goodvibes

How AWESOME that your "16 year old" got chosen to be part of the Backlot Tour! I would love to do that sometime, get all that water splashed on me-what an experience!

I took a picture of these gold coins thinking that I would go back and see if there were any hidden Mickeys anywhere amongst them:

SANY3542.jpg

I see one in there! Lower left corner. The head is a gold coin and the ears are 2 silver ones.

I LOVE that you took Hunter to the Honey, I Shrunk the Kids Playground! Do you by chance have the pics of him in there when he was 3? It would be so fun to compare! I hope to do the same with Henry when he is 13...though, I'm guessing by then it will be re-themed. :rotfl:

This is my favorite because we call that "Henry's Slide" and you have done exactly what I want to do with him as he grows up. So, so sweet!!! And what a good son you have for humoring his Mom!

100_4007.jpg

See, there's hardly any cover for the guests to stand under.

YES! I have been squeezed under there myself when it was raining! They are small!

All your CBR pics made me tell Joe this morning, "Next time we stay in a Mod, we are doing CBR!" And your lunch :faint: man! it looks delicious!!!

Great Wilderness Lodge pics too! Did you go there just to check it out/shop? I looooooove the WL, just seeing your pics made me grin like a fool. We don't have anything like that around here (obviously!), and it's just so peaceful to me. I really look forward to staying there again someday.

Hope you are having a great weekend!

Lisa- I love your photos from the boat ride to WL. It's funny that you say it reminded you how much you didn't like to take the boat because it reminded me how much I DID like taking the boat to MK! :rotfl:
