I was going through my autograph books and then I saw Flora Long. Who is that? I have no clue and WDWAUTOGRAPHS doesn't say any Flora? Please tell me!!!!! Also who is Claire DE Lene? She's also in my book!!! What about Jonny Ringo?

I didn't know the name flora long, but I just found it through google. Yay. I love it when I can figure out the right combo of words to find what I'm looking for. All I found, though, was a pic with a caption. Apparently a CM posting a blog. It says, "This is me as Flora Long getting ready for the Hoop Dee Doo Review!" I think I'll go look for the others.

I haven’t found anything for Claire DE Lene. But I found a few things for Claire de lune. I wonder if the handwriting in the signature can account for the difference. Even so, it isn’t more than a lead that maybe some other Dis detective can pick up on. The first two google results said:

But both were unavailable when I clicked to see the actual pages. Rats.

After that most of the responses were related to the Clair de Lune segment of Fantasia, which I suppose might also be a clue, but seemed less likely to me.

I hope someone else can figure this one out and post an answer.

They are all characters from the Hoop-de-doo Revue:

'The Pioneer Hall Players include three couples - Everybody's Sweetheart Flora Long and her beau, Jim Handy, the handsome cowboy; dancers Claire de Lune (she of the squeaky, tuneless voice) and Johnny Ringo; and the down-home comic relief of Dolly and Six Bits Slocum.'

I found even less of a clue about Jonny Ringo, unless maybe he is another character in the same show as Flora Long. There is a historical figure named Jonny Ringo, who was mixed up in some real life troubles that got him a reputation as an outlaw in the "wild west". And the movie Tombstone puts him right into the plot as a villian, although in real life he probably had nothing to do with the gunfight at the OK corral. Maybe we'll get lucky and a CM who has played the part will sign on and see your question.

Hey Nickey! Yep, sad to admit that I don't even know who they are! I haven't been to the Hoop-de-Doo since 1998 - maybe I should book it so I can get some more autographs from these characters!
