Who is watching "Roots" on Hallmark Channel?

Just watched episode 1 of Roots last night. I haven't seen it since it first came out. I don't think I fully understood the horrible suffering those slaves endured the first time I watched it. This time I really "get" it, and although it's very interesting, it's also very disturbing.

Thank God we've come a long way since then.

Yes, my 12 year old son and I watched it last night. We're planning to watch it together each night.

I remember my sister and I watching with my parents when it first came out. I was in the 4th grade.
