Who Is Resurrecting All These Old Threads???

And why???? :confused3

I am not sure what threads you are referring to, but I do like your quotes in your signature. I actually needed one of them today. Thanks.

It should be fairly easy to figure out, in order to bump a thread you have to post. Whoever posted last or was the first post after months of inactivity is the person resurrecting the posts. Why someone would do that... could be they still think it's relevant, could be they did a search for a subject and they never looked at the date of the original and just posted to the thread, could be someone just stirring the pot.

Maybe they are bumping to get some threads off of the 1st & 2nd & 3rd pages. Who knows. :confused3

I don't see anything wrong with bringing up old threads. :confused3
if you don't want to see it, just don't go into the thread.

it's like the tv, if you don't like what's on one channel, move on

:stir:

I am ALWAYS suspicious when a newly-registered poster makes his/her first post on a thread that had no activity for many months. :rolleyes2

It's not that I don't want to see it--the thread interests me--I go and read the OP and then decide to respond..only to see that I already have done so.

It's when I almost do that to one of my posts that someone bumped up that I realize that I really wonder about myself! :rotfl:

I wondered that myself! But in at least two of the cases they were the OP that had bumped them to add an update or pictures.

If there is a check mark next to the thead, that will let you know yo posted to that thread.

The WHO is easy the why is subject to the WHO explaining it.

The why to me is why does it matter? On a fast moving board like this it'll be on the third page in a minute anyway.

My thoughts exactly. I haven't resurrected any old threads, but I could care a less if anyone else does. Besides, like you said, it'll disappear soon anyway.

Suspicious of what?

I've had a few of my old threads brought back to life and the poster was someone with little or no posts. I don't really get it. :confused3 Why would someone do that and then not post to any other threads? It doesn't make me suspicious, it just makes me :confused3

I think some of those posters may do a search and not realize how old the thread is. I think a small percentage of them are :stir:. An old thread to me is one that hasn't had posts in at least a month, not those that fall back to page 3 or even 10.

Whenever I've resurrected an old thread, I always explain why.

But I know what you mean. I saw a thread, wondered why the OP posted the same thing from a year ago, then realized that someone had resurrected it. They weren't pot stirring, but it was still kind of silly.

And luvflorida knows that I suspected her of registering an alias and then bumping her own thread... :rotfl2:
