Who Is Ready For Some Snow This Weekend?

They're predicted snow and ice here in DFW. Once temps go below freezing Friday night, they won't go back above until Monday morning. And we might not be working in the office Monday (luckily, I can work remote if need be).

We've had snow for months now.

Same. I’m south of Buffalo, our winter weather is a target for all the late night talk show hosts jokes.. We’ve lived thru 6+ feet in 24 hours, the totals so far this year have been a breeze. We’re going down to -13 F (-25 C) this weekend, so right there with ya!

I feel for people living in areas not prepared for this weather tho. When communities don’t have plows or material to treat the streets, it’s so dangerous. Hope everyone stays safe.

You should drive up Saturday morning and get a hotel for 2 nights.
If only we could! No one is available to watch our dog until Monday. We're just going to keep our eyes on the forecast for now. I'm already nervous about it but my husband is unflappable. He says he has seen too many Snowmageddon predictions that turned out to be nothing.

I say bring on the yearly snow/ice storm. Living in the south I miss snow... of course when I lived in the PNW, after a few months of freezing temps, ice, and snow I would welcome sunny days and warm weather.

Our weather forecasts for the south are constantly changing. So we could get anywhere from .5"- 10" this weekend. I will get excited the closer we get to Friday. What concerns me is the potential for ice and the impact that below freeing temps will have. Although if it means that work is closed... What's more important is that if campus is closed due to weather that when it reopens, that the heating system works.

My wife and in laws are really excited for whatever is coming.

I made sure the generator started yesterday, bought enough gas to run some of the house for 24 or so hours.

My wife and in laws have made evacuation plans if the ice really comes in the 1 to 2 inch variety. Will be heading to family in Savannah.

Usually we get cold ,a snow storm than nothing snow storm . This year it feels like everyday.

Tomorrow they are calling for another 15-20 cms. Where we are putting is another story.

Foothills of NC here. We’ve heard an inch or two of ice to 2 feet of snow. Depends on who you ask. We lit the gas logs today and started the generator. Going tomorrow for a bit more gas and a few groceries. I pray it’s not bad as our son is an electrical lineman. He has 3 small kids at home including a less than 1 month old baby. I hope his wife isn’t at home alone with the kids. Also worry about my parents but they live really close to my brothers and they will take care of them. Prayers for everyone to be safe.

YDS is looking forward to a snow day. The snow is pretty when it falls, but then it turns to brown slush. We do not own a snowplow because we usually do not get that much snow in a year. We do have snow gear. The last time I wore it was two years ago in Iceland, lol. At least we can all get out and shovel, or borrow the neighbor's snowplow.

People here freak out hard when even a light dusting is predicted. I anticipate all the TP in local stores will be gone by the end of the week. People act like we will be snowed in for weeks and buy everything like they did with COVID. It's kind of funny unless you need TP.

I enjoy spring, summer, and fall here, but am not a fan of cold weather, especially snow.
