Shannon, you either have no TV or have been under a rock for a week! Lucky you!
Even my poor son is inundated with the promos for this show on HIS shows! I'm willing to bet that Fox put more money in this fiasco than anything they've done outside of sports!
That Heidi chick has to go. I just saw pictures of Evan Marriott in nothing but speedos and it was not pretty.... he is so hairy. If I had any kind of crush on him before... I certainly dont now! BLECH!
I live under a rock. The only thing my kids let me watch on tv is cartoon network, disney, and the occasion I Love Lucy or Cosby Show. Sometimes we watch Friends.
I've also never watched Dr. Phil, any of the Survivor shows, Who Wants to be a Millionaire, the Bachelor, etc. I live under a perpetual rock.
You know what part cracked me up the most? After the last necklace was given out and Alex McLeod said "Those that didn't get a necklace, leave the chateau now". I kept waiting for her to say "and don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out". At least on the Bachelor they asked the girls to say their goodbyes before they leave! It seemed pretty harsh to me!
Did Alex sound a little "snobby"? I mean she didn't have an accent or anything, but her speech pattern seemed to be clipped, like she was trying to be British without an accent (does that make sense?).
How can a guy that is in construction with a particular skill (operating heavy equipment is a skilled position with a fairly high demand) earn so little money? I mean, the people who hold the slow/stop signs for road crews probably earn more than $19K a year. Does that mean he is a slacker who doesn't try to earn more? Or What?
Alex sounded funny to me too. I kept saying to my friends... she sounds snobby or something... totally different speech pattern then she had on Trading Spaces.
Alex was putting on the air of mystery that Jeff Probst (Survivor) and Chris Harrison (The Bachelor) do right before someone is voted off. I'm pretty sure she was told by the director to put on that air.
As for the salary he makes, I thought 19,000 sounded rather low also, but as I learned by moving from NY to GA, each state has it's own salaries. Maybe that's what they pay in Virginia. Does anyone know?
Yikes! Thanks for the link. I have to take a cold shower!
I watched the show while talking to a friend last night. She called it "Joe Doofus and the Bimbettes". We'll be watching next week too .
My favorite parts were when some of the women could not say a bad thing about him, even the "experts" at things. One said that she rode horses a lot and was impressed on how well Joe D. rode (it was his first time on a horse!) and another said that she was a good dancer and that Joe D. was "smooth" (he just about tromped on their toes). I also liked the one woman who was said "I'm too pretty to be in the *bleep* ugly purple dress!". And then there was the woman who was crying after she was not picked "I guess I'll have to find my Prince Chraming somewhere else!" ... I thought "Honey, you're one of the lucky ones! You don't have to make a fool of yourself for 2 more months."
I watched....and it was interesting to say the least.....Zora after the dress stampede....came out smelling like a rose...I'm glad she got pearls....Heidi is a witch....
It was funny watching him ride the horse....if you have ever riden horses before and watched him it was clear that he was a beginner....but then they did say he just inherited the money...so they could explain that he just learned how to ride....
