wHO IS OUR GUIDE?

We have spoken a dozen times or so over the last couple of years with a particular guide at DVC and we finally made a decision to purchase however we went the "resale" road.

Will our guide be the original guide the sellers had or do we use the guide we have spoken to in the past?

I do feel somewhat bad we didn't purchase direct DVC however based on what I had been reading about BCV here on the DIS and a great resale that became available at BWV (same locale) we would have been crazy not to try resale, if it doesn't work out we plan to purchase BWV direct from DVC after June 1 when the public is allowed! Unfortunately, we won't have as many points!

To get back to my original question however - WHO IS OUR GUIDE?

My guess is that if you buy resale, then DVD will assign you a guide. If you want the same one, I'm sure they'd be happy to give you to that person. You might already be cross-referenced in their computer with that guide anyway, in which case they'd leave you with him/her unless you strongly request otherwise.

You wouldn't need a guide to buy resale.....so to make sure I understand, why do you need/want to know? The guide is there really just as a sales person...he/she would be the one you would talk to if you wanted to purchase points. But if you don't want to buy any more points, you won't need to talk to your guide again.

I've owned DVC almost 4 years, I bought over the phone using a friend's guide, who has since left DVC (Bruce Ladd). I've never talked to a guide since. While I was at OKW last week, I got a message on my work e-mail from Susie at DVC advising me of the new BWV points available and to call if I was interested. I've received some DCV promo mail signed by her, so I assume she is now my guide. Maybe it was best I did not get to talk to her last week when she called, it might not take much to push me over the edge for more points.

why I want a guide! Special Promo's etc.... - When SSR is available, I may want some points, it sounds like it will be great! Also, if I have questions and the DIS can't answer (yah right! ) I will have someone to call.

I am definitely cross referenced to a guide, Randy Kruger, who I might say is awesome, for 3 years, I have annoyed him, I will, I won't, I will, I won't - Finally, someone slapped me and said enough talking, just do it and here we are!

Waiting to hear on our resale! For much more then I would have paid if I just listened to Randy in the first place! You know what they say, live & learn

mitcam...if you are already attached to Randy in the DVD computer, he will be your guide, I'm sure.

Though not every guide will do what DebbieB described. I haven't heard from my guide in the year and a half since I signed, except for a recent postcard "mass mailing" pushing BWV points.

Sounds like Randy will be a good fit for you. Enjoy!

I bought an OKW resale and received a call and letter from an assigned guide at some point after the closing. He was a different guide though than the one I had just bought BCV points from so it's possibly random. The only difference is DW and I are joint on the resale but I'm solo on the BCV contract.

As I understand it, you would get the guide who is currently assigned to that contract, not necessarily the guide you've spoken to in the past.

Well now that makes sense, I didn't even think about that.... Just wish now I had a good reason to call him like an addon.
