Who is going to the savedisney.com meeting in Philadelphia?

If one of my ebay auctions does TREMENDOUSLY well. Then maybe I Can afford to buy a share from OneShare.com

and then I can show up at the meeting, and be all "Mr. Deeds" and save the company personally. Then I will run Disney for a few years, fix everything, take a multimillion dollar buy out, build myself a mansion somewhere near WDW, take a lifetime pass for me and my family, and retire gracefully.

and then I'll wake up :(

I plan on being in Philly for the shareholder meeting next month - depending on work, I may make it to the rally the night before. This is my first time driving into the city and knowing my luck I'll get lost. Keeping my fingers crossed!

I'm guessing that the event will be well attended.

Just remember..... if you go over any BIG bridges, you're in Jersey :-)

I am also in NJ, but I am taking that train in, Patco? Then I can't get lost.

...where are they holding it ?

Nevermind. March 2nd, 1200 Market Str. Lowes Hotel

Checked my work schedule, checked with my wife, all systems go.
Any more specifics such as time? Do they have a hall rented? How many people are expected? Do you know if this Lowes Hotel is a good place to stay? Are the rates reasonable? And most importantly, do they have a bar that stays open late? " :teeth:

Just don't eat the food! They just had reported cases of food poisoning on 2/7. A big function there and a big mess

I'm in NJ, would consider going, but really don't want to take the day off from work. Would rather save the vacation day for Disney World....

4:00 pm start.
I assume they have some type of ampitheatre, but I've not been in the hotel.
No idea.
Never stayed there, but the do have a pets welcome policy.
No idea.
They have a bar in the lobby...forget what the name is. More importanly, catty-corner (sp?) to the hotel is Reading Terminal, on the corner is the hard rock cafe, and more importantly, inside the RT is the Independence Brew pub.

Roy's meeting is at the Lowe's Hotel. Go to http://www.gophila.com to find a place to stay, if you need to.

I plan on attending both Roy's rally on the 2nd and the stockholder's meeting on the 3rd. Since I live just outside the city, I will probably take the train. Catch a ride in with dad on the 3rd, taking the train home, then driving back down for the Flyers game! ugh!

If you're going, please be sure to RSVP, per Roy's site:

"Don't Forget to RSVP
We'd like to be able to accommodate all those wishing to attend the March 2 briefing. Please RSVP to us so we can gauge the crowd size adequately.

Send us an e-mail to rsvp@savedisney.com and in the subject line only, write the number of people attending. Responding does not guarantee admission but will allow us to better prepare for the day. Please do not email us more than once. Actual admission is on a first come, first served basis. Thanks for taking the time to inform us."

For everyone coming into Philadelphia to attend the various meetings, please be aware that there are a few other groups in town because of Disney:

1) Pennsylvania PIRG to protest Disney the Media Giant and the situation where a handful of corporations now control the media and most importantly, the news. I think they're protesting Disney AND Comcast.
2) A Fundie Christian group protesting Disney's failure to exclude the homosexuals on the Gay Pride at WDW day.

Things haven't been potentially this interesting in center city since the republican convention in 2000. :cool2:

p.s. bring and spend lots of money....no money spent in philadelphia will directly contribute to the Ei$ner executive bonus fund.:hyper:
