Ok, someone else started a thread about MNSSHP already, and I can't go to that, but I am hoping to get to Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party again this year. Anybody else? We are reserved for Nov 29 thru Dec 17, though we will probably trim a few days from that. Assuming we can go at all, we will certainly be there for Dec 7-11 since Mom is joining us those dates. Never done MVMCP with Mom so the 10th may be the night we shoot for. Then HDDR and Christmas looping on another night. Illuminations on another. Fantasmic! on another. Shoot, I'm outta nights already! Man, I need to tighten up my planning! Only 273 days 'til Christmas!

November: 10, 12, 13, 17, 19, 20, 29, 2009
December: 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, 10, 11, 13, 15, 17, 18, 2009
Tickets go on sale May 1, 2009

Here are a few pics to get you in the mood (or, maybe they're to get me in the mood)!

Not as of this minute... who do I pay to get hired?

We are wanting too!!

We took our first WDW vacation in November 2008 - went to MVMCP one night. We had a lot of fun. I think the highlight for us was the Tremaines Dance party. It was just too cute watching my twins dance with Lady Tremaine herself. And then Drizilla dragged my DH on the dance floor. The site of him doing Travolta fingers was worth the admission. :)

I wish this picture of my DDs with Lady Tremaine had come out better - but my camera is a dual video & digital. This was the first time I tried snapping pics while video taping, and I found the quality of the pic isn't great. Thankfully the video still came out well.

We have our 2nd WDW vacation scheduled for 11/14th - 11/21st, and staying at FW this time around (cabin). I'm hoping to fit in two nights at MVMCP. WE don't see snow much around here, and my DDs got excited watching it "fall" down Main Street. The castle with the lights - was just breathtaking.

I'm sad.... we're not going to be there for MVMCP this year. Going in early Nov. to take advantage of our APs. I'll definitely miss this.... :sad1:

For those of you who have attended MVMCP in the past, can you give me some info about it. I see that it requires a separate admission and occurs on select nights. Does that mean they close Magic Kingdom just for this event? Is the entire park open for rides while you are there for the MVMCP? Is it very crowded?

I read about the snow, the lights on the castle, the parade, but we saw all of this when we went into the park with our regular admission ticket. What's the difference?

We arrive on the 17th and can't wait.

count me in :goodvibes. I will be staying in a cabin after i get off my cruise from 12/17- 12/20  MVMCP on 12/17 :yay: cant wait

Hey Shan-man,

We are from Raleigh and have almost the same ressies as you..... we should car-pool! Do you think you could tow my RV Behind you?

We're scheduled to arrive on the 29th and leave on the 14th. I'm hoping we don't have to make any adjustments due to the economy!

I'm not sure if we're going to splurge on the MVMCP. We are already buying five 10 day passes plus one or two days at one of the other parks in the area. Knowing myself though, come Sept., I'll pull out the plastic and make the call.

Happy Travels!

It is a separate ticket, about $50 each, but the cool thing is you can use your ticket starting about 4pm and the party goes to midnight so you can just do a lazy day around camp and you get a "day's worth" of MK for less than a day's admission... that's how I look at it anyhow. All non-partiers are ejected about 7:30 and the park gets much emptier! Not everything in the MK is open, but most of the big rides are. The two times I have done the party the rides were basically walk-on (even Pirates, Splash, and BTM!), so the crowds were quite low. There is a special Christmas Wishes fireworks show, and the Christmas parade... both of which are only done on MVMCP nights (and Christmas Day, IIRC). There are also some special shows and dance parties. And "free" cookies and cocoa (or apples and cider). One of the thing I enjoyed most is the short lines for characters. One thing I would highly recommend is eating before going. There are not many food options on party nights, and you don't want to waste that time eating anyhow. popcorn::

Shan-man,

Did you go to the Star Wars weekend?

santa-imperial-troopers.jpg

That's an interesting shot! Did you know that the Strategic Air Command had Stormtroopers? They arrested me for violating airspace over SAC Headquarters near Omaha and were going to detain me until the OIC gave me a provisional clearance. Those were some nervous moments!

I can give y'all a ride inside, but I plan on towing a trailer this trip. Mom has already agreed to let us borrow her cart (assuming I don't have my own by then... which is probably a safe assumption!), and I hope to have even more Christmas décor to haul this year than last. But, since you'll probably need your RV, I guess we'll have to settle for meeting there!

Wow, 10-day passes?! Are you getting non-expiring and saving days for next trip or do you plan on that much time in the parks? Last trip we were there for 8 days and only spent 3 days in the parks. If we stay 2+ weeks this time I may up that to 4 days, plus the party, and I'll have my fill... although I can certainly appreciate the freedom of doing the parks casually, when you want, with no rushing. Hey, be sure to hit ROG up for a Mickey sign for your campsite so I will know to stop and say "Howdy!"

We went to the first one in November - it was crazy crowded, but we saw all the shows, had a good spot for the parade and fireworks. That's the only reason we went - it was a good time. PLUS we got to Harbor House just before they closed it at 6PM (IIRC) and we had the whole place to our self while they were setting up for cookies and hot chocolate.

I guess I should add that I do the party on a weeknight and in early December and found crowds light.

I'll definitely be doing the MVMCP on November 19. Celebrating my birthday there!

We love going to MVMCP. It has become a tradition. We will go again this year. Just not sure which day yet. I guess right now I am just hoping we will be able to afford to go. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the info. I'll have to look into it and ask the kids. My daughter's birthday is on the 18th so that might be something special to do for her birthday if that's one of the evenings.

Here's the link on the DIS. This is a fun event. The dates have already been released and are listed.

What Shan said about eating is true. Who wants to eat when all this stuff is going on!!!

OH BTW in November when we went we spent the entire day shopping (my wife's vacation too) and were able to go into MK at 4:00 using the MVMCP ticket.

The Conan clan will be at the Fort from the 13th thru the 18th (at least). We aren't sure which party we'll be attending.

I noticed no dates are scheduled during Thanksgiving (probably due to the crowds expected anway) when we are coming down next.

Oh well, just give me:

- a site at the Fort :thumbsup2
- some electricity to cook my turkey with :thumbsup2
- and a cable hookup to watch the football games on :thumbsup2 :happytv:

I'll be a happy man. May even go to MK for a day (maybe).
