Who is going NYE week and when do you check in?

I am checking in on Sunday, December 27th. I know the parks will be SUPER CRAZY that week so I am just trying to figure out how few FP+ I can expect to still see available when it is my turn to book. When is your check-in date?

I am checking in on NYE after we get off of the Disney Dream! It will be our first time visiting that time of year so no personal experience!

NYE at the Contemporary TPV, arriving around 3pm. Have absolutely ZERO intention of trying to get into the parks that day. (Although might go in after midnight. )

December 29 through January 2 at Coronado. I went last year and had not trouble. We were a party of two, and I reserved about 3:00 am EST (I forgot the midnight alarm and roared awake in the middle of the night).

The Fastpasses. I simply meant that I forgot my midnight booking window, so even though I started booking three hours after my window opened, I was able to book what I wanted, including 7 Dwarves.

We will be at CSR from Dec 27-Jan 2. We will spend NYE at AK where the crowds are low until they start closing other parks to capacity.

I was hoping to get entry to the dessert party in MK on NYE. One problem, there is none scheduled. If they don't announce something by the end of October, I am thinking of using one of my fasspasses that day, but I don't really want to do that. So confused.....lol.

This will be my second time during NYE. In 2012 we attended the NYE Dessert party and it was amazing...no crowds to fight or toes to line up on the white tape for 4 hours. I have called religiously for months about the dessert party and just keep getting told that there is not one scheduled. I was also told that about a dessert party for Christmas but it opened up a few weeks ago. I just keep hoping and checking.
