Who is going in July?

For those of you who are going in July, do you already have your hotel reservations booked - even without the discount codes available??? Should I book my trip and then just keep calling back for discounts? Is it easy to change the rates?????

Thanks!

My crew will be there - me, DH, DS(7), DD(5), DS(2 1/2), DS(1), DSIL & DBIL July 12th - 18th.

We're still arguing - er - deciding on a resort. I want to do AKL but DH wants to stay at AS sports because we need two rooms. Since my IL live in FL we are getting the resident rate so we would pay less for AKL than we did the last time we stayed at CSR. The sticking point is needing two rooms and we're paying for both. DH thinks that we're just sleeping there and why should we pay twice what the AS would cost.

Has anyone else had similar problems? How did you resolve them? I feel like whichever resort we choose one of us just won't be happy.

PS - He's against switching resorts mid-stay. Thinks it's a waste of a day. Even though we were planning a break in the middle anyway. He doesn't want to pack everything up & move it.

We have already booked, And yes I am waiting for codes or AP rates. I have never used APs before. You should not have a problem with adjusting your balance when you get a code.

We have planned this trip SOOO many times! My dd and I went to Disneyland while we were on tour w/the Rockettes at Xmas time! But we've never been to WDW!!

We finally get to visit with my dh and my 3 sons. :earsgirl: :earsboy: :earsboy:

We'll be at the Dolphin (or the AS Movies if the boys get their way).

We go every year. Stay at The Beach Club and live in SAB. We live south of WDW, it's actually hotter down here. I can't wait to get in those pools and get ccooooooollll.....We can't even go into the Theme Parks, we are blacked out at that time...Last year I got the best room, we watched the special fireworks from EPCOT from our beds...:smooth: :smooth:

Working on a trip right now with a couple of friends. Hopefully be at All-Star Movies from July 14-18. Airline tickets are so cheap that i don't want to see them pass by!:D

Cart-Mom -

Go for it!!

I needed to get two rooms as well since there are six of us. The last time we were there (forever ago) we had one less child so we didn't need two rooms and we stayed at the Beach Club. I loved it so much that I was worried that I would be dissapointed with anything less. Because we go when it is so hot we do go back to the room and use the pool. I decided to splurge and instead of two rooms I reserved a Beach Club 2 bedroom villa. I try not to think of how much more I am spending staying there but I am glad I am doing it. I think deciding on how important the resort stay is to you and as well as affordablity. Both are important. I have a friend in WDW right now, she only needs to get one room and she can afford to stay in the GF if she wanted to. She chooses to stay at the AS because the resort isn't important to her and she can stay even longer. Do what you really want to do, not what you think you should do. But no matter where you stay in Disney the most important thing is that you WILL BE IN DISNEY!!!!!

July 27 - August 8
My Mom, myself (auntie) and my three nephews (the stooges)
Devin,Justin and Connor. Connor's birthday is the 27th so its
dinner at Chef Mickey's and we are staying at the Fort Wilderness
Cabins for the 12 nights.
This is the boy's 4th trip to WDW and I can't count how many times for me...

Thanks for the advice. I finally talked DH into the AKL!!! He finally agreed that we'll probably never be able to get a room there at the rate we're being offered so he said it was OK. I got my wish. Now, what will his wish be???

I'm doing the happy dance!!!!!!

Everyone - don't forget your lime green ribbons or mickey heads (from Home Depot) so we can spot each other!!

Hey pamlet!! We will be at the Poly 7/11-7/17!! We'll be there pretty much the same time!! YAHOO!! We can't wait !!:bounce:

It's confirmed...going July 14-19 with a couple friends! So excited, got good rate (ALMo), good flight...now i just gotta stay busy until the time comes!:Pinkbounc

We will be staying at the OKW July7-13. This is our first trip to WDW.We can't wait!

Hi HO HI HO to Disneyland we go I'll be much fun for everyone HI hO Hi Hobangle royal blue

Ilove8Trax,
I just booked for the 14th & 15th at ASMu. I was just wondering what rate did you get. I got 94.26 a night. Seemed kinda high to me. Just wanted to compare. Thanks.

DalPal-
We are going 19-26 and that is the rate we got with the AAA discount. I believe the DC discount is the same. I can live with that rate, but I am hoping codes or AP discounts come out soon for later in August. This is supposed to be a cheap trip for us, but so far it hasn't been!

DalPal-- Got Cast Member discount. My friends and i are all alumns of the WDWCP and one friend is now a campus rep. With this, you get the same benefits as a regualr CM. So, we got ASMo, 5 nights for about $66.00 a night including tax. :D

Disneyboy2000,
Where are you staying?

Auntiesharon,
Looks like we will be there at the same time and since you will be at FW and me at WL, there is a chance we will run into each other on the boats. I will have my Lime Green Mickey heads.

all five of us.. me, DH, DD (8) and her friend (8) and our baby, 6 months when we go!

We are staying at the Dolphin for the first time and are excited. We have never been in July and just KNOW that it will be hot, so on-site was just so important to us with the baby!

If I had it to do over again, I might have postponed trip til November for the weather- but I don't know if I could wait that long!!! LOL!
