I teach in a college, my students are mostly 16-19 but I do teach 2 classes of adults as well.

My DW is a classroom assistant at a local primary school

She also runs two Brownie units and is a district commissioner with the Guide Association, helps at a local junior youth club and has just joined with a friend to hire bouncy castles and do childrens' parties, discos, face painting and balloon modelling

After all that I hardly ever see her

I'm an assistant Brownie Guider too and DH runs a Cub Pack as well as helping with Scouts. We're often ships that pass in the night when outings or District meetings clash. At least our own two are old enough to be left alone now,it was a nightmare when we relied upon each other for babysitting.

That's why in Scotland schools and Local Authorities now have a duty through the Parental Involvement Act to see parents as a partner in the education of our children

i totally agree.
unfortunately alot of the parents of the kids i teach believe that the teachers should deal with their kids discipline, and there is no continuity.

Hi everyone I am a pre school teacher and I am also in the process of doing my foundation degree in Early years(eyps) which I am finding quite a struggle so if any one has completed the above course I would be greatful for any advice .I think we are all doing a fantastic job and we should all be proud of what we offer to the next generation .
