Who hops? or not?

We don't usually hop, but we like to have the option. The reasons we would hop are (1) to do an EMH but then get out when it gets crowded, (2) to see an evening show when we don't want to spend the whole day in that particular park or (3) to have dinner or wander through Epcot after a day at a park that closes earlier.

Before the MYW tickets I used to buy park hoppers although I only remember actually hopping one time. Now the MYW tickets and the fact that we go in February when the park hours are shorter I like to get the non-hopping tickets and get a longer pass instead. For only a couple of bucks per person more I can get a 6-day pass instead of a 5-day pass and not feel guilty about hitting MK in the afternoon the day we arrive and staying for Wishes. I bought 10-day non-expiring tickets for the last trip so the kids and I would have 5-day passes for the next trip. We arrived at MK at about 4:00 in the afternoon and had dinner, did a few rides, and saw Wishes. If we had had the old hopper tickets I would have stayed out of the park until the following day. I fully intended to get the hopper option on the last trip "just in case" we missed a nighttime show so we would have the option of seeing it another night but I decided since we go in Feb and we are content to stay in one park all day I would save the $177 for something else. I think it all depends on when you go and what your touring patterns are. For us, I guess we just are not the hopping kind. ;)

We hop hop hop, every trip.

We like eating in a different country in Epcot at night, and since the MK has very limited choices for dinners, we will routinly hop to Epcot in the evenings for a meal. Sometimes we even hop back out & go back to the MK or whatever after dinner.

Ok like this last trip, we were going to do the AK in the morning since we had missed the Lion King Show & then spend the evening in the MK. Of course my DS asked to ride Figment just one more time. So our day started in Epcot, then to AK, then a quick stop by the hotel for a short nap, and then to the MK for the evening.

Each and every visit, we say we are not going to get the hopper and save the funds instead. Each and every visit, we purchase the hopper and are very thankful we do. There are times when we only want to go back to a park for second visit for a few attractions and then move on to another park. IMO, hoppers are money well spent.

I always get the park hopper option even if I don't plan to do much hopping. It is usually only myself and maybe another person, so the extra $40 doesn't feel like much. This way, if the first park is crowded or if we want to catch dinner or a fireworks show at another park we can do it.

never do. we don't employ eemh so we choose the park with the lowest predicted attendance for the day. there a good restaurants in every park except ak, so we're good for the day.

We always get the hopping option (okay we didn't for our one day at Disneyland, but we always do at DisneyWorld). We just like the option of going to one park riding what we like and then heading to a different park. Or depending on the time of year we like the option of, oh this park just closed, let's head back to MK and do some more rides while it is still open. I just like the choice in the hoppers that if for some reason a park isn't what I feel like after getting there, or it is too busy, I can go to a different park and see how it works instead. Plus MGM never takes us a whole day to go through, it normally only takes us 4 or 5 hours, so I like the ability to go to a different park when we are done there.

We always either get hopper tix or annual passes (which include hopping of course). We normally stay at BWV, so are within easy walking distance to 2 parks and love to have the option of going to either one on the spur of the moment. Also as others have stated, there's nothing like dinner at a World Showcase restaurant followed by Illuminations to close out an evening, no matter what park you were in during the day. Plus, with EMH in the evenings now (we are NOT 'morning people'), we can hop to the EMH park and get some extra fun time in.

We almost always hop. The only time we don't hop is if we just go to Epcot, our favorite park. We just like doing a little bit at the other 3 parks.

We are hopping fools! Now that I've decided that I'm going to WDW as often as I can , that I deserve the trips, I am a little more relaxed about planning. It is usually just my DS (19) and I so we plan which park to start the day with then take it from there. I know we waste park time traveling back and forth but last summer we took advantage of the boats and used this as resting time, thankful for the AC! We're staying at the Dolphin this year so we'll probably really bounce back and forth between EPCOT and MGM.

BTW... I'm so proud of myself, I'm even starting to think I can go to WDW by myself if no one in my family wants to go. I might just give that a try sometime :cool1:

We always choose the hopper option, even if we do not use it everyday. Who knows, if say--we want to lunch in Epcot even though we are at MGM-- we form strategies months in advance-- but there is always room for spontaneity and the hopper option affords us that. We also like to use it on emh nights--we might stay in Epcot for Illuminations, then head on over to MK for evening emh--especially since it will be open till 3 am during our visit :) So, in a nutshell-we love to hop around at will.

Stroller Gridlock in MK, we are out of there and off to Epcot.............Love them hoppers

We park hop. When we stay at WDW, we like the freedom of being able to go to any park we want to. When we go over for the day, hopping is helpful if the park we were going to go to is too busy.

We went to WDW last week for our third trip. On past trips, we'd always hopped. This trip we didn't, and will probably never hop again. We picked a park each day based on Tour Guide Mike's reccomendation and we arrived when the park opened. We'd ride the big attractions stand by before the park got busy. We collected fast passes to use when we returned to the park that night. (Learned on this board that CM's let you use fast passes after they expire-never knew that on previous trips). Our system worked great and we'll probably never park hop again. When we "hopped" we often found that there were no fast passes left for the popular attractions when we arrived in the evening at our second park. We saved $160 by not hopping and we felt we had a better touring experience.

we always hopped but last trip didn't. we had aps and instead just went for a few hrs a few of the days( like when the mickey statues were at mk and we had forgotten to see the ones inside the gates)we go off season, rarely leave the parks mid day and stay till closeing...last time with 3 night time shows we just didn't have the time to do it and never did so i think this time i'll just spend the extra few $ and get a ticket for every day we will be there. then if we haven't gone to a park and want to we can...we usually take a few days off from parks so we'll have an extra day or two if we want them. ( i know you can only use one park a day, i mean on days we haven't use it) since we are going to food and wine if we want to go to epcot just to eat those days we can

so since i don't want it i am sure the promo for NOv will be, you guessed it, free hopper upgrade :rotfl:

We have always hopped & always will!!! I can't image not hopping but that just my opinion. I don't think of it as a lot of extra $$$. I just consider it part of the
price of the tickets. HOP HOP HOP!!!!!! :thumbsup2

I think the hopping option is well worth it. Its vacation and I want my freedom. Even if I were to end up not hopping for what ever reason I want the option. It cuts down some of that planning stress.

We didn't used to hop because we used to stay offsite and it took too much time- we were park commandos. Now we stay onsite and are able to go more often so we are able to take things at a different pace.

We had 4 day park hoppers in '02 and I think we only hopped once. The day we did AK we had e-night tickets for MK so we went there after a hotel break. This trip we will have 6 day hopper snad I think we will hop more depending on when the MVMCP and EMH's are. We'll see!

Hopper here....love the opportunity to get my fill of any/all parks each day. Also, if one is too crowded for my liking, see ya, i've got 3 other parks to chose from
