Our power went out at about 4:00 am this morning.

About 7:00 am, I went out and checked out the damage. This was the only thing damaged in our yard........at the time......

More to come.....

YM sorry about all your trees! At least your all safe at home. I was watching your area on the news and they were saying how the airport there is shut down because of power outages. My first thought was thank goodness this isn't next week.

Speaking of the next few weeks....it's going to be pretty quiet around here. I guess the few of us being left behind to bare the cold will have to hold down the fort. :sad2: I have to admit I am extremely jealous. :sad1: I love Christmas in Disney, it is so magical!:santa: Take lots of pictures for us few stuck at home. :flower3:

Lin...I'm so glad everything went so well. I figured it would. Thank you for reminding me about the travel channel show tomorrow! Now get studying!!!pirate:

Wow pozey, those pictures are sadly beautiful. As are DznyFan's ice pictures. I have to admit, the mailbox picture made me chuckle just a little bit. It looks like the tree just reached down and decided you ain't getting no mail this week!

I forgot to turn off the computer earlier and decided to read TGM.

YM:: I didn't notice that you posted right before me. HI!! Sorry to hear about the loss of your trees. You guys are sure getting pounded by the ice!! Please take care!!

pozey:: Are you still without power? You certainly had a lot of tree damage.

lyzziesmom:: I'm glad to hear that Emma did well at the hospital. I know you are very worried about her.
Nathan came out of the bathroom after his bath saying he had a headache and was dizzy. A million things go through your mind when something like that happens.

Lesa:: I wish you could go to WDW with us. I'll be gone just a couple of days...you probably won't even miss me!!:rolleyes1

Ok...I think I'm signing off for real now.

Goodnight!!:cloud9:

Hey guys!

We just got back from the gym. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and I'm so tired...:rolleyes1 Boy I'm out of shape!

Lyzziesmom- I'm so glad Emma is ok! I can imagine how scared you must have been. I hope she starts feeling better soon. All of these ice pictures makes me happy that it was 'only' 46 degrees here today. That is pretty warm considering how cold it was last week! We actually are fortunate that we haven't gotten really bad ice storms at all since we've been living here.

Lin, I'm so glad the play went well...I can't wait to see pics!!

I'm listening to the Soarin' music now and getting sad because I don't have a trip planned. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:

Lyzziesmom- Poor Emma! I can't begin to imagine how painful that is for her. I hope she gets better soon!

Pozey-I agree with Lyzziesmom, those pictures are sadly beautiful.

Lin- I'm glad your play went well! I can't wait to see the pics!

Pozey, Dznyfan and YM- Stay warm and safe!

Lyzziesmom...I'm glad Emma is o.k. That is scary when you have no idea what is wrong.

Well I am slowly getting sick as a dog. I no longer have my voice, my throat is sore, and I have that fuzzy feeling in my head. I knew when I worked at school on Friday that I should have brought my hand sanitizer. I had several kids wiping their noses and handing me their papers. :scared: I got kid crud!!!

Pozey the pictures of the trees leaning in the street are truly beautiful. I'm sorry you guys lost all your power but I'm glad your safe in a hotel.

O.k. heading to bed!

Hey guys...I'm trying to finish up a little laundry.

Lesa...I'm sorry you are not feeling well...I hope it's nothing too bad. I will be thinking about you on our trip...I'll do something in your honor...and I will take lots of pictures. :flower3:

Hi Pozey and DznyFan...you guys have taken some lovely pcitures. I'm going to take a few new ones tomorrow but my camera is lacking. :rolleyes1 Pozey sorry to hear you are in a hotel tonight. Did you have to go all the way to Muskogee to find a room? :sad2:

lyzziemsom...I saw your thread and I will go check it out. First of all lots of hugs to Emma...I'm so sorry she had to go through all that...sounds like she did a great job...very brave. :flower3:  :flower3: I'm also sorry you had to go through that as a mom...I'm sure you were very scared. I hope she recovers quickly. Now for me to share my experience and hopefully yours will turn out as good as mine. DS had something very similar when he was five and then again when he was 8. Basically he woke up one morning and could not walk... if he moved or you moved him he would scream. Going to the bathroom was the worst. We went to our dr and did blood work... x-rays and they determined quickly that it was his hip...hip synovitis. Within 24 hours he was up running with a little limp. It was very scary when he wasn't walking but as soon as the scared wore off it was over. I sure hope Emma has the same outcome. I know if they find bacteria in the hip it is extremely serious and requires hospitalization...I think it's called spetic arthrits. Anyway...I hope you get some rest tonight and Emma is a better in the morning.:cloud9: Do they want to see her back...I know I had to return to the Dr with my DS just to keep a close eye on him.

Hi Ashley, Nicole and Donna...:goodvibes

hi guys!!!

Just a quick hello before I'm headin' off to sleep.

PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE BE CAREFUL OUT THERE IN THAT ICE!!!!!!

All I keep seeing on the news is ice, ice and more ice in KC, OK, IL, etc. So, stay safe!!!!

Hi Michele!!! Good to see you. Too cute of Lilly "carrying" her bear.
My mom's boss was asked once if he was going to take his family to see The Lion King when it was here in town. His reply was, "oh no, we saw it at Animal Kingdom at Disney."  :confused3 :lmao:

Lesa---feel better!!!!! You need some more of that chicken soup. (and chocolate)

Lyzziesmom---hugs to Emma!!!  I'm impressed by her braveness. Don't beat yourself up------any of us would have been scared out of our wits, too.

Ash----HAPPY ANNIVERSARY for yesterday!!! Sorry I missed it. You'll have to celebrate on the ship.

Donna---congrats to Nathan!!!! :woohoo:
Are you flying out of Lambert??

Lin---I'm glad the play went well. We never doubted it!!!
Study, then you can relax.

Linda----I can't remember if this trip is a surprise for Kenny????? I don't think so (because he wanted to fly, right??), but please clear my mind for me-----if that's even possible. haha

Pozey, DnzyFan and YM-----your pictures are scary and very eerie!! Please be careful.

Nicole---I'm sorry YC is cutting hours. The economy is just not great right now and it is really showing in spending. Keep your focuses on WDW!!!

Hi to anyone I have missed------I must get some sleep.

Night all.

Good morning!

If anyone is going out this morning, please stay safe. It's definitely not as bad here as we don't have ice coating everything, but we do have ice. All the schools are closed, the kids will be so excited. Britt not so much because she was suppose to get her braces off today. They also add all snow days to the end of the year.

I've been up for hours with this kid crud. Nicole I did use the Zicam, I swear that stuff never works for me I always get sick anyway. :sad2:

2x how is gramma doing? I finished off the chicken soup last night. I wish I had some more because boy was it good. I have no chocolate left. Britt was putting the dishes away last night and dropped a glass on the granite counter top shattering it everywhere. Of course she had the fudge out getting ready to cut it and Madison had the peppermint bark out so both were a loss.:sad2: Thankfully they both didn't get cut because both girls were in the kitchen with bare feet.

Lyzziesmom I hope Emma is doing better today. She definitely is a brave one. My first IV (when I was pregnant with Britt) I cried like a baby! :rolleyes1

Thank goodness I'm up because the darn school district just called to inform school is closed. Hello it's 4:30 in the freakin morning! I think it could have waited another hour.

If anyone is getting up and braving the ice to go to work, please be very very careful!

Good morning, all - a brief check-in... I've been reading, but just haven't had anything to say, i guess.

Shannon - I'm just a wee bit envious of you right now, living in Florida and all! ;)
Hi!
well...it has been pretty warm here, and my coworker just got back from WDW, and said it was too warm! she was really disappointed because she was all set for cooler weather. Donna, I hope its nice for your trip!

I kind of have been having computer problems, running really slow and weird things happening, so I havent been online as much. I am really behind!

yesterday was my moms bday so we went over to my sisters house for dinner. she was off so she did all the shopping and cooking, I made the salad! she called from the grocery store overwhelmed with the task, she said she spent $95! on what??? lasagna & spaghetti!:scared1: well it was a HUGE pan of lasagna and the spaghetti was really yummy. my mom tried to clean up but we wouldnt let her. it was a fun evening.
well I hear DH's alarm so that means I get up in an hour LOL I couldnt sleep! maybe I will run up to Dunkin Doughnuts since I am up early!

have a great day everyone!

Happy Tuesday morning, Crew!!

I am repeating what 2x2s said..PLEASE BE CAREFUL IN THE ICE!!

Gary drove into work today. He just IM'd me saying it was 37*. I just hope it doesn't get any colder. :cold: The weather on Yahoo says it's supposed to get into the 50's today. :confused3

Lesa:: I hope you get to feeling better! That's awful that your fudge and peppermint bark were ruined!! At least nobody got cut on the glass.

YM:: I'm still working on my laundry. There is actually a load in the dryer as I post.:laundy: :laundy: :laundy:

2x2s:: You take care out there, too!! Gary was listening to the St. Louis news yesterday morning and trying to figure out exactly where the ice hit. The news people talked about the ice all over the city, but everywhere one of the reporters was it was clear.:confused3 :rolleyes1

Shannon:: Dunkin' Donuts sounds yummy for today!! Maybe we'll have them for breakfast!!

pozey:: I should have retained what I read!! I see you were in a hotel....of course your power was out!!! Sorry, I had another DUH moment!!!:upsidedow

Here's our donuts this morning, courtesy of Shannon. Thanks a bunch!!

Good Morning!

Lyzziesmom, I am glad Emma is ok. Hopefully, it will go away soon. :wizard:

Lin, glad to hear the play went well. I can't wait to see pictures.

Ashley, you'll do fine with your camera.

pozey and Dznyfan, those pictures are beautiful.

Lesa, I hope you fell better soon. Mike has been sick too.

Lilly is too cute....she was playing with her Disney Bear today and decided she wanted to go across the room...so she took off crawling with his ear in her mouth!!:lmao:

She looked like a cat carrying her kitten!!

That is too cute! I want to get Spencer a Disney Bear.

I got a little bit of Christmas shopping done last night. Mike took me to Cold Stone to try and find egg nog ice cream (I HATE egg nog, but feel the need to have it in ice cream form. :confused3 ) They didn't have any, so we went to Target and did a little shopping.

Stay safe in the ice everyone.

Have a great day!

HELLO OUT THERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The play is over!!!!! It turned out way better than I thought it would, and it was beautiful, we got so many incredible compliments. I have tons of pictures at work, and will post a link to them as soon as I get them uploaded.

I have my test next Monday (which I should be studying for right now) and then leave for Disney next Friday! I can't wait!

I have not had time to catch up, and I doubt I will, but Donna when are you going to be there?
I bet it was awesome! glad to hear it went so well. do you have any pics? I can't wait...good luck on your test and we can't wait to see ya!
And just a reminder for everyone...

Disney Holiday Magic with Samantha Brown
Samantha Brown travels to Walt Disney World and discovers an amazing new menu of holiday festivities.
I can’t wait! I’m having my buddy record it for me  definitely one to watch over and over!
Wow...it's been a long day. We did have our power go out last night around midnight...right after I shut the computer down. I guess some higher power didn't want me to miss out on the DIS boards So...we are one of the lucky ones because by 10am it was back on. Our phone service has not been restored. I went an entire day without logging on then my DH suggested I see if I could find an unsecured network...so here I am...gotta love that guy

Well, I see DznyFan posted some pics of the ice. Since I whined about my yapon holly tree we've now lost both our pear trees and some of our maple. We planted all our tress so they were just getting big enough to provide a little shade. I agree with lyzziemoms and DznyFan...the amount of noise they make when they break or when a transformer blows is crazy. Both our pear tress fell into our house...we thought there was an explosion. Luckily they were not big enough to cuase damage to the house...just the guttering. I'll try to post some more pictures tomorrow.

The kids were out of school today and will be tomorrow. There's major power problems. My work will be closed tomorrow too. I'm so glad the weather will be better next week for our Disney trip...so many flight have been canceled. I guess I have a one track mind right now with all the ice. It's sad to see about every tree in town snapped in half...
Wow, so sorry about the weather and power there YM! I’m so thankful this is now and not when you leave. I hope its all good to go when you depart out. Sorry about your trees…that is too bad. Ice does so much damage and you’re right…the sound of it all cracking and breaking… yikes!!! I’ll keep you in my thoughts and prayers.
Good evening!!

Nathan had ball practice tonight so we just finished dinner!!

Yeah...believe it or not I have NEVER taken Nathan out of school!!:teacher: Well, except preschool.;)

Linda:: Thanks for the info on TGM!! I'm going to get to reading it soon!! I can't wait to see you guys!!:woohoo:
YES!! Getting Hannah Montana tics would be too much pressure for me!!!:scared1: :rotfl:
Omg..that’s great he’s never been out of school. I’ve taken Kenny out for vacation both years so far…but I’m sure it’ll slow down when he’s older and things are tougher to make up. Yes, TGM is well worth the investment to me! I get my use out of it for sure!!
We watched wdw on travel channel and Kenny was asking me if we could parasail over the lagoon!!! That would be awesome! Can’t wait to see you guys! Just a FEW more days!!! Whoo hoo!!!
Hey everyone!!

Just a quick check in here....

We are in a motel in Muskogee........

No power at our house. Major tree damage. Pics hopefully to come...
Oh wow pozey! I’m so sorry! Those pics are pretty…too bad it causes so much damage!!! During our ice storm, Mike ran out and bought a generator…at 3am! When Lowes finally said they had a truck come in with more…they were staying open and selling faster than you could imagine. Stay safe and warm. I’ll be praying for you.

I just got back from 6 hours at urgent care with Emma
Oh no..poor Emma. Glad she’s ok, but how cute the things she was saying. Sometimes things like that make you take a step back and look at things w/a different perspective. Hope she’s feeling better!

Speaking of the next few weeks....it's going to be pretty quiet around here. I hope it’s not too crazy…I’ll never catch up. ;) I know I’ll be taking LOTS of pictures! I’ll have to send out a few picture mails.

Hey guys!

We just got back from the gym. I did 2 miles on the treadmill and I'm so tired...:rolleyes1 Boy I'm out of shape!

I'm listening to the Soarin' music now and getting sad because I don't have a trip planned. :sad1: :sad1: :sad1:
Way to go Ashley! 2 miles is great!! Yeah, I’m outta shape big time too…but I know I’ll get a lot of exercise at wdw!! You’ll be back on Soarin in no time!!

Oh no..I hope you feel better soon. I’ll be taking sanitizer w/me for sure. It seems like no matter what, one of us get sick while at wdw…no fun!

:teeth: :rotfl:

Lesa- I hope you feel better soon! I thought I was getting a sore throat this morning, but took some Zicam and feel okay now.
Glad the Zicam worked for you. I packed some airborne, just in case!

DS had something very similar when he was five and then again when he was 8. Basically he woke up one morning and could not walk... if he moved or you moved him he would scream. Omg how scary!! Glad he’s ok now. I’ll have to remember this, in case Kenny ever has the same thing happen. That would be so scary!
hi guys!!!

Just a quick hello before I'm headin' off to sleep.

I’ll second that….for everyone to please be very careful in this winter weather, no matter where you are. Lots of prayers and pixy dust for those in the ice and they get power restored soon! If you need anything, please let me know if there is something I can do!

Yes it was a surprise for the past 5 or 6 months..but I had to tell him when I had to give his dad the 30 day notice, b/c I knew his dad would start questioning him about it. Sure enough, the very day he picked him up after the notice, he asked him if he was REALLY going. Duh!!! But I still have some secrets up my sleeve for them. Mike and Kenny do not know that we’re staying at the Poly. They know we’re staying somewhere else, but not there  They don’t know we’re doing the Illum. Cruise, and don’t know about maybe doing the bass fishing, or some other fun stuff they do..I want to rent a “mice’ and take Kenny out in the lagoon for a little boat ride, but I’m not sure if they’re 2 seaters or what???? I’ll have to check that out! Yes, he’s so excited that we’re flying 
Take care of yourself young lady! I’ve been thinking about you a lot!

Good morning!
Britt not so much because she was suppose to get her braces off today. They also add all snow days to the end of the year.
Good luck w/Britt getting her braces. Sorry the snow days get added. Bummer!!!

Happy Birthday to your mom!! Sounds like a very good and fun party!! I can relate…I am packing both winter and summer b/c ya just can’t predict the weather! I want to be comfortable…but 80 is warmer than I was expecting for sure! But heck…its so much better than snow..no way am I going to complain that it’s too HOT…
Here's our donuts this morning, courtesy of Shannon. Thanks a bunch!!
Thanks guys!!
Mike has been sick too.

Hope Mike gets feeling better soon! Spencer definitely needs a Disney bear! They’re so cute and soft!!! Hope you find your egg nog ice cream 

Oh those donuts look so good. I forgot to have breakfast this morning because my normal routine was different today - usually I have some SlimFast bars or PopTarts or something in my drawer at work, but I'm all out and I'm starving!

Emma is still not walking today but my mom said she's in a happier mood and bragging to her sister about her adventures at the hospital. She's really milking the "sick child" card for all it's worth! I guess last night she was trying to hop on one foot and that didn't go so well. Glad I wasn't there to see that! This morning she tried crawling but decided that hurt too much too. She also told my mom that she was gentler than Mommy was while carrying her! I talked to her on the phone and asked how she's feeling, she said, "Good but my leg still hurts. Grammy gave me leg medicine (Motrin) but it's not working yet. It'll take a few days." What a trooper! :cutie:

Lesa: So sorry about your candy casualties! Glad nobody was hurt, I hate breaking dishes. I'm always afraid there's broken bits of glass lurking somewhere that I missed. Lyzzie's excited about her snow day today too and refuses to get out of her pj's, which bugs my mom to no end. :thumbsup2 Oh I hate IVs too - I'm pretty sure they've made me cry. I couldn't watch when they were getting the blood samples from Emma, they just dripped it from the IV into the tubes and I got woozy as soon as I saw it. Emma covered her face with her blankie through the whole thing so she didn't really know what they were doing, only that it hurt. I think if she had seen it she would have really freaked! She was actually better yesterday than she was at the dentist - if you remember, she had to be put in restraints then.

Shannon: Hope your computer decides to cooperate! Have you tried sweet-talking to it and gently stroking the monitor as you restart? Sometimes that works with mine. That was some expensive pasta!! Emma's dad used to do that, I would insist we not eat out because we were on a tight budget, then he'd go spend $65 and make spaghetti. He refused to use jarred sauce and had to have everything fresh, and had to use the most expensive tomatoes -- and then of course Lyzzie wouldn't even eat it, and I didn't really like it much either. He put cinnamon in the sauce - yukko!! :scared: Oh well, he was an idiot -- I'm back to my $3.00 spaghetti and we like it much better!

Amber: Sounds like maybe Spencer wants some ice cream! I think I've seen egg nog ice cream at SuperTarget or the grocery store - don't give up. It's good stuff! Have you tried milk nog? Our grocery store has it, it's basically egg nog diluted 1/2 and 1/2 with milk and it's very tasty - a lot milder and creamier, more like the ice cream flavor. Yummy!

Linda Linda Linda -- how excited are you!?! You can count on ONE HAND the days until you leave. I'm so JEALOUS! Enjoy that warm weather for us, will ya?

Last night I watched Jon & Kate Plus 8 (the show about the family with 6-yo twins and 3-yo sextuplets -- yikes!) and they went to WDW. It was really cute! They were wearing their Mickey ear hats during the interviews. What really gets to me though, is how you know Disney is paying for their trip in exchange for the advertising they get by being featured on the show. They got to meet all the princesses in the Rose Garden at the MK, and hopped right onto Dumbo, and basically had VIP treatment and still just kind of acted like this was normal. I was laughing out loud at the end though. The mom was talking about going home, and how she normally is ready to leave and can't wait to pack up her suitcases and go home. But that this time, she was very sad to leave and no matter how much time they spent at Disney, it never feels like it's enough and you don't want it to end. I wonder if she's a DISer?!

I'm starving!
What a trooper! :cutie:

I'm back to my $3.00 spaghetti and we like it much better!

sorry your drawer is out of goodies! I have a few granola bars here...but they don't look too tasty either:sad2:
Emma is quite the trooper! she's so cute. I didn't have an iv until I was having Kenny! in 1st grade, I broke my arm...my mom passed out when they were putting my cast on:rotfl:
wow $65 for spaghetti... yeah, jar sauce is fine for me:laughing: I love spaghetti too!

EXCITED!!!! Most definitely!!:woohoo: :yay: :cool1: now I've got a list on my desk of everything I've got to do still D'OH!!!busy busy!! OH I will definitely enjoy the weather!
I've never heard of Jon and Kate...that's cool!!!

Oh no Lesa..forgot to comment, sorry about the glass mishap!! glad they didn't get hurt and real bummer about the peppermint bark:guilty:
