Who has used the spa @ Grand Floridian?

I was planning on making a reservation for a spa at the Grand Floridian. Would the Spa Escape pkg for $40 or the Ultimate Day Pkgs worth the price of $594. Will there be tax added on and how much tip should be given?

Has your daughter had the manicure/pedciure or facial they offer for girls and did she like it?

Did ya'll use the whirlpools/sauna first? And did you like that?

I did the complete spa day package last time I was there. It was heavenly! I thought it was worth every penny! It is such an upscale, relaxing atmosphere. I enjoyed it as much as Elizabeth Arden in NYC. Have a great time!

Oh - I have also had the aromatherapy massage and wrap and the aromatherapy facial - the best spa treatments I have ever had. I don't think there are included in the full spa day package, but they might be good alternatives (and I don't think quite as expensive).

My DD has had both and she much prefers having the manicure/pedicure. Everytime we go to the spa now, that is what she requests. I love the facials for myself, but it's not her favorite.

As for using the health club facilities, it depends on when our appointment is scheduled. If it's later in the day, then I would use the steam, sauna and whirlpool. They are located right in the women's lounge and for ladies only (men have their own in the men's lounge). It is bathing suit optional however, so something to consider if your daughter is going to be with you.

You asked about tip. I use a spa here at home and the standard is 15-20% tip. (Ouch! I'd go more often if I could do less tip, but I don't want to look like a cheapskate, so I tip as expected and go less frequently....)
