Uva street fries, at Uva Bar and Cafe in Downtown Disney - with chorizo Bilbao, spicy crema, shaved green onions, pickled garlic and cheese curds. $11

I don't know it it would taste good, or not... I don't know what the first 2 items are, lol.

I got the info. from this menu here:

I know what Chorizo is but I dont know what the bilboa part is or the spicy crema but it sounds good.

I haven't tried that one in particular but everything I've had at Uva bar is good! :)

I don't like Chorizo all that much but I love Crema, in fact sometimes I buy Crema instead of sour cream because I like it that much. :) I've never had that but it sounds like something DBF would like. :)

The chorizo Bilbao is a Spanish chorizo, which is really different than the Mexican chorizo that we have here in So Cal. It's a spicy sausage that doesn't fall apart when you cook it. Pretty yummy

We ordered this the last couple of times we were at Uva (it's one of our regular lunch stops). I thought it was quite delicious. The chorizo is indeed spanish style rather than mexican, i.e. it is a link style sausage with mild spices (not fennel or sage like an italian sausage though) and fairly salty. It is cut into small rounds and present throughout the dish. The cheese curds remind me a bit of mozzarella in texture with a slightly sharper taste. The spicy crema is absolutely fantastic, like a spicy pepper sour cream, but it was too spicy for the kids (we ended up getting another order of plain fries for them). There are also small sprigs of cilantro and sliced scallion mixed into the fries giving it a nice fresh herbal element. The pickled garlic is shaved into thin slices.

We got an order of the street fries, a side caesar, and the sausage plate for three of us, but we couldn't finish the street fries. They are very filling. Plain Uva fries are a wonder of crispy deliciousness, and the street fries version holds up fairly well with all the toppings getting only slightly soggy. Overall, I enjoyed them enough to order on two separate trips, but I was just saying to my husband that I was ready to return to the garlicky fries that are Uva's regular version, especially if they would give us a bit of the spicy crema on the side.

Thanks so much everyone, for your input! It does sound like something we would like to try some day. If anyone has taken photos of this dish, feel free to post it here, thanks. :goodvibes
