Most of the oldtimers remember the DIS from the very beginning, when it was basically ONE page! I have been here since CLOSE to the beginning but read WAY more than I post. Most of the stuff here makes you want go Hmmmmmm

I remember those days.

I believe the DIS was started back in '97. I joined in late '98 when there were about 5 boards, and the whole site looked a lot different.

I see some people who up their count merely by posting smilies, one word games, etc., so I don't think post counts really matter anymore.

Dan still posts a lot. He likes to help out people so you'll find him on the Tech Board and I think Theme Parks or Resorts (not sure).

Nativetxn is another one with a lot of posts, but she's taking care of family and hasn't posted as much anymore.

I haven't seen Dan around lately either, but I think I remember him posting on the photography board a few days ago . I'm pretty sure he has at least a gazillion posts !

I had another name back then. I didn't get banned but left for a while and had to re-register.

Sorry, I should have posted the link It has photos of just about every appetizer, entree, dessert and snacks at every WDW restaurant, including Counter Service, carts, and the items from F&WF (and also some special or not so special drinks). "Food Porn" is not the thread's official name, but most people refer to it using that name.

Actually, the true start of most of the oldtimers was altered when the DIS had a upgrade back in 1999. Dan actually started in the summer of 98, I remember about a month before I did. Our start dates are different than our actual.

I also joined when there was only about 5 or 6 boards. I remember Theme Parks, Hotels, Restaurants, Rumors, Community, Inspiration and Trip Reports. Am I forgetting any?

You forgot my ORIGINAL board, the Universal Boards, which is where I started and used to moderate!

Man, do I miss the Inspiration board!

I had so much fun on the Inspiration Board. In those days I was too scared to venture on the Community Board.

When I first found the DIS, there were only 3-4 boards. That was back in 1998. Then we had to register to post in 1999, that's when most of us oldtimers signed up. There were several major board crashes since then where people lost thousands of post counts. Imagine, the DIS being down for several days at a time! There were clean houses all across America for the first time since Leave it To Beaver aired!
