I think I'm going to apply for this. I'll get 20,000 points after 3 months (spending $1000) and the first month free. Is there any way to do better than this? Who has this card, do you like it, is it easy to redeem points?

We have it. I really only use it when flying JetBlue (or where I need an AMEX). In addition to the extra points for using it at JetBlue I use it on flights for discounted food, drinks and movies. Additionally they sometimes have monthly specials of a free drink or movie if you fly. We fly at least 6 times a year so it helps in that way. It was also really important when it prevented the expiration of points but that is no longer the case.

Generally I'm fine with it since I am loyal to JetBlue. There are some better deals out there if this will be you primary and I always envy the folks that bounce from one card offer to another and garner points and perks but that is not me.

So Disney Visa for daily transactions and JB Amex for flying JB.

Your mielage may vary...

I've had it for a little over a year now. I love it. I use it primarily for flights and travel expenses. I also use it for large purchases that I can actually pay for out of my checking account. That way, I get the points, and then a few days later, I go into my JB Amex account and pay off that charge!
I've found it very easy to use the points. BUT...it's not easy to make changes to flights booked with them. It will cost you.

I have had mine for a year or two now. I love it. I use the cats for everything from buying groceries to paying bills to everything else. Then I pay the card of with the cash I would have used anyways. This means I get the points and keep my credit history good.

I've never had problems boiling with points and the fee to cancel or change is the same as if you paid a dollar amount. It has gotten me several flights from NYC to Orlando for free.

Do you remember Around how many points do you need to book a r/T from NYC to MCO not holiday travel?

It depends. The trip I'm taking in October currently is 13,800 points. I have had it as little as 10,000 points and as high as 30,000 points dependomg on what flight and how far out.

I signed up for it. I usually use the Southwest Visa which I LOVE but Jetblue's prices for Orlando for January are so much less. If I had those points it would pay for two of our flights down, Hate that it takes 3 months to get the bonus points but even if I end up buying the tickets outright before I get the points, I'll use them for the next trip. May not keep after the first year but what the heck, I'll try it out!

I was looking into this and wondering...

Under the current promo, if you charge $1,000 on the card immediately, will the 20,000 points show up on your account right away - or do they wait until after that 3-month period to give them to you?

I can't remeber but it isn't just spending 1,000 it is also paying off the 1,000.

Yeah that makes sense. I was thinking about applying (charging 1000 and paying it off right away) but only if I could make use of the points offer ASAP for an upcoming trip.

Every other time I have done this with a rewards card even after you charge the amount you ask and pay it of they still wait the full 3 months (or whatever the period for that particular card is) before they give you the bonus. It stinks, i need the miles now!
