I am planning a Grand Gathering for 6 adults and 5 children (ages 9 - 2). I want to do one Character Breakfast and I would really love some input on which is the best one and why.

I've done the one at the Poly and the Crystal Palace so those are kinda out for me but I am open to any other suggestions.

Thanks so much, :thumbsup2

Well, Crystal Palace is our absolute favorite. We tried Cape May Cafe this year with Minnie and Goofy (it was also Chip & Dale, but now it is Donald Duck) and we really enjoyed it. Lots of character interaction. It doesn't seem as crowded and noisy as CM's, etc., and it was never completely full. The characters stopped and drew pictures on the tablecloths with the kids at some tables.

Well SINCE you're a grand gathering-if i were you I would do the grand gathering breakfast at tony's town square.
It's supposed to be good- and since u can only do it when you're a GG, for me it'd be worth it.

Have you ever thought of 1900 Park Fair?

The food is real good. I would compare it to CP.
You get to see Pooh, Tigger, Mary Poppins, Alice, & Mad Hatter. So there is someone for everybody. 1900 is at the Grand Floridian ie. Monorail. Easy access to MK or Epcot. Check out my TR for more about 1900. I also have video of it (mostly of the mad hatter). If you have any other questions let me know!!:goodvibes

Kathy,
We are on another dining thread together!!!!!

Sorry for your experience at WC. What had happened to you seems like what happens there 50% of the time. It seems like people either love it or hate it. It also seems like the service there is hit or miss.:goodvibes

Ditto!

We have an 8:05 ADR. My touring plan obsessed DH has it worked out with the fast passes at EE and the safari tour so that we will be done with the AK park and on the way back to the resort by 1pm.

Early ADR's before the park opens are a nice way to get a jump on the day.

CHEF MICKEYS!!! :cool1: It has all of the classic character, Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Goofy & Pluto. It is a buffet style breakfast so it has something for everyone, it is at the CR so it is on the monorail and it is FUN!
The do a celebration song & everyone can swing their napkins in the air etc. It is a MUST do for our family on every trip.

I love Chef Mickey! The food is good, standard buffet fare, but everything was hot and fresh, nothing tasted like it had been sitting under a heat lamp for awhile. Lots of different options. The characters are also great. It really gets you in the Disney spirit. We had 3 different families when we went and they were all great about stopping to take pictures with all of us and interacting with us and even DD who was only 2 mos at the time. It will be a must do for us on every trip.

We like any meal with Pluto...he is always so fun.
CP has yummy food
You got the fab 5 at CM
TH smells SOOO yummy and the good is good too, but it is crowded and loud

We enjoyed breakfast at 1900 Park Fare because the human characters talk (Alice in Wonderland, Mary Poppins) The verbal interaction was fun

I have gone to the crystal palace and i really like the food but i do think that it is a little crowded once the characters start moving through and with everyone moving around to get their food and stuff...in october on my honeymoon, I went to donald's safari breakfast! My husband and I really liked this breakfast and a huge perk is that if you go as early as possible then you can get done eating before the park is even open and then you will have a headstart getting to everest!!! huge plus!:cool1:

We just did Chef Mickeys earlier this month and it was awesome! The food was delish, tons of pics in my March link.

But...we prefer Cape May (when we are staying in that area) because it is so much quieter (pics in my Oct link)

We had Crystal Palace on Sunday 3/22/09 and we did not enjoy it. 'It was fun going into MK at 8:05 but the food was no better than Shoney's or Denny and we were only able to see 2 charactars.

On the flip side we have Chef Mickey's and thought it was great. The food was much better, we saw all the charactars and the restaurant was much cleaner.
