Who has super fine and thin hair??

There can be -- what I do is to look for a stylist who has this sort of hair, too. If she can make her own look decent, then there is hope for me.

That's actually an excellent idea I'd never thought of. Finding one could be challenging but worth the time.

I use Living Proof, Full Thickening Cream and LOVE IT. I have the thinnest hair and hardly any of it. When I use this, it makes all of the difference in the world... it truly has changed the way my hair looks!

The reviews are GREAT but that's a LOT of money to spend on something I don't know much about. Do you know if they have a sample pack available?

Sounds like Big Sexxy might be the way to go. I've seen it but hesitated because of the price but I think I'll pick up a couple products at Target this week.

So...next question: Do you think the shampoo & condish makes any real difference or is it all in the styling products?:confused3

I have the straightest hair ever. It will not even hold a perm. A fantastic DISer recommended that I try Bumble & Bumble Hair Thickening Spray. I spray it on wet hair then blow dry. I then style my hair with hot rollers and this spray helps hold the style. Without it my hair immediately goes droopy and straight.

I have to go to the Cosmetic Market to find the thickening spray. Our local Target carries some Bumble & Bumble products but not this one. It is worth going out of your way to get this.

Just to let you know: I tried the Living Proof cream and it has a VERY strong smell (to me). I am really picky about hair products being to smelly and I couldn't stand myself all day. Luckily, I had purchased it at Sephora and they took it back. So if you're really interested in trying it, buy it from Sephora and you can return it if you don't like it. I did not find that it worked that well for me but that doesn't mean it does work. Fine hair differs in and of itself from one person to the next so it's really hard to say if it definitely will or won't work for you.

Are you near an Ulta? The often have Buy One/Get One Deals on Big Sexy/Redken/Tigi Products.

Right now I am using a mousse by Redken called Full Frame. It does a good job but not as good as some products I used to use that have been discontinued. I also use the Tigi Catwalk Root Boost and that helps.

I think shampoo and conditioner does make a difference. But, again, YMMV. What works for some won't work for others. I get more of a "manageability" problem with some shampoos versus a flattening issue. Drugstore shampoos make my hair unstylable. My hair just looks SO bad when I use them and I've tried all sorts.

Right now I use an Alterna moisturizing shampoo. It's kind of counterintuitive to use that since it seems like it would be too heavy , but it's not. I have tried some various volumizing shampoos but they did make my hair feel kind of funny and they didn't style well but I probably just haven't found the right one.

Oscar Blandi volumizing dry shampoo. Really amazing for fine hair. :thumbsup2

Just what I was going to add!

I do wash my hair everyday which isn't always the best thing for fine hair but I have an oily scalp.

Yesterday I went for color ( 2 tones) and I have started with very few extensions just in the front which has helped so much, especially with the halo effect.

The salt water mists also give me a huge boost.

I have started washing my hair every other day instead of daily and it seems fuller now. But when I was younger I too had an oily scalp and would never had dreamed of doing that then. As I got into my 40's I found my skin and scalp became normal instead of extremely greasy.

What's a salt water mist?

How do you do your hair each day to make it look BIG and FAT? Any tips for super baby fine or thin hair will be appreciated! Products you recommend?
I noticed that you posted this question quite awhile ago, but I just came across this forum while looking for some tips for my hair. I have very fine, thin hair as well. I've come up with my own tips & tricks to make it look full and thick, not all of which are healthy for hair, but they work for me. I have a short video showing how I put in my "extensions alternative" - actually just a cheap wig that I've rigged to work for me.
Good luck! XOXO, Molly

I've experienced a lot of hair loss over the last 3 years due to hormone changes. I've tried tons of products, but the combination that works best for me is using Monat volumizing shampoo/conditioner (also helps with re-growth), Aquage root lifter mousse, Living Proof full dry volumizing blast, and Big Sexy Hair powder play. I would use the powder play sparingly, building it as needed, and only adding where you want volume. It can make your hair feel dirty, but it gives it the grip it needs to hold the volume without falling flat. A bottle of it lasts forever.

#1 comb on the Wahl clippers. Then again, I'm a dude :D And my hair is thin both in the thickness sense and in the fact that I don't have much left :D

I used pure abundance by Avida for shampoo, then after use the texturizing spray. A lot of it. It completely changes the texture and thickness of my hair and I love it. If I don't use this combo, my hair is thin and silky and laying flat on my head. With these two products, my hair is thick, full, fluffy and awesome!
