Hi-- Im considering purchasing a cricut or cameo cutting machine. Can you all show me what you have made disney or disney cruise related from these machines?
Im trying to get ideas of what can be done with the machines, as far as downloading disney images.
Thanks!

I don't have mine yet but the research has lead me to go with silhouette instead of cricut. I don't want to buy cartridges and I can cut any online image with the silhouette software. My rationalization to my husband for the machine is that the money I will save on making our shirts will pay for the machine and the extra customizations like for our water bottles, mist fans, bags, and such will be a bonus. Sorry I don't have actual images like you are seeking, just trying to help you decide what machine is for you.

Thanks. DId you have to buy something additional to be able to use files (svg's) on the cameo? I thought I read that is a separate purchase.. That is exactly my thinking too, with a trip this year and cruise next year, I know I would be spending a fortune on etsy items.

I have a silhouette. I have the designer edition that allows me to take an image and trace it to get what I want. You can also buy svgs or join a Facebook group that has a lot. Last trip I did more embroidery, which you can use the silhouette to help for as well. These two are examples. The first one is from our first trip and the shirt barely fit him still. I got that image for free off of a Facebook group. The second shirt I bought a set of Pluto silhouettes on etsy. They were Jpegs that I traced using my designer edition.

I have a silhouette that I love. You will need to buy HTV to use to do things on fabric. If you are going to be using an iron you will have to really iron the stuff on. My first year I made a ton of shirts and used an iron and the stuff all peeled off, last year we invested in a heatpress so the HTV will stick. Just to let you know once you start vinyl becomes a very VERY addictive hobby. You will be looking at things all over the place to put vinyl on..no surface in your house will be safe :) these are a few I made last year. 11855805_10153577165870879_6742081329153380690_n.jpg 11892195_10153577165020879_5647755320452351242_n.jpg 12052356_10153691900385879_351411507930045845_o.jpg 12068836_10153691876645879_1940451677657029891_o.jpg 12113526_10153693172500879_4771747123260415876_o.jpg 12141048_10153693955835879_856237820504201794_o.jpg

it is from one of the silhouette groups on FaceBook. Its actually a google image that was traced in the program that comes with the silhouette (you have to get designer edition to trace items) then I used the insert to make my shirt :)

Where did you get the vinyl for it though? I love the multi color look to it.

I think cricut would be awesome!

My level of craftiness is not that high but I am currently obsessing over some Mickey tie dyed shirts I saw on Etsy. I ordered an orange shirt for the MNSSHP in September. I think it would be so cool to add a design on the front of a tie dyed shirt.

This is exactly why I went with the silhouette. I am constantly downloading pictures and making them an object which I can cut with my machine.

Anybody got any opinions on the Cricut Air? I am considering getting that one soon to do stuff for our trip next year. It*appears* to be online imaging, with a slot for people who still have old cartridges they want to use.

I'm not a scrapbooker AT ALL, so I would only be using it for vinyl or to cut templates/stencils for painting. It's $300, though, so I haven't made the plunge just yet.

I loved the feedback above about the heatpress, but I'd be stuck using an iron for the foreseeable future...

Awesome. I love Siser, but I haven't ordered any holographic. It's cool to see what it really looks like. I may have to make the same shirts for me and my girls.
It feels really crinkly on..like it wants to come off but it is heat-pressed on there good :) It is super shiny and sparkly especially in the daylight
