i always try and I get too sleepy.

Is it one hour after the park closes still?

I wanna see it in person so bad.

How are the buses after this? Crazy busy or has it mellowed a tad?

Thanks!

I know I have been there but I can't for the life of me remember if it wasn't something to "wow" about or just "oh that's nice".

Anyway, from what I can find, all sources recommend it (at least once), and they concur that it takes place 3 times per night with the first being 20 - 30 minutes after the MK closes.

Buses are always pretty crazy right after the parks close. We usually wait and shop and take our time.

Hope this helps.

We've done this tons of times. Not a big deal IMHO. We are night owls and usually are always one of the last to leave any park. I think it has been made into a huge deal on the boards/internet, but in reality I think some people don't even know what it is. I have always thought that there are early birds and night owls and along with that there are certain things that both types of people will see/experience. It's funny but there are always the people who are there for the kiss goodnight and don't even bother to turn around to watch it. It really is all about what YOU want to do.

Enjoy The Magic!!

We make a point to catch it at least once each trip. It's just a nice thing to see- it is what you make of it.

I would recommend seeing it the last night of your vacation. It is a great way to have a good send off to the parks. Not sure about the bus situation because the couple times I have seen it I had the DCP buses bring me back to Vista Way.

Depends on the night.
Depends on which resort.

But, there will be fewer guests, in general, at the bus stops after the Kiss than at the time when the park closes.

Having been to WDW several times, I have to admit I was unaware of the kiss goodnight, but I've never stayed past the park close time either...

I've easily seen it every trip. My mom loves shopping in the emporium after the park closes and me and my sisters usually end up sitting on a bench somewhere while we wait for her. It's just a recorded message and the castle having a single color light shined on it. I'm surprised at what a big deal it's become!

The bus lines are always short if you wait until an hour after park close, though. So I guess there's that added benefit.

I've stayed for it a number of times, always with groups of folks from the boards here. When over, a significantly reduced crowd awaits your walk out. One time I recall, about an hour after the Goodnight, we walked down a completely empty Main Street, one of the Disney suits asked what resorts we were all staying at. We called out 3 or 4 different ones. The suit replied, 'That's what we thought, your bus is waiting for you all'. We boarded the single bus and it took us to all our respective resorts.

In regards to the timing, it's a little before an hour after park close. I did my DCP in Fantasyland and it tended to occur at what seemed like 40 minutes after park close, but I can't really tell you exact times. I've never seen it when I wasn't working, so maybe when I go visit in a couple weeks it'll be something to see as a guest!

I abhor the hordes struggling to exit the park and the huge bus lines at closing, so we always find some way to straggle. Find a bench. Wander around taking night photos. Whatever. So we're usually around for the kiss goodnight. Its OK, but I don't get the excitement over seeing it. Its basically Disney's way of saying "Buh bye, we're closed, go home".

What a great memory. We love waiting for the crowds to let up, then walking down a nearly deserted main street.

I really like it. It makes for a very nostalgic way to end your night...and if it's your last night at WDW? My favorite time to stay there for it. Is it a big 'wow'? No, not by a long shot. But for my Disney nerd dd (now 21) and I, it's special,

Thank you everyone for your replies.

We do this every trip! Since we travel with no kids, we like staying at MK late to get some shopping done and take a relaxing stroll around the park...avoiding the masses of crowds that leave right after Wishes is a huge perk too! Late nights at MK are absolutely magical. :lovestruc

I didn't even know this existed. I can't wait to catch it for the first time this year!

We were there once for it. I knew about it, but I forgot about it that night, so when it happened, I was so excited. My family thought I was nuts.

I have!!

It was an evening EMH night on my 30th birthday (well it was like 1am so technically the day after)! Was a very special ending to a very magical day!

I have... love, love, love being a pest and staying till they kick us out. :thumbsup2
