I was checking my CC to see if my MSC refund had hit yet yesterday when I noticed a $50 refund from DCL posted on 3/29. The problem? The one and only cruise I booked with DCL was completed (successfully) last September. So I asked the people that went with me on the cruise if they had any odd refunds from DCL. One family had 3 refunds totaling $100. They said there were only refunds posted to the card they used to pay for the cruise, not the card they used for on board expenses. The other person didnt have any sort of a refund but I had paid for her cruise on my CC (she paid me back).

Anyone else have something similar happen?

Thanks. Mine and my friend's isnt from a placeholder, neither of us made one. Nor were we due any sort of credit for our Sept 19 cruise. This is just some erroneous refund they are sending out. I wonder how widespread this issue is and if lots wont notice because they are truly due a refund or they think its a placeholder refund. I hope DCL can correct on their own. I dont feel like wasting an hour on hold to try to get them to take back their money. When companies have made similar errors in the past, its never easy to correct.

A few weeks ago we received a refund for a cruise we took in September. It was either $40 or $50 per person, I can’t remember without looking it up. I didn’t call and ask, but some from our cruise group did and were told it was from reduced port fees. Not sure why it took so long for the refund to go through.

Good to know. Was it a Bermuda cruise by any chance?

That was our sailing. If that is what this is then it would work out to $25 PP for us and my friends. Odd my friends $100 was split into 3 credits.

Glad to have the mystery solved, thanks.

Yes, you are right. It was $25 per person. I have a terrible memory. Glad you finally solved it!
