I'm wondering about the bowling alley, the restaraunts, and general entertainment value....should we plan some meals there? Fire and Ice sounds intriguing...We are staying at the Candy Cane in Dec. and won't have a car. Any info appreciated.

I've been to the movie theater a few times and we've eaten at Cheesecake Factory and P.F.Chang's, all good. It's pretty close to CCI, accessible from either Katella or Disney Way.

I havent been to the bowling alley, but I have been there to do a bit of shopping and to have dinner at the Cheese Cake Factory. The CCF has a HUGE menu and the food is so good. We walked to the Garden Walk from Disneyland in under 10 minutes. Its not far at all.

PF changs is also great for a meal and there are some smaller quick meal places on the 2nd level. The sushi place is good as is the hawiian place. Not the best of shopping in my opinion, but good for food, especially if you are staying at CCI.

Across the street from you there is also a Subway in the strip mall, with a number of other places, including a good chinese place (americanized asian food...think Panda Express).

Like PP said, the shopping isn't that great there but there are a lot of good restaurants. If you're looking for a good restaurant outside the parks then I would say it's worth going to. There is also a movie theater there which I believe has IMAX.

I haven't been to the bowling alley but looking at the website it looks like it would be fun.

We got our park tickets there down in the basement by the bus drop/pickup area. Took us a bit to find it and figure out where it was.

I can't say much for the paths and the way a wheelchair user will have to navigate around there. It was almost like the designers of the place tried to make it look older and then throw in ramps for wheelchairs. The elevator system is also a really poorly set up. It really is hard to believe the place opened early summer 2008 with the way it is.

We didn't eat there as we were not hungry. Had a room with the mini kitchen and a real refrigerator.

I have often wanted to visit garden walk but I could not justify taking time away from the park.

Thanks for all the replies...I know what you mean about taking time away from the parks...but sometimes a getaway during crowded afternoons can be a good thing...wanted to try it last trip, but felt too far from HOjo...that's why I was thinking of eating over there, as CCI is so much closer...probably a bit cheaper than Disney prices(?) Thanks again everyone.
