And, truthfully, how bad is it?

It's my DD's 21st (and my 41st) next March and she really wants us to take a Mother/Daughter trip for our Birthdays.

I know Spring Break is in March but, given that Easter is late April in 2014, I just wondered if, realistically, it would be that bad. We would be looking at flying out around the 13th and back around the 21st.

So, who has been in March and how bad is it really in terms of crowds?

I assume the weather is usually pretty reasonable around that time? Warm at least?

We Were there this time last year.
And,whilst it was busy,it was manageable.
Arrive early,and you'll be fine.

The only park we noticed which was extra busy was mk,and even then,it was controlled.

The weather wasn't hot,but warm and lovely.
Wish I was there now.;)

We took Chloe on her first trip in March 2009 as I wanted to go while still on mat leave. Honestly was not that bad - we were out early and we did swim most days so it must have been warm.

Sounds like fun - I say go for it!

March/April is my favorite time of the year to go. The weather is wonderful during the day as we swim most days and we've done water parks. A light cardi maybe for 1st thing in the mornings and at night.

The parks are busy but definitely manageable just make use of those fastpasses ...... am I preaching to the converted here :lmao::lmao::lmao:

It's a wonderful time to go, especially for such a celebration ..... go on you know you want to :goodvibes:goodvibes:goodvibes

We went the last two weeks in March but it was 15 years ago! We were complete first timers without a clue so it seemed busy, but then we didn't know what we were doing! Weather was variable ranging from proper hot, full days of rain and warm. We have been in March/April since for Easter period, I want to say 2007 (?). Weather the same without the rain and crowds mad but it was Easter as I said. I'd go again at that time but it never works now kids are older and we are stuck with August. The weather was much better than December when we have also visited and had really cold weather.

we were there until march 9th 2012.
It was managable, but significantly busier than february.

The weather was hot, but it was unusually hot for the season.

Crowd wise, the forecasts look pretty grim.
2014 is probably one of the trickiest years to go in the spring.
Easter is not during spring break, which will allow a very long busy period.
From march 8th to march 28th, spring break will have the park packed wall to wall (probably the highest crowds the first week of that period, and just slightly less crowded the following weeks)
spring break will end and give guests a break from March 29th to April 11th
from that point on, Easter madness will kick in for 2 weeks.

That will probably be a peak time
It will be way more crowded than it was in 2012, but it will be significantly less crowded than it was this year (2013) when MK Phased 3

not the best of time to go, but with a sensible use of Fastpasses and Rope Drops it should be manageable

March/April is my favorite time of the year to go.

Mine too ::yes:: although I'm not really the best person to say as the only other time we've gone has been December!

What we liked about March/April was the lovely weather and long evenings - I hated how it was dark at 5pm in December. I believe March/April has the lowest rainfall? Anyhow on both our March trips (one was for 14 days, the other for 21) we had one wet day - the rest of the time was shorts and T-shirt weather with a hoodie sometimes needed first thing in the morning and last thing at night. We never found the crowds a problem although having only gone Spring Break/Easter and Christmas we don't know any different - although it was definitely less busy than at Christmas!

Go on, book it - you know you want to! I'd love to go on just a mother/daughter trip. :goodvibes

We've been in March/April before and as everyone has said, it is busy but still manageable
I remember one day in MK when it was just crazy, you literally could hardly walk round so we just headed off to the pool for a while, other than that it was totally fine
You know enough tips and tricks to not stand in huge lines and the bonus is you will get much longer park hours if big crowds are expected
Go for it ... you will have a great time :thumbsup2

Never been in March but have been in Feb(once) and April a few times so can't comment on crowds but can on weather. I would say you have no idea til you get there. Feb 2011 was amazing weather, all but one day (the day we went north to St Augustine) was far warmer than we expected.
On the other hand some of our Easter trips early April have been so cold and windy, very mixed weather. Its one of the reasons this trip next week I opted to start in Miami and the keys and work our way up, hopefully a few degrees warmer lower down.
I would hope for good March weather but its certainly not guaranteed.
