Well, just got back from my sonogram appt and found out we are having a girl. I can finally order a stroller (because I wanted pink if it was a girl). I know I want a Maclaren and am looking at the Quest Mod pink one with circles/flowers on it. I can get it for 129.99. It a 2006 model. Does anyone have this and how do they like it for a small baby. It says for use by 3months plus and I wont be using it until then. I have a travel system for early on. I had originally thought about a Techno, but it is so much more money and I like the print on this one. Thanks for the help

I don't have a Mod, but I just bought a Quest. My son is almost 14 months old though. I got the Quest when he was just about one.

I really wouldn't recommend it for a 3 month old baby, though. I don't care what they say, there is NO head support at all. The back of the stroller, while padded, is totally flat. Your baby's head will be all flip flop if you put her in there at 3 months. The recline is not a full recline. It reclines to about 145 degrees. The extendable leg rest is great, though! I love the Quest in general. I highly recommend it for an older baby, but don't expect to use it TOO early on. It's good that you have a travel system for the first few months.

If you can get the Quest at a good price now, go for it. I don't even know what year mine is, I paid $199 for it at Babies R Us, and I tend to think it's a 2007, but who knows. It was manufactured in Nov 2006, cause that is what the sticker says, but I don't know what model year it is. It doesn't really matter, though. I don't think there were any major changes (except for fabric) from the 2006 to 2007 model.

We bought a Quest Mod (2005) when DD was about 10 months old. She didn't seem to mind it but she was slumped over all the time. There just is not enough support in the stroller for kids younger than maybe 1 yo. I WOULD NOT recommend this stroller for any baby as young as 3 months.

With that in mind, we LOVE this stroller. So easy to push, small folding.

Congrats on the baby girl!

I totally agree that the Quest is not appropriate for a newborn. I would TOTALLY get the pink Quest Mod and save it until she is about 8 months +. Congrats on your sweet little daughter!!!

ETA: I recently saw a tiny newborn in a Quest and he was drowning in it! Newborns need head support. But I'm twisted, I think every baby needs 2-3 different strollers. I know! I'm totally twisted LOL!! My 7 month old has 3.

Hi - I have the exact stroller - but in blue (though it is still girly b/c of the flowers - my husband didn't like the idea of "driving" a pink stroller!!!)

Anyway - we bought it when DD was 10 months old - granted she was a little peanut, but she really wasn't comfortable in it until closer to 13-14 months. It really would not be good for a little baby. Once she is sitting up, I think it would be okay if she were normal-above average sized (DD was 10th percentile weight, 25th height until about 1 year- so I think that's why it took us so long to "grow" into it.)

But - it is a GREAT stroller - I love ours dearly. It is a year old now (the stroller, DD is 2!) and I just took the seat off to run it through the washer - looks brand new!! Unless you REALLy think this is the stroller of all strollers for you, I'd hold off buying it beacuse they always seem to get lighter and better features each year - and if you won't even need it until the baby is 6+ months - you have a while to see what they come up with!

Also - congratulations on the pregnancy - when are you due??

I am looking at buying this exact same stroller...such a good price! I was planning to buy the 2007 Mac triumph I test drove at BrU, but then I saw the mod at the $129 price...actually less than the triumph! However, my dd is 2, so a different age bracket. Let us know what you decide!

I have the same stroller you are referring to, but I have the green print (Moss Bubbles)...anyway, I LOVE this stroller! I got it when DD was eight months old and she had no problems sitting in it, but she is a big baby. I could seeing her sitting in it even earlier than that, I guess it just depends on your baby. It might work better with a smaller baby with a head support, maybe? :confused3

Good luck with your decision!

I have it in green too and LOVE it! But I got it when DS was 3 1/2, if I had only known sooner! I think I would get now, the features don't change that much (to me) and if you are set on a certain pattern then I would not wait. I don't like many of their patterns at all for some reason. I do think I would wait a while before I used it as the everyday stroller if I had a newborn.

Thanks for all the replies. I guess maybe I will be using the travel system longer than I expected. Thats fine too. I am due at the end of Sept. so I have a while yet. Im about halfway there. Just saw the great price and was wanting to do something. Maybe I will get it and just put it up for a while.:thumbsup2

Just curious - where did you find it at such a great price? I think this is the one I've been looking at but the price I found was more like $199. Would love to get it for $129! TIA:)

we have the quest and we used with DD from about 2 months on, definitely before 3 months and she was fine. She did have good head control early on though.

Its on www.albeebaby.com
Its the 2006 model though. Dont know if that matters to you.

Okay, I did it. I ordered the pink Quest Mod from albeebaby. Sure hope the sonogram tech was right since you have to return items within 30 days and the baby isnt due for 21 weeks. Just couldnt pass up the great price. Thanks for the input.
