I am thinking about getting one but they are so expensive. I just started scrapbooking and I would use it to make little projects, posters, countdowns, etc. Do you have one and is it worth the $$$$?

Have you been to the discussion sight on cricut.com?

You'll be able to see the many wonderful things people make with thier cricuts.

I have a cricut and a cuttlebug. I love the cuttlebug, and use it much more than the circut. But I am more of a cardmaker, and barely a scrapper.

I LOVE MY CRICUT!! It is the only tool I use religiously!! I no longer buy stickers or hardly any embellishments because I can make my own! There are tons of sites on line to buy cartridges cheap and trust me once you get one you will be hooked! Check out the discussion boards at cricut.com the ladies are super nice and so helpful! PM Me if you have any questions or advice!!

I just have the original Cricut machine. I got it last year @ Michaels on Black friday weekend for $68 and I picked up some carts for $27. For that price, yes, I love it. My kids now use my old Sizzix and I use my bug. I do not think I could pay much more than that though, as I am getting more and more into digital scrapbooking. I do use the Cricut for school and for card making.

Check Craigs list and ebay for people upgrading to the newer versions of the Cricut (and other systems) to see if oyu can find a deal.

If you go to the DIS scrapbooking board. you will find many of us who use and discuss the Cricut! :thumbsup2

We bought my DD the Expression 2 1/2 years ago for her birthday and she LOVES it! She uses it all of the time. DD works at our local park district camp in the summer and is always cutting things to make there. She starts her first teaching job next week and has been using the machine to get ready. The reason that she wanted the Expression over the original is the size. It can cut much larger shapes which are good for bulletin boards, posters, projects...

We have developed our own little network in our neighborhood. Everyone know who has which cartridge and we share them. Before anyone goes out and buys one, they check to make sure that someone doesn't already have it. This really cuts down on the expense.

DD is looking at getting a program that will allow her to connect the Expression to her laptop and create cutouts from there. It's a little pricey but the creativity is pretty much endless.

I LOVE my Cricut Expression. I can't remember the last time I bought a card, I always make them using my machine. I scrapbook and no longer buy stickers, etc. I am a teacher and use it in my classroom for my bulletin boards, etc. I started with the smaller one, but WalMart had the expression one year the day after Thanksgiving for $199, which was a great deal. If you can wait, you could probably get a deal at that time.

I just saw some on clearance at my local Wal-mart for $100. Might be worth checking out to see if yours have any.

Our public library has one that the public can use. You might want to check with yours to see if it does -- then you can play with it first before buying one.

I have the original one and wish I had the Expression that does the bigger size shapes. It is pretty easy to use.

I love using it for letters and I have several of the Disney cartridges. There are several websites that you can get some of the cartridges at a really good price. I just came across some that were only $17.

I have the smaller machine (aka Baby Bug) and love it, so does my DD10 who uses it all the time. My DD12 even told her teacher about it last year in 6th grade and she & her teacher made a beautiful bulletin board for the Holiday using some of my cartridges.

Best Buy is starting to carry them and has a bundle price with the Gypsy and extra cartridge.

Michaels has the special pink Expression on sale but I can't remember the price even though I was standing there drooling over it :rotfl:

I have about 10 cartridges which I use all the time for scrapbooking and now card making - no more buying letter stickers or Thickers.

Love my expression but I'm a scrapbooker.

I have a friend selling a baby bug in FL if you are interested PM.

I love watching Cricut demonstrations on HSN. I want one but fear I'll never use it, not use it much or become frustrated when trying to figure it out.

Are these types of machines fairly easy to operate/understand?

I'm a scrapbooker and I have a Cricut expressions. I never use it. In fact, it's been at my place of employment for over a year because my HR staff uses it on occasion.

I have a Sizzix and prefer it for scrapbooking.

They are quite easy to figure out. They come with a DVD that walks you through the entire process.
