Who gets teary-eyed?

I'm getting a bit teary just reading this thread!
Anything extra-magical and/or involving Walt just do me in. Even though I know it was at the DL opening, when I hear the audio of Walt saying, "For all who come to this happy place, WELCOME!" I can't help but get a lump in my throat.

Whenever the Circle of Life song is performed at the FOTLK. I really have to hold back the water works. It just reminds me of loved ones who are no longer with us.

When the plane touches down on Fla. tarmac!! When we see the first sign for WDW attractions on I-4. Seeing the red and purple WELCOME TO WALT DISNEY WORLD sign. The biggest tear jerker is seeing the castle for the first time each trip!!!!!! Guess I am just a very sentimental gram!

I also got teary-eyed at the end of Fantasmic and also:

the end of wishes

when my daughter woke up Tink

when we first catch sight of Mickey and the gang at the opening show in
front of Main St.

I am sure there are other times but those are the ones that stick out the most, glad to see that I am not the only one that is like this.

The sign saying we've arrived at WDW, Wishes.......heck even the bus ride back to the resort! I see my kids looking sleepy but happy, exhausted after a long full exciting day..........I'm getting teary now! I cried watching the planning video, I was so happy to know we were going back!

DH teases me because I cry at everything. THe worst are those darn Hallmark commercials like when the brother in the service makes it home in the snow to sing "O Holy Night".......

someone pass the kleenex!

I always thought I was just a sap, but you guys make me feel much better!! I cry over everything! I cried several times this past trip (June 11-18, 05). It was my daughter's (6 yo) first trip, so her first time seeing the castle, first time meeting Mickey & Minnie, etc...
ALSO - saw the opening ceremony @ MK one day this trip (never have seen it before on my many trips) and I cried!! But I felt a bit better about it when an lady older than myself (I'm 40) told me on the train that she teared up too!! :goodvibes I think Disney is just a special place that stirs up special emotions!

I get all misty eyed and kind of clap my hands like a little girl when I watch Wishes. I must be quite the sight! :rotfl:
I also get a little bummed when it's time to leave, but I don't really cry til I get home and am ready to turn around and go back.

I tear up a lot, especially at the MK!!!!!!!!

Wishes can do it to me, as can Spectro. Once I was watching the afternoon parade...forget which one...the one where the characters would grab people out of the audience and really have them particpate. Anyhow, Cinderella and Prince Charming went over to this little girl in a wheelchair who was wearing a Snow White costume and he took the little girl's hands and "danced" her aorund in her chair and I was bawling like a baby! I think my DH thought I was losing my mind!!!!

My DSIL cries at WDW a lot too. Maybe worse than me.

Lots of things did it for me on our last trip. It was my first "adult" trip since getting married, the first one that I fully planned and paid for, not just went with my parents, so everything was extra special because WE made it happen.

Some examples - the opening video on the magic express bus, the opening ceremonies at both Epcot (with the character bus) and Magic Kingdom (LOVE the opening song), American Adventure for sure, during "Golden Dream" usually starts at the part with Kristi Yamaguchi at the Olympics (I'm a figure skater), Spectromagic, Main Street Electrical Parade music, any fireworks, especially Illuminations

We're taking DD for the first time in June 2006. I'll start stocking up on Kleenix now!

Oh my gosh, I'm so glad to hear I'm not the only GROWN UP that gets choked up with happiness!

I always tear up at :

*Walking into all the park entrances with my husband & kids.
*When the evening lights come on throughout the MK.
*The Lion King show
*Anaheim's Fantasmic (Not Orlando Fantasmic - it was disappointing!)
and
*Illuminations

It's just the music and the feeling and the whole Disney tear jerking thing.
(Like watching Bambi or Dumbo!)

Illuminations during "We Go On", even more during the Christmas version. When Tink flies before the MK fireworks. When the snow falls on Main Street (I was worse at Disneyland). When I first start into IASW. And I'm 40+..... :earsgirl:

I get teary eyed as soon as I see Main Street! No matter how many times I walk in there my eyes always tear!! :cool1: :cool1: :cool1: :cheer2: :cheer2:

I am so excited One More Day

That one does it for me too every year. I even get the same reaction when listening to the soundtrack at home

I LOVE the part with Walt talking too!!! It is on the 50th anniversay CD. I cry every time for the Wishes soundtrack too.

"Starlight Star bright first star I see tonight...."

I only get teary eyed during Spectromagic because of the scary purple haired people. :rotfl2: I'm just kidding..I do get teary eyed. :)

I also get teary eyed when walking into Epcot. :goodvibes

gosh, I guess I am normal afterall!! Thanks for helping me to see, it gets to everyone who feels the magic!!

As a kid I always wanted to go to Disney but it was never in the family budget. It took till I was 45 years old and had my own family before I finally got the chance to go to WDW.I consider myself to be a normal, well adjusted man (if there is such a thing) but when I walked thru the entrance and down Mainstreet, looked up and saw the castle I stood and blubbered like a little girl.We will be visiting WDW for the third time this December and I will be packing a hanky because the magic that lives in the Happiest Place on Earth can still turn Mr Macho in to a 10 year old boy.

I get choked up there all the time. This time I will probably get teary eyed a lot more since my fiance will be seeing it for the first time.

I saw SpectroMagic for the first time at the begining of June. I stood there in awe, with my mouth open and tears running down my face. Amazingly enough, by DH still wanted to marry me the next day. :goodvibes

I also tear up when I enter Epcot. Whenever I get there the first thing I do is stop just inside the turnstiles and look.....Every single time it's the same...I can't believe I am actually there!

I also tear up on Main Street. I love to just stop...stand still and look around. I take in all the little details. Especially on the upper stories.

Last month we were there during EMH and it was SO crowded. I stood in the middle of the steet just looking. There was a sea of people swarming around me. There I was amid the chaos, looking around, wiping a tear away...I'm suprised no one stopped to ask me if something was wrong. :sunny:

WDW touches something deep inside me, something pure and innocent. Something I don't feel anywhere else in the world.

And that is why I love it so!
