Who feels like a threadkiller - Take 4!

Hi everyone!

I'm caught up, but there was SO much happening!

I love London Broil and I'm not crazy about Prime Rib. Like, DU said - London Broil is a lot like a huge steak everyone shares. Prime Rib is usually cooked as a very LARGE chunk of meet and served sliced rare. It's okay, but can be very fatty.

Robin - I'm glad your dad is doing well! Good luck with the dancing!

PD & Kim - sounds like you have your future careers worked out. Kim, your life is crazy busy! Sorry I couldn't make your appetizer. I'm making a BUNCH of room-temp appetizers for this wedding.

Sewer - glad you made it through Prom week!

Hiya TW - Mary said she saw you on facebook when we were in TN. I didn't touch the computer. Sometimes I think it's her umbilical cord!

Hello to everyone else I missed!

Had an AMAZING time in TN with the sisters! Mountain City, TN is beautiful and Susan is building an amazing house - it'll be a show place when it's done! We also spent a weekend in Blowing Rock and had a GREAT time! We left the husbands in Mountain City and it was just the sisters....

I'm currently cooking for the wedding on June 27th. We've done all the shopping and are making the items that can freeze (the rehearsal dinner AND the wedding reception are catered by me - plus the cake). We've made:

  • Five dozen mini sour-cream yeast rolls (for sandwiches). Need to make five dozen more
  • 10 dozen carrot, onion, collard, parmesan rice timbales. Need about 5 dozen more.
  • A pot of pasta sauce (for lasagna - I made the pasta for it - COMPLETELY scratch) for the rehearsal dinner....need to make one more - making 2 pans.
  • A 9-inch New York Cheesecake (need to make one more)
  • 2 Twelve inch yellow cake layers
  • 2 Nine inche yellow cake layers

Everything freezes beautifully and that's just two days of cooking! If I don't bore you and I have time, I'll keep you posted with what we've made. We're off until Tuesday because the brides mother (the wedding is at her HUGE house & in the yard) is going on a mini trip.

Ya'll take care and I've missed you!

 Ann.

Great to have you back.

I've missed you:thumbsup2

I think about cruising with you and Tom quite often. :boat: :teeth:

So what does he do at the City? We'll see what we can do.
Mostly street maintenance, snow plowing in the winter, and fixing roads in the spring & summer. He also gets called in by his own dept and the police, for branches down, and after accidents when they need some hazard lights put up, etc. He also works for the water dept many weekends every year for OT. He's pretty versatile in Park Ridge. ;)

:scratchin ...... now if I could just remember what exactly I did to lose the weight in the first place:laughing:
I know what I did to lose back then but my body is fighting me - 5 years later (and older). :headache: With Kelly's schedule, I can't exercise like I used to after I picked her up from school/before dinner. She's always got something now, not like when she was in Kndg/1st grade. :sad2:

Matt graduates Friday night!!! :yay::cool1:

Ann, YOU are crazy-busy!!! :scared1: Awesome, unbelievable work you do!! :thumbsup2

 Colleen, sa, and all! Happy Friday!! :grouphug:

I did get an offer today..
On Tues. Wed. and Thurs. ..Ill be going to another McDonalds (about a 27 mins drive away) and work there..8am-4PM...then work at Montrose McDs on Mon.'s Fri.'s and Sat.'s....So this may help....for now.
BUT I do think Ill look into finding a better job altogether....ASAP.

 Betsy! I know how hours cut makes a difference. :sad2: At MAX, I only work 9 hours a week, down from 12! :scared1: But, I'm grateful for it. ;)

MATT OFFICIALLY GRADUATED TONIGHT! :cool1::woohoo: Doesn't stop the loan payments but, he's very happy. :goodvibes Also, according to Matt, Chevy Chase, THE Chevy Chase (SNL, Caddyshack, etc.), was at his graduation tonight. I missed him I guess. :confused3 The person I DID notice was a local TV news guy and, thinking 'news', I thought the guy was there for 'news'. Turns out he's a parent of someone Matt graduated with! Many of my apprehensions about this brand-new school (while still apparent) were subsided tonight when I saw that a local news guy had his own son in this non-degree, fast-track program. :thumbsup2 It was a nice night. I even got along with my ex with no problem, talking, kidding, joking, taking pics, etc. About time Matt's parents acted like grown-ups. :thumbsup2

Left the graduation reception just to drop off Kelly at school at about 9:30pm (4 hours after the start) for a lock-in Girl Scout overnighter. And Matt, who was also going to pull an all-nighter :drinking1 , ended up going to eat (and have 2 drinks) with his Dad. ;) I can't complain. He's home now, he's a GREAT young man, and he didn't drive. :thumbsup2

Flashpoint Academy now has it's FIRST, INAUGURAL Graduating class, under it's belt!! :cheer2: Thanks for indulging me! :goodvibes

Such great news Kim!!!!

Congrats again to Matt :teeth:

I am popping in to say Hi

John is working, I am doing some reading for homework -Tartuffe for intro to theatre.

I watched the tv production video our teacher made from our finals, ours actually turned out good. I have two full videos done now-one of these days I will put them up on youtube. My first one was 3 minutes longer than youtube will accept or else it would already be up there~

Good luck Betsy - if I have learned anything being out of work it is how to be patient and optimistic while looking~

Love you guys-Mean it!

Went to the New Balance Store today, and purchased some tenny walkers, and guess what.... they have lime green woven into them!!!:thumbsup2

Just got done seeing UP! in 3D.

Not bad, but not awesome. I felt the glasses made it look more High Def than anything, I mean it had a few moments that sprunge out but nothing blatent. The Pixar crew did a fantastic job. :thumbsup2Looked stunning! :love:Kids liked it. All that matters.

Actually really excited to see a trailer for Toy Story 3 in 3D.

That 5 mins looked amazing!

Counting the days...........:woohoo:

hope everyone is having a awesome weekend. I took my girls to pick NJ strawberries today. we had such a great time.
I love doing things like that with them.
:cool1:

It's funny you say that! A Dreamworks honcho was the Guest Speaker at Matt's grad! :thumbsup2

Thanks DU!!!

Thanks also Colleen! Congrats on what you're doing but, Tartuffe for intro to theatre, is Greek to me! LOL

sa, you SHOULD enjoy those times!

Rory, do you not have ONE comment or congrats for Matt? :confused3 You are his Star Wars/Indy link that has gotten him to where he is.

Hiya Threadkillers!

I just wanted to let you know I'm thinking of you. DH & I are having a quiet day - reading books & newspaper.

Well, we've added another thing for our schedule - a good thing, too! We've got the wedding that I'm cooking for that's June 27th, the Library Grand Opening that I'm making a cake for on July 1st, the Sister's getting together on July 9th and our son from California is coming on July 14th for a week!

We also changed our Christmas trip. We're not going camping on Christmas (still camping Thanksgiving), but we've decided to spend it at the Gaylord Palms in Orlando. No disney trip - DH isn't a fan, but we'll relax, read, swim and probably hit the spa. We got a good deal on a premium room that is IN the atrium with a private balcony so we can sit on the balcony and see all the Christmas decorations inside without leaving our room. We're excited!

Sleepingaurora - your strawberry trip sound wonderful. I just love stuff like that!

Kim - congrats again to Matt. His graduation sounds like it was really something!

DU - keep your nose to the grindstone!

DP - I hope your new schedule works out.

BMS - I've not seen UP yet. It sounds good, but not one I've GOT to rush out & see. I think I'm going to see "Angels & Demons" on Monday....my last day of no cooking!

Hi Sewer - I NEED some sneakers! I wear them when I'm on my feet cooking and mine have lost their bounce! However, I'm not a clothes or shoe shopper, so when I go, I'll buy a few pair.....that's WHEN I go!

Hey TW - I looked up Tartuffe and it sounds like a good play....it also sounds like something you could eat - doesn't it?!

Good morning to all the other threadkillers! I hope ya'll have a GREAT day!
