Who feels like a Thread-Killer? Part 2

Hi Everyone! Ya'll are up late tonight. I just wanted to check the thread before the computer went nighty-night.

BrerPapa, my DH was from the Pittsburgh area. South of Uniontown. We actually spent the entire month of January up there - not a good time to go. We were taking care of DMIL. I'm a Florida girl, need the heat and have to wear shorts 10 months out of the year, or I'm just not happy!

Ya'll have a nice night and for those of you with booked cruises - I'm jealous! We're booking one for my 50th, but for the 40th (the next one) we're going to WDW. Inbetween, it'll be work to get my Disney challenged hubby near the parks!

Enjoy your weekend and I pray I don't kill this thread tonight! Nighty-night!

Good night Hollyann, thanks for stopping in tonight!

in a seacoast town far away....a pirate: opened fire from his :boat: and took over the town...

there...he met a :wizard: and he told the :wizard: that he was shanghaing him into his crew....

"but i don't wanna be a pirate: !" he exclaimed...

"hush your bubba's" the pirate: replied... "and sign the articles or I'll maroon you on the nearest island"...

after signing on, the pirate: handed the :wizard: an armload of clothes....

looking at the clothes, the :wizard: said "I'm not wearing those!"

"You signed the articles so put them on" the pirate: said...

"why?" asked the :wizard:

"You agreed to wear the puffy shirt!" said the pirate: with exasperation....

so, the :wizard: got dressed and even put on a pair of hoop earrings...and got on board the :boat:...where he met the first mate...

the first mate started giving orders...but the :wizard: couldn't hear them....

"you're a low talker" was all he said...and got clapped in the brig....

he stayed there until they made him walk the plank and he had to swim to the near-by island...

he begged for some shot..some rum...and some food...

but all he heard as the :boat: sailed away was...

"NO SOUP FOR YOU!"

Good night HollyAnn....

yep...PA can be a bit much in January...as i rememeber...this past January was a bit snowy....even as far south as Uniontown....

up here...in sigh-b-ERIE-yuh PA...where we only measure snow not by the inches....but by the foot....it was particularly brisk and breezy....

seems that certain Canadians keep sending their bad weather across the lake.... (no offense to my Canadian friends eh)

NOTE: i did say "eh"

anyway....I hope all is going well with your DMIL...and...

Happy trip and cruise planning!

:sunny: :rose: :sunny:

Well, I got ONE I know. ;) Let's see.....I thought "hush your bubba's" was pretty funny, but I'm not sure if it's a quote or not. "You agreed to wear the puffy shirt", I remember that one. :p and finally, the low talker, that I also remember. So, is bubba right? Or, did I miss one?

"hush your bubba's" is something I say...

"but I don't wanna be a pirate: " is the fourth....from the same show as the low talker and the you agreed to wear the puffy shirt line....

Ok, THAT is funny, and it SHOULD'VE been on Seinfeld! :p

Sorry for sending you all of our cruddy weather Brer_Papa :o

You are such a nice guy that I wanted to give you something special!!

HMMMPPPHHHH, if you don't appreciate my gifts, I will just send them to someone else

;)

You can send the weather this way Cruisin'! I do not "deal" well with the heat, and would take feet of snow over humidity anyday! In fact, we are moving to Bedford, NH next spring (I hope!)

Brer, you are a hoot! That was a hysterical story with the Seinfeld lines! See, it is TRUE that you can use these lines in everyday life! Hmmmm, maybe tonight I will tell me kids a story using phrases from Seinfeld! They may not get it, but I would get a lot out of it! :teeth:

Have a great day!

like say....singing "yo ho yo ho a pirates lefe for me" down that porcelain gullet....you'd be surprised how fast the adjoining cabins will empty out....

not that i admit anything of course... [/B]

Hopefully, I won't have to try this! But, I wish I would have known this before, that would have been great fun!

Your secret is safe with me! "I'll put it in the vault!" AHHH! Another one! :teeth: See, what did I tell you!

Thanks Crusin'! I hope this one goes better too! Can you feel the movement on a cuise when the seas are relatively calm?

a few liberties with a certain Yuletide song:

(sing along)

I'm reading your post...
It reads very nice....
but you didn't say "eh"...
and I said it twice....

Your accent just came to my town!

I went to Laconia NH for a wedding some years back. The wedding was in February...and I had a white car that i drove there...

the native NH-ers advised me to park "off the street" when it snowed....

seems that they get so much snow...and white cars are too hard to see by the snow plow drivers...that white cars got plowed away with the snow....

just so you know.....

The Princess and the Dishwasher.

Starring

princess: - Nichole Kidman as the Princess

::MickeyMo - Jonny Depp as the dishwasher
::MinnieMo - Heather Graham as the dishwashers friend

Act 1

Once upon a time...in a land just down the road...lived a poor but honest dishwasher ::MickeyMo ....

He was in his kitchen scrubbing pots & pans when the phone rang...(ring-a-ling....rin-a-ling...)

"Go!" he said when he answered the phone....

"Hello Sir" the voice on the other end said...and continued.. "All the eligible men of the kingdom are hereby extended an invitation to attend the dbut ball of the princess: , to be held 2 weeks from today. Your presnce at the ball is expected. Good-bye"

::MickeyMo was shocked....and nervous..he was uncertain of the proper social etiquettes....and did not have a clue what to wear...what sort of gift he shoud take....

so...he called his best friend, ::MinnieMo , for advice...

"HELP! I've been invited to the ball and I don't know what to do" ::MickeyMo squealed into the phone.....

"hellllllloooooooo" ::MinnieMo replied....

"oh...hi...how are you? will you help me? ::MickeyMo asked... "I'm a lowly dishwasher and haven't a clue"

"yep...you're a dsishwasher...not that there's anything wrong with that...but all the eligible men are being invited to the princess: 'es ball....so, you'll have to make do. Perhaps there is something you treasure that you could give the princess: " ::MinnieMo advised....

"Well, I do have my super-duper one-of-a-kind extraordinary matched set of dishwashing equipment that i truly treasure " ::MickeyMo mused out loud....

"Is she sponge-worthy?" ::MinnieMo started to ask...and ended with "OOPS...she is the princess: and even a princess uses the sponge"

"Giddyup!" ::MickeyMo replied.... "Yes, even when she s Queen of her castle, she might need a sponge!"

Just thought I'd drop in to say "Hi Everyone"!

:sunny:

Well, I'm glad that I don't have white cars! That is a very good point, thanks Brer!

Can I tell that story to my girls tonight? I am sure I will be laughing so hard they won't be able to make out what I am saying, but I will get a kick out of it...and it's all about me, right! :teeth:

Hi montessori!
:wave2: How nice of you to "drop" in! :teeth:

Hey cynsaun, you don't really feel much movement if the seas are calm. If the seas are rough it isn't even really too bad. Actually it is kind of cool to try to walk down the hallways when it is a little bit rocky. As close to getting drunk as I have ever been!!:p

Sometimes I have trouble with the movement, AFTER I get OFF the ship  Even that is kind of cool, like the room is moving up and down. Doesn't happen everytime though.

I like your song Brer_Papa but I seem to recognize it to the tune of Happy Birthday!!!! What Yuletide song do you sing it to??

I guess that I am not a good Canadian, I am lacking in my use of eh, eh!! ;)

montessori, you better feed your parachute guy, he looks a little on the skinny side!! ::yes::

Hi everyone!

I just LOVE this thread - so much fun to drop by and visit with everyone! I hope your weekend is going well. Mine has been great! Our daughter, son-in-law and oldest grandchild just bought a house 10 miles from us! Yippeee! Nothing like having family around.

Well, it's after 9pm and we're going to watch a movie. Have a great night everyone and I'll drop in to see what everyone is up to tomorrow!

BTW, Cruisn, I just wasn't musically inclined enough to figure out a tune for the song. I'll go back and try Happy Birthday. BrerPapa, if you could let me know what Yuletide song it was from, I'll go back and do that one, too! Loved the Seinfeld story!

Please (again) don't let me kill this thread!

Ooh, Ooh! I double checked the song! It reads beautifully to "Happy Birthday".....but is the yuletide song "Jingle Bells"?
