Kim, if I can post a picture than anybody can do it ::yes::

Go to imagestation.com and sign up, I did it a long time ago and my daughter did it mostly so I can't help you.

You transfer your pictures to that site and then you can post them on the DIS board.

Ask Dan for help, he helped me the first time that I did it. :D

Hey Kim....was just being sarcastic..lol...but seriously, if it's free, sign up with imagestation and put your clippie on there....I'll help you with the rest.

Hey there BP! I'm all out of Robitussin (sp?)....LOL

I really feel bad for using Kevin's space, while I figure this out. He did such a FABULOUS job at creating a once-in-a-lifetime siggie, for me anyway. If signing up at imagestation is all I need to do to get started, I will! After that, I think I'll be an easy learner, as I have posted pics before, but I'm not promising anything since this is NOT my picture. Not sure about the transferring thing. :o

If I can figure out imagestation, some way, some how, can I transfer pictures from my Kodak CD's as well? Oh boy, you guys will be bombarded with pics, if that's the case! :earseek:

:sunny:

 All right, so I am up already  It is kind of hard to sleep with a cat licking your legs  It is just a very good thing that she is cute;)

mamajoan, I will give you a little hint in the naughty and nice list, the person on the nice list just happens to be the same one all the way down the list

It sounds like you have had a busy, crazy household mamajoan. Good thing you are such a good manager and keeper in liner:p

Kim I don't know about transferring pictures from your CD, but I transfered one taken from my digital camera. Probably not the same thing. You can bombard us with pictures if you like, that would be fun!!

Morning everyone!

Met DD, DSIL & GS for b'fast. Had a nice time. Hubby and I came home, I made dinner for tonight - tried a new eggplant, tomato recipe. Looks good! We watched part of a movie, read some and we're getting ready for a nap. Thunderstorms are moving in, so it's good napping weather!

ya'll take care!

Good evening folks!

Kim, don't feel bad about using my space! Take all the time you need to get situated! if you right click over the clippie, you can save it to your computer. Just remember the folder you save it to. Once you sign up with imagestation, just upload your clippie from the folder you save it to on your computer. Also, you can transfer pics from your cds to imagestation as well!

MJ, sounds like you've had you hands full! My sympathies...LOL

Robin, cat licking your leg, eh? Nice way to wake up...LOL

:rockband:

Hi everyone! The threadkillers are quiet today! You ever had one of those naps where you slept so well that it felt like a full night's sleep? Well, we had one of those this afternoon! Woke up, went to church, had dinner and we're watching some football and reading. We also spoke to the kids. So, it's 9:45 and our day is winding down - which means it's time to say hello to the Threadkillers!

Hope ya'll had a nice Saturday. We've got a quiet day planned tomorrow. Walking, and relaxing. Monday, we'll be busy!

MamaJoan, it sounds lik EVERY day is busy for you! I hope things smooth out for you soon. Yes, I loved Alice Cooper doing the Staples commercial. I loved the one they did a few years ago with parents "riding" their shopping carts and the music playing was the Christmas tune "It's the most wonderful time of the year" and the kids were following the parents cart all upset!

Take care and we'll check in later!

The Christmas music back to school event Staples commercial is my FAVORITE!!! I look forward to its return as much as I looked forward to Santa on the Norelco heralding in the Holiday season!!!!

Commercials that make you laugh! LOVE "EM!!

anybody notice that the Olymipic commercials are just as special as the ones broadcast during the Superbowl??

I haven't seen the Alice Cooper one, but I also love the "the most wonderful time of the year" commerical. I sing that every Sept. ( our kids go back after Labour Day)

Robin, your cat might wake you up with a little leg bath....but....

ya ever tried to DIS with a huge cat trying to cuddle in your lap????

That's what mine does (and is doing right now) if I'm the only one still up at night...he's purring and swooshing his tail as if to say "stop moving my leg in order so you can type"

Heelllllllllllooooooooo everybody!! (can you tell I've had a few?

We had such a WONDERFUL time, the 22 of us, celebrating our Mom's BDs tonight!!!! Remarkable really, that we ALL got together, on the same day, at the same time, for the length of time we did (I just got home 45 minutes ago), and EVERYONE had such a great time!!!

Our Mom's (the twins) arrived, dressed identical, as they've looked all their lives, but this time down to their clothes, nearly their earrings even (which they switched, one a piece, just to match), and it was HYSTERICAL!

The dinner went fine, we had 4 tables, divided between the 2 families, and were able to get 2 checks for the 2 families, plus a bar bill. I thought we had it all worked out before-hand, but when the bills came, my brother & SIL (other brother's wife) just agreed to split the things 3 ways equally, rather than portioning it out. Worked for me, mathematically anyway, not sure how fair it was tho (to youngest bro), but they were the ones that suggested it, so.........that's what I did.

We then went to my cousin's two-flat, that she co-owns with her brother (my cousin also), and the weather was soo nice tonight, we were outside nearly the whole time. Except the time we came in to watch my Aunt's old 8mm tapes, converted to VHS a few years ago, and just laughed our butts off watching that! :p Oh, what fun!!! Plaid galore on those tapes, and the sideburns, and skinny butts......on and on, it was hysterical!!!

Imagine my shock tho, when my Mom and Aunt kept saying Thank You for the FIRST BD PARTY they ever had!!!! HELLLLOOOOO AGAIN! What on earth have we been having every year, ON their BD, all these years? I guess because we COMBINED the 2 of them, and ALL of their kids and grandkids, they FINALLY considered it a PARTY they never had before!!! :bday: Nice that they enjoyed it tho, seriously. I had such a great time!! (Don't worry, I let DS drive us home :moped: :)

Back to RL, via the DIS ;), Joan, I knew something must've been 'up' with ya, or I would've heard that things were hunky-dory. Sorry about Cam. :( Keep us posted on that wedding, ok? And, the Cubs had an AWESOME top of the 9th, but the 'Stros won it in the end......Howwwwweevvvvverrrr, the BEARS beat the 49ers on the same day! ::yes:: Sorry. ;)

Kevin, if all it took was a right-click, I'd do THAT right away as well! I know it's not THAT easy tho. ;)

Staples commercials? LOVE them, but I'm not that parent. :o I HATE that DS starts school Monday, and DD starts Wed. I wish for/need MORE time for the things we didn't do yet! Waaaahhhhhhh!!!:sad1: Can't believe school summer is over.

Have I talked enough?

Too bad.

Lastly, my Chicago Cop cousin gave my DS a pellet gun tonight, with the ammo, for a prop (DS loves to do movies), and can I say I'm NOT too happy about this?!?!? This same cop-cousin is one of the two bb-gun accident victims in my family when both of my bros had a bb gun, and he gives my DS a pellet gun, with some CO2 shooting or something? :earseek: Hint: Mom not happy!

Lastly, lastly, (I promise) cousin is planning for WDW next year...Aunt & Uncle say they'll go with them....Other cousin KNOWS her DH won't go, but HE was asking me all about planning, tickets, expenses, etc. I think I'm helping THEM for their trip before I help ourselves for OUR family trip! GMTA ::yes:: I just hope & pray they'll ALL feel the magic when they're there!!!

At least with the trip for my family, my DAD is paying for eveything!!! They have to divide everything...........na na na na ha ha!!! :p

 Sounds like a good time was had by all Kim, except of course the part about the gun :earseek:

Yeah, Wendy I know how it is with Kitties, every tried to write with one chasing after your pen:p

Have a good day

Something has been eating the fish in my fish pond  . I have had most of those fish in there for 5 years and only had a problem once with a bird taking one fish.

Now for the last 2 nights I have lost at least one fish each night. The first one was a huge fancy goldfish that was so fat it could hardly swim. It must have a good meal for who ever took it  It left behind fish scales on the ground!!!!

Last night I covered up the pond as best I could because I thought maybe it was the cat getting in there although neither one has shown any interest in "fishing" before. But now I think it is probably a raccoon are some other night creature.

I am going to have to find a way to cover it up tighter tonight and see if that makes a difference. Anybody got any good ideas on how to do that.

I have a screen door off of a sliding door that I use to cover it to discourage birds during migration times but it does not cover enough to keep a raccoon or cat out. I put the screen door over it and some mesh and a few old window screens but there were still big enough gaps to let the creature get through. There are frogs in there too and I don't want to totally block their entrance and exit either.

Hey Cruisin - wish I could tell you what to use. Are the Koi fish? They are so beautiful. I'm sorry that you've got a pesky critter. Best of luck with a solution. Maybe get hubby to make something custom. Like a screen the exact size of the pond with a heavy metal frame so the racoons can't move it.

KimRaye - your party sounded wonderful! I have a twin brother, but since I'm already to the grandma stage and his wife is pregnant with their 10th (yes TENTH) child, we usually celebrate separately. We did have a big party for my dad in March and all us kids got together - he was surprised. I know exactly how much fun you had. I'm so glad you were able to get together with all your family. It's amazing how wonderful everything turns out...isn't it? I understand your concerns regarding your son and the pellet gun. However, if he is coached properly on safety he should be okay. I used to be a competitive pistol shooter, so I understand how important safety is. I had to quit due to a bad case of tennis elbow! Just couldn't get around it and then I lost interest. Too bad, I had a matched set of Benelli pistols - olympic quality, too! However, when I sold them, we made a good amount of $$$ and spent it all on the house!

Since we're on a commercial track.....does anyone have another favorite that you can't resist? I love the Christmas McDonald's commercials - they always make me teary! If you check out adcritic.com, they have some hysterical commercials from all over the world you can watch.

Hubby and I walked 3 miles today, since we started late, we had an early lunch - low-carb burgers - yummmmm! Then we came home, showered and we're just relaxing right now. We've both been on the computer, read and such. We've got classic football on TV (ESPN) because it reminds me of the holiday season. A thunderstorm is brewing and it's a good day to do nothing!

Well, once again, I've chatted too much and forgot all about the smilies....so here's one for ya'll! Take care and have a great day!

Hi Ann: No Koi's in my pond, just goldfish, some of the fancy types with the big bodies and fan like tails (now at least one less:mad: ) , and a few goldfish type like shubunkin's, comets etc. Koi's cost too much money for me ;)

I have the pond pretty much covered up tightly now and I plan on leaving the outside light on all night. Maybe that will help to deter the culprit. Maybe it is somebody else's cat or maybe it is a raccoon or possum:confused:

I have thought about asking my husband to weld me up some kind of frame and cover it maybe with metal mesh, welded on also. Then I could cover it for the winter with a tarp or something to keep the cold wind off the pond too. But then I would probably have to leave it on all of the time because where would you store something like that?

Sounds like you have quite the family there. A twin brother how cool for you. Did you like that growing up?

Hey guess what I went out for breakfast this morning with my husband and my mom and dad were here to see what I was doing with the pond and stayed for lunch. We are going to my mom and dad's for supper tonight, so no cooking for me:bounce:

Robin- my mom use to have the same problem with her pond too...but it wasn't a raccoon it was a Blue HERON! and it came at day break.
I think what she did was the screen meshing thing. If you only cover it at night the frog should be ok. Just make sure he can be out of the water too.

Yesterday I was at a mini dis meet, here in Peterborough. There are 4 families that are on the Dis boards and we've gotten together a few times a year. 2 times (that I've been to) we met at a mall and then the last 2 were at each other's home. Last night we had a BBQ- from 3:30pm-9:30***6 hour DIS meet*** I'll post some pics soon.

Hi everyone!

Mamudduck - your DIS meet sounded like a lot of fun. It must have been to last 6 hours!

Cruisin - I'm tapped out on what to do about your fish pond. If you needed to store the mesh thingie, could you prop it up against a fence or building? Not the best solution, but as I said I'm tapped out.

Well, hubby and I took a small nap and we're watching the olympics & reading. My twin brother came over to visit today - he's been on my mind lately, too.

Well, hope ya'll have a nice evening....back to my book! Ann

Okay I am going to try this again and hope it goes through after I type it all out and that I don't get .... the server is too busy.........

MaMudduck, I saw that DISmeet "advertised" on the CDN board. I am glad that you all had fun together.

I have the fish pond covered up really well tonight, so hopefully my fish will survive the night:( It might be a bird Wendy. My husband says we should have a video camera set up but ours only tapes on 2 hour tapes so that wouldn't help out too much. The fish are not only disappearing but the plants are being destroyed too so I don't think it is a cat. I think more a raccoon or maybe a heron like Wendy suggested.

;) ;) Hey ........ Brer_Papa ;) ;) , Where are you hiding you ole incorrigable flirt you ;) ;) Come on out and play with us ;)

;) ;) and Kevin, where are you tonight ;) ;)

:p  :teeth: :p
