DD and I will be driving to Thanksgiving in OH- DH has to do a store opening in MD, so he has to fly into Dayton on Wed PM, and fly back on Fri AM. He usually does the driving, but I have to do it this year. I am NOT looking forward to it!!

The forecast is for snow in the NE- I will be going through the mountains of WV, and central OH. Hopefully, it will hold off til we get into Dayton tonight.

Who else will be dealing with snow/rain and winter weather this Thanksgiving?

Well since DH plows snow-
might not be going anywere for Turkey DAy :(

I quess it is good that I am in charge of desserts - my fav - so at least i will have those ;)

hope it isn't too bad for you - be safe

i'm north of columbus and haven't seen a flake yet thank goodness. but i'm also looking at white stuff during my trip.

We're supposed to get the white stuff Thanksgiving day. We're supposed to drive an hour over to my aunt and uncle's and another hour home on Thanksgiving day. Mom told me last night she'll make sure to have chicken breast, potatoes, and squash at home in case we can't go :guilty:

Going from Baltimore to Philly (well, NJ 'burbs) on Thursday morning. Could be kinda white for us. :sad1:

Yup, us too. Planning on an 8 hour drive with a portion under a winter storm advisory 10-12 inches of snow with winds 40-50 mph..thankfully it is a lake effect storm and will probably drive out of it an hour or 2 into the trip.

Luckily I am going to be at my sisters house in VA, am going tomorrow and staying until Sunday so I won't have to be out there if we get anything. Did the travelling in the bad weather to her house a couple years ago for Christmas, won't do that again. Good luck and stay safe to all who will be travelling this year in good and bad weather.

Well, we are not driving in it b/c my in-laws live in front of us so it's a really short walk, but if it does snow it means hubby will have to go to work (highway dept worker) so he will miss Thanksgiving :guilty:

It's supposed to snow that morning but they aren't saying how much is expected.

My dd at Northern, just drove out of the big white cloud hanging over Marquette MI. I just hope the snow storm is gone on Sunday. I heard that Northern MI University looses 2 students each Thanksgiving Season due to snow related car crashes. How sad.

I think I'd rather be driving through snow than northern CA traffic. Somebody help me!

OhMari-

Unfortunately, that is true. MTU is in my backyard and I know every single year there is a major snowstorm on Thanksgiving break and we always lose a few students. Hopefully, the forcast is wrong! Keeping our fingers crossed as we are headed to IL...

We live on the border of Ohio and West Virginia off I77 I think you will be coming right through here. We arent suppose to get much of anything they are calling for a 1/4 inch of slushy snow tommorrow but not too much the interstates should be nice and clear. Have a safe trip

Snow? What is this snow you speak of? LOL, I live in South Florida... no chance for Snow here... although it has been cooler here lately, ya know 78 instead of 84 for a high? You bet people have been pulling out their heavy sweaters! LOLOLOLOLOL

We will be. driving from Indy to chicago at least a 3 hour driveso i hopeit doesn't snow bad.

It's supposed to snow here T-day, but I'm traveling tomorrow and coming home on Friday, so I should miss it.

We are down here in Charleston and were headed north of Pittsburgh to see my mom. She called us and said that as much as it broke all of our hearts, we should stay put. They already have 4 inches and it's still snowing. The low lying areas are predicted to get 1-3 feet of snow, I can't even imagine those WV mountains :earseek: My Grandma lives in Erie, PA (which is where we would have ended up) and she already has a lot. Be safe. Hopefully the forecast will change and we can head out tomorrow afternoon, but I don't think we'll be able to.

Well, we're back in NC!! We headed out on Tuesday afternoon- we ran into lots of flurries w/snow blowing around in WV, but it wasn't sticking to the roads yet. There wasn't any snow in OH until the next AM, after we were safely there. They only got about an inch in Dayton over two days, but it melted really fast. It was on the ground just long enough for DD to play in it- she doesn't see much snow here in Charlotte. It was warmed up today on our way back home.

Hope everyone had a great holiday!

I was actually thinking about you today. I rememberd you posting this and we were headed a similar direction. We were going to leave very early Wednesday morning, but ended up not being able to. I'm glad you got there before it got bad.

We drove in the snow. Saw several pretty bad accidents and nearly got in a few ourselves. We finally made it to our destination an hour after we normally would have, shaken, but somehow unharmed. Coming back the snow was done and the roads were clear, though slippery, but we made it home uneventfully. Went north yesterday, in the sun. Coming home today it was snowing like crazy. Another scary ride, but we made it ok. Everything looks really pretty everywhere, but geeze I didn't need the "excitement".
