Who else should be asleep?

I have to be up in three and 1/2 hours and I'm DISing! Who else should be asleep?

I definitely should be!! But I'm trying to stay up later, because my husband is flying tomorrow and I'm always a nervous wreck when he does! So I want to sleep through it! But not too late, since I have to pick him up at the airport!!

ME! i have to get up at 430 to hit the gym and it's 145 already i had mountain dew for dinner for the first time and now here i am JOLTED awake! hahah!

Since you're all up and I'm guessing most of you are women, question for you-anyone know how you can tell if your water broke for sure? Seriously, not something I ever thought I'd question, but well, right now, I'm not so sure.

A question you never thought a man would be answering.You'll know when your water brakes for sure,you will have a rush of fluid.Usally clear but sometime green or brown and sometimes it will contain blood.Nicely put,if you think you have "a leak" it is possible that your "bag"is torn and has yet completly broke and sometimes the "bag"has to be broken by a medical profussional.

He knows better than I do. I've never had kids, but if I thought I might soon, I'd wake someone up right now and find out for sure!

Ha, thanks. Maybe I'm just in denial. My dr broke my water with my daughter so I never really experienced it breaking on its own. But something is definitely leaking. He better stay put in there till at least 7am when I won't feel so bad calling someone to watch my daughter.

Well my husband woke up, thought I was just up DISing at 3am for no reason, but I didn't want to mention anything yet cause I have only had 1 contraction and I know he's going to panic and I have no idea what to do with the 2yo at the moment!

WOW! good luck! i have no clue, i was induced with DS and then emergency C-section, so no clue hope all is well.

Hi there! If your water has broken you will know soon enough on your own because in a short while you should begin to have contractions (if you haven't been already) and they will get much more intense since your water has broken. I know that some doctors/hospitals don't want you to report to the hospital until your contractions are a certain length apart and/or your water has broken. I know your situation is your other child home in bed but I would call the hospital and ask there advice regarding your loss or leaking fluid and see what they say. If they say you should go to the hospital then it would be best for you and the baby even if it meant that you had to take your other child to the hospital with you. I feel for you in this situation and pray that all goes well for you and your family.

Thanks-I'm on the phone now with the dumbest receptionist in the world. You're right DisnyMama, I did start getting contractions about an hour or so after the leaking started, but they're still pretty erratic and spaced.

Sorry to totally monopolize the thread! You can return to the normal who's not sleeping conversation!

As to the ? of whether you should still be sleeping...I got up at 5:30 and should have stayed in bed at least until now, as I am graduating from college tonight and don't want to fall asleep in the ceremony. Oh well.

Couldn't sleep either. DH woke me up when he got up to go to work. With all his coughing and stomping around no one can sleep. Except DD. All three cats are sitting here stareing at me.

I see you are still on line, justthat. what is going on? shouldn't you be going to the hosptial?

still waiting for them to call back. Gosh knows when that will be. I'm leaving the computer on though cause I can send my husband text messages on his pager through my e-mail, which is much better than just paging him and waiting for a call back. He had to go to work to round on his patients but will be coming back after that, hopefully soon.

still having contrations? sure hope and pray all goes well. from what you where saying I would be real surprised if you weren't in labor.

Yep, they're still coming. With my 1st they started off very regular, every 7 minutes, but this time they're very erratic and further apart so I think that's part of the reason I'm willing to wait a bit. I'll be calling the L&D floor of the hospital soon though if I don't hear from the OB on call.

I can't believe you are still on line dising and so calm. I'd be a nervous wreck. How exciting! Just think about in a few hours a new little person- a beautiful miracle is about to happen. I guess I am over dramatic. But this sure is exciting!!
