Who else is waiting to buy at BLT?

I'm waiting until next year to buy. I saw the pictures online when it went on sale and thought it was OK. Then, I toured the models at SSR and LOVED it! I almost bought more points right then and there.

I came to my senses and decided to wait until next year - probably May 2009 when we go back to WDW.

Do you think that the $7 incentative will still be there?

They will probably have better incentives by that time. We went ahead and purchased a 240 point add on for BLT when it first went on sale but we weren't really worried about incentives. We had waited a long time for this home resort and got carried away in the moment. :cheer2:

No regrets though!

We have been waiting for BLT and our advice on and off these boards has been buy where you want to stay so BLT is our choice. My biggest hurdle is that if I sign this week (or anytime before BLT opens), I begin paying (not maintenance) for something I can't use and I'm not getting any points for the payments either. What was explained to me is that I would sign now and close within 60 days or less, pay either outright or financing (we're deciding on this one as we might need to lower the income bracket) BUT have no points to use at another resort (either Disney or elsewhere) or points earning that we could roll over even though I've already begun to pay.

We're also guessing that sales are slow (???) and are going to see what kickbacks/incentives above the $5 card per point they can offer. Any suggestions with this?

We ran into that problem, too, in that we are paying for AKV at Kidani Village, but we don't get any points to use there until May, 2009. So we are paying now for the points, but not on the dues. Those we don't have to pay until May, 2009.

On the plus side, we did receive developer points good at either SSR or the DLR. We are using them at the Grand Californian this December. That was the only reason it was worth it at the time.

So my advice is that if they aren't offering any developer points or anything, wait until a better incentive comes out. I think waiting until May is a great option for you. We are going to do the same thing when we are there this May for some add on points.

Good luck!

I have only seem a $5 incentative.

really think before they remove the incentative they will tell us.

waiting too - was waiting for March - but it might be May, 2009 too.

We are also waiting until June. We are based overseas in Ireland and Disney cant sell to someone based in Ireland, something to do with Irish Timeshare Laws.

Also waiting in hopes of Developer points or something. I just can't justify paying for something I can't use right now.

We are very interested, but have decided to wait. I definitely want to add points, but I am trying to decide between BC and BLT. Tough decision.

I'm also debating between BC and BLT. I love the idea of the monorail and the BLT looks awesome but we LOVE Epcot (the whole family) and being able to walk there and back (especially after the fireworks) is super important. But BLT is good until 2060 -so 14 extra years but more $$ per point.

Hmmm - can't decide.... We're staying at BC in May and I'm going to have to make a decision then.

think BC quites in jan,31, 2042 - so 18 more years.

have BWV - might add to it - or not - like BCV much better.but the standard points at BWV make it a better deal.

definitely getting BLT - just a matter of when.

We're waiting also. We were thinking of either BLT or a resale add on at SSR. I'm not overjoyed at the point costs for BLT....a 1BR MK view is the same as a 2BR at SSR for the same week. However, we may change our minds if the incentives are right. I've heard that BLT isn't selling as quickly as anticipated so it may get interesting.

heard just the opposite....:lmao:

it has enough points so can wait for a while.

still in May will be better off financially.

Hey, did I write this post and not remember it? ;) We toured last weekend and I really wanted to buy. DH instead almost bought an add-on at Hilton Head. I told him no way. As much as I love HHI, the only other place I plan to buy is BLT. (To which he laughed at the initials.) We luckily had a cooling down period and did not buy at the time. I want to wait until we can not only afford it better, but afford to buy the amount of points we really would need for a good stay.

We are waiting and watching to see if anything changes because of the economy.
But let me tell you, my trigger finger is seriously itchy!!!
:rolleyes1
